Philosopher Todd Dufresne has written a three-part lecture series for IDEAS, entitled: Climate Change and the Unborn Future: Capitalism, Philosophy, and Pandemic Politics. He argues that the way we live needs a stem-to-stern overhaul — and a new philosophy of the Anthropocene to see the world with new eyes.

Episode Notes This episode of RMC Podcast features a conversation with associate professor at RMC, composer Niels Lyhne Løkkegaard, a conversation about Curatorium – the festival that never takes places. You will also be hearing works by RMC students Anna Wærum, Astrid Emilie and Ginte Preisaite. Niels Lyhne Løkkegaard have for a number of years been occupied with imaginary sound, and from 2017-2020 he carried out an artistic research project with the simple and yet very telling title Music for the inner ear. In this research project he asked questions like: Can written stories about sound manifest themselves as imaginary pieces of music inside the listeners mind? A kind of music in which the listener also becomes the composer? And can the story about a piece of art become the piece of art? These questions are also the common thread in this podcast episode where Niels elaborates on all the ideas that springs from the concept of an imaginary sound art festival.
I was privileged and honoured to have had an opportunity to discuss Allan's Chapter, Discoveries. Coincidentally, Allan's hometown, Dundee (in Scotland) means The City of Discovery. Allan takes us through his journey of Discovery by articulating a time when working in various careers lacked meaning; a clear moment of what fulfillment looked like when he was an observer; his opportunity to migrate to Australia; the commencement of his Discovery journey within a role (in the Disability sector) that provided the meaning he was searching for; and how this journey has unfolded. From the multiple points that deeply resonated with me, Allan mentioned his Utopic world would have a role & space for every individual and this created a heartfelt delight. Allan's key takeaways included - demonstrate empathy & kindness, and engage in authentic conversations with people (even if it's just a greeting). Thanks in advance for taking the time to watch this Chapter and feel free to share it with anyone that may resonate with it.

Join me as I sit down with a dear friend of mine, an amazing catalyst for inspiring the impossible and making it possible, the co-CEO of Singularity Australia and founder of UtopiaX, Christina Gerakiteys. Christina's mission is to empower and inspire leaders to use exponential technologies to solve humanity's biggest and grandest challenges with a purpose to facilitate the road to Utopic society by opening the hearts and minds to unlimited potential. Uncertainty, doubt and fear - these are the factors that hinder us from moving forward to our success, especially in this pandemic. So many are stuck in this constant self-questioning without even taking action to make things happen. We discuss how to pivot your way and turn things to get better results when you're facing crisis, problems or challenges in your life. Christina shares how those hardships and trials she experienced have made her who she is today. You can get through all these fear-factors if you balance everything, taking one step at a time, walk your talk and live in the moment - have that faith in yourself that you can do it, because you can. Christina believes that if all of us collaborate and join forces together, we can have this life that's built on the pillars of respect, love and hope. Christina's advice, "If you want something, go out and make it happen. Look at all the opportunities that you'll miss out if you don't take action now." Resilience is putting yourself in as many positions with something great that can happen. And if you put in yourself enough of those positions, something's going to pay off. What will you discover: •The mission and success behind SingularityU •The reason behind the foundation of UtopiaX •How to pivot your way out of these fear-factors and turn into something greater •Learn how to recognise where you are most comfortable and happy •How your failure can be your learning opportunity or your biggest success Get in contact with Christina Gerakiteys: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/christina.sykiotis Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/singularityu Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/christina_gerakiteys/ Website: https://www.singularityuaustralia.com/ Website: https://www.utopiax.global/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/christinagerakiteys/ Hit me up on social media and say hi!
