Welcome to the School of Ministry Podcast where we examine James 3:5–12, as he uses vivid imagery of fire to show how the tongue—though small—can defile the whole person, spread destruction through gossip and slander, and be influenced by the old nature and the devil. In James 3, James writes to the power that the tongue possesses by highlighting that it is disporportionate in strength to its size, that we are helpless to tame it on our own, and that it reveals our heart. If you will believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and then if you will say with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, then thou shalt be saved.
