Texas' latest abortion ban is clearly unconstitutional under Roe v Wade, so why didn't the Supreme Court stop it from going into effect? In this episode, we discuss the Supreme Court's recent action allowing an unconstitutional law to go into effect in Texas. We talk about the law that bans abortions as early as 6 weeks, and discuss the new private citizen enforcement scheme that led the court to claim it presented "complex and novel" procedural issues that meant it couldn't stop the law from going into effect. In dissent, Justice Sotomayor called the majority's order "stunning", and we don't disagree.
In this short solo episode, Allegra breaks down the newest allegations in the Amended Complaint in the lawsuit filed by the trustee in the Girardi Keese Bankruptcy case against Erika Girardi. This newest filing is an update in the case and we discussed the original lawsuit on our July 19th episode. The term "receivables" is used and interchanged with a "debt owed to Girardi Keese"- Essentially, the allegations are that Erika Jayne owes Girardi Keese money and the bankruptcy trustee is trying to collect on that debt to repay the creditors of the estate. -Sorry for the audio issues around 10:35-**As always, these episodes are for entertainment purposes only and do not constitute legal advice**
In this episode, we discuss a few topics including social media breaks and the negative effects of social media, many people on social media all of a sudden becoming foreign policy "experts" regarding the United States' recent withdrawal from Afghanistan, and a recent lawsuit filed in New York alleging Bob Dylan sexually abused a 12 year old girl in 1965.

We summarize what's in the report as well as briefly walk you through New York's impeachment process (similar to the federal process but there are some differences). We then discuss the legality of the Centers for Disease Control's (CDC) recent eviction moratorium order, which some argue is just an extension of the previous order that expired at the end of July and some argue is more limited. The Supreme Court previously weighed in on the issue, so we briefly discuss that and what legal challenges are already brewing.
In this episode, we discuss the latest in the Britney Spears conservatorship, mostly the recent petition to remove Jamie Spears as conservator of the estate.
