Jesus' problem with the Pharisees was not that they were religious. It was that they were focused on the wrong things. They were focused on outward appearances more than inward holiness. They were focused on judgment more than mercy. And they were focused on pride more than humility. Jesus' teachings remind us that true religion is not about following rules or performing rituals. It is about having a relationship with God and living a life of love and service to others. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rooted-in-grace/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rooted-in-grace/support

Femininity is a topic that has recently gained popularity, and I am here for it! Knowing the power of being a woman and appreciating and embracing who God has created us to be would be extremely beneficial for women of God. Some or most of us feel uneasy when we hear the word femininity, which is natural given the numerous preconceptions or expectations of femininity that may be discouraging. There is no one size fits all for femininity since God designed every one of us uniquely. The biblical concept of femininity refers to your aura. It is based on the fruits of the spirit (Holy Spirit) that you embody and exhibit as a woman of God. Proverbs 31 is a wonderful text that emphasizes the virtues and characteristics of Biblical women. It's an excellent blueprint for being the God-given woman you were created to be! It does not imply that you will be the perfect woman since there is no such thing, but it does mean that you are allowing God to guide you and renew your heart. Quoted from Tony Evans, "The Proverbs 31 woman is not the model of a perfect woman. She is the model of a committed woman under God." To read more on femininity, check out my blog post! We all have the wonderful gift of salvation, and it is not due to our works, but simply to our faith. Faith is proof of things unseen! Are we able to see God? No, we cannot, but we know in our hearts that he is for us because of our circumstances, which we survived and only made it through by God's grace. Jesus has already completed the task for us. He died for our sins in order for us to have eternal life. There is no condemnation in Christ because of Jesus' sacrifice. Because of Jesus' sacrifice, nothing can separate us from God's love. Why did we need Jesus if we could do everything ourselves? Yes, I am flawed, but since I serve a God who is both perfect and merciful, I can rest assured that I am saved and loved. God chose us before we chose him. Always keep your eyes on God and have confidence (a mustard seed of faith is all that is required) that God will work things out for your advantage. When you're tired, lean on God's strength. If you have given up on God, return to him, and he will accept you without hesitation and with grace and mercy. God loves you more than you can comprehend. Accept and relax in his unshakable love! “When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It's a ghost!” But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don't be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!” Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it's really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?" Fearing Man can manifest itself in a variety of ways, including people pleasing, gaining the favor or respect of others, worrying what others think of you, and much more. We often seek people' approval because we are terrified of what will happen if they do not approve of us. But let us be clear... being a servant of Christ will be extremely difficult if we are continually afraid of man. God will always have you doing something that goes against society norms or what is deemed a "popular opinion" 99.9% of the time. It will be difficult to live out your genuine destiny and life's purpose if you fear man. Fearing God can remove people's fears and enhance God's fear, which means standing firm on his promises and just caring about what God approves and does not approve. Just remember that a person can be highly regarded by men while being an abomination to God. Let us always make the decision to fear God and keep him first in our lives. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rooted-in-grace/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rooted-in-grace/support

Go deeper and bolder in your prayers to God in 2022 and beyond. Be authentic as you approach God's throne. There isn't a certain manner to pray. Pray with conviction and passion. Even the silent prayers are heard by God. God is aware of our desires, needs, and emotions. Everyone wants to grow in their walk with Christ, but we must first look in the mirror and see who we are, as well as the people we surround ourselves with. We've all heard the saying, "You are the average of the five people with whom you spend the most time." When you read about Jacob's origins, you'll notice that the majority of his manipulative methods stem from the people that were in his vicinity.
