Episode Notes I denne episode af RMC Podcast kan du høre producerne Pia Christensen aka Vakle, Julie Aagaard aka Kill J og Heidi Mortenson aka Phtalo i samtale med Ulla Pihl fra Musikbevægelsen af 2019 omkring dét at være producer som kvinde og kønsminoritet i dag. I takt med at flere og flere har mulighed for selv at indspille og producere, ser vi en opadgående kurve af artister, der selv producerer deres musik. Men der er stadig kun meget få kvinder eller kønsminoriteter i Danmark, som udelukkende producerer for andre. Statistisk set er der kun omkring 2% kvinder og kønsminoriteter, der betegner sig som producere. Derfor taler de tre gæster om, hvad det mon skyldes? Og hvad forskellen er på en producerende artist og en producer? Har definitionen af begrebet producer ændret sig indenfor de seneste år? og hvem har retten til at definere? Podcasten er baseret på det fysiske event »KØN Musik #5 Open Podcast - Kvinder og kønsminoriteter der producerer«, som fandt sted 2. december 2021 på RMC - Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium, og som var arrangeret i et samarbejde mellem RMC - Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium og Foreningen Musikbevægelsen af 2019. Episode Notes This episode of RMC Podcast features a conversation with associate professor at RMC, composer Niels Lyhne Løkkegaard, a conversation about Curatorium – the festival that never takes places. You will also be hearing works by RMC students Anna Wærum, Astrid Emilie and Ginte Preisaite. Niels Lyhne Løkkegaard have for a number of years been occupied with imaginary sound, and from 2017-2020 he carried out an artistic research project with the simple and yet very telling title Music for the inner ear. In this research project he asked questions like: Can written stories about sound manifest themselves as imaginary pieces of music inside the listeners mind? A kind of music in which the listener also becomes the composer? And can the story about a piece of art become the piece of art? These questions are also the common thread in this podcast episode where Niels elaborates on all the ideas that springs from the concept of an imaginary sound art festival.

Men hvad nu, hvis man i stedet anskuede festivalen som et kæmpestort potentiale for at eksperimentere med nye løsninger for en bæredygtig fremtid? Sanne Stephansen er programleder for bæredygtighed på Roskilde Festival, og i dette afsnit skal hun fortælle os om, hvordan musik- og festivalbranchen sætter aftryk på miljøet, men samtidig har et stort potentiale for at skubbe på den grønne omstilling både gennem egne handlinger og ved at efterspørge nye grønne løsninger. Dette afsnit af RMC Podcast handler om alderdiskrimination i musikbrancen set fra Stine Liebmans synsvinkel, som har stiftet initiativet Grown Up Gold. Stine har selv oplevet, hvordan det er at være nyuddannet fra konservatoriet og allerede være dømt for gammel til musikbranchen. Hun har besluttet ikke at acceptere omstændighederne, men at kæmpe for at lave forholdene om. Afsnittet knytter sig til en paneldebat som RMC i midten af september i år havde arrangeret i samarbejde med Grown Up Gold og Musikmuseet i København, og den fandt sted under historiefestival Golden Days med de passende tema Forever Young. Forsanger i Blaue Blume og RMC-studerende Jonas Schmidt fortæller om kunstnerisk identitet og om at finde et musikerliv, hvor man sætter sig selv først. Blaue Blume oplevede stor succes efter deres første album i 2015. I 2018 udsendte bandet en pressemeddelelse, hvor de bekendtgjorde en pause på ubestemt tid, mens forsanger og sangskriver Jonas Schmidt kæmpede med en depression. Og i 2019 gjorde Blaue Blume et anmelderrost comeback. Jonas Schmidt studerer Komposition på RMC og fortæller i dette afsnit af RMC Podcast om successen, den efterfølgende pause, og hvordan man kommer tilbage til et musikerliv, hvor man sætter sig selv først. Impostor Syndrome er især udbredt inden for de kunstneriske brancher, der beror på subjektive vurderinger, kritik og offentlige anmeldelser. In this episode of RMC Podcast you can listen to a full live recording of the performance of Barry Guy’s work ‘Hotshop’ written for an ensemble of students from both RMC and The Royal Danish Academy of Music. The piece was premiered in Brorsons Church in Copenhagen on Friday the 4th of October 2019, conducted by Barry Guy, performed by the ensemble of student, and co-presented in collaboration with RMC, The Royal Danish Academy of Music, ALICE, Snyk and Brorsons church.‘Hotshop’ is inspired by American glass sculptor Dale Chihuly. Guy has drawn on inspiration both from Chihuly’s work, and also from visiting his studio and seeing the amount of energy and concentration that goes into sculpting with glass. In February 2020, iconic British producer and electronic composer Roly Porter visited RMC.Within three days a handful of composition students from RMC composed a new piece i collaboration with Roly Porter. The piece was premiered at venue Mayhem in Copenhagen on February 13th.In the podcast Roly Porter explains how the collaborative piece was created at RMC.
