You're standing in front of a mess…clothes, memories, identities…scattered on the floor. A rod gives out, a shelf falls, or maybe your inner structure does. It looks like chaos, but it might just be intuition telling you: it's time to release the weight, it's time to let go. Whether it's a closet full of old identities, a childhood belief you've outgrown, or a lingering fear that you're still “too much,” life finds ways to show us what no longer fits. But what if that collapse isn't a failure but an invitation to release, integrate, and reclaim ourselves? It's a shift trigger - another opportunity for curiosity, attention, circulation, and appreciation. How do we use the “falling rod” to grow further? What happens when we treat a shift trigger with curiosity? In this episode, we explore how closet collapses and pickleball revelations can support intuition and gently guide us toward more freedom, more play, and presence. Things You'll Learn In This Episode When the rod breaks What does a fallen closet rod have to do with personal transformation, and why do breakdowns often come before breakthroughs? Today on Too Opinionated, we sit down with actress/artist Angela Cartwright! Born in England, Angela is the younger sister of actress Veronica Cartwright. As a child she was cast as the cute little stepdaughter, Linda Williams, on The Danny Thomas Show. She was on the show from 1957 to 1964. After that, she was cast as Brigitta in the popular Julie Andrews movie The Sound of Music. Soon after, she returned to series TV as Penny Robinson, young teenage space traveler, in Lost in Space, which ran from 1965-1968. Even with cheap special effects and a hokey story line, the show is still popular today. In 1970 Angela had a part in Make Room for Granddaddy, a sequel to the original series, but the show was soon canceled. Since that time, she has made a life outside of films. Angela is also known for her work on Airwolf, The Love Boat, My Three Sons and Adam-12. Want to watch: YouTube Meisterkhan Pod (Please Subscribe)

Let's get honest about a lie holding too many of us back. Somewhere along the way, we picked up this false idea that humility means shrinking, that dreaming big somehow makes us prideful. But here's the truth—thinking bigger isn't prideful, it's faithful. Playing small doesn't honor God. Stewarding your gifts—that's what glorifies Him. So today, we're tearing down the lie that safe and small equals holy. We're stepping into the dreams deep in your heart—the ones so bold and beautiful, you almost feel guilty for wanting them. The ones that whisper, “Who do you think you are?” Here's the answer: You are His. And it's time to trust Him enough to dream bigger. Despite the fact that so many of them make it look easy, the daily lives of senior U.S. military leaders can be incredibly demanding. Laura Weimer examined how senior leaders manage their well-being (or, at times, struggle to do so) amidst these demanding careers, and she's in the studio with host JP Clark to share her discoveries. Drawing from her research, Weimer highlighted the unique pressures of senior roles, including frequent relocations, intense scrutiny, and the weight of consequential decisions. She also discussed the inevitable challenges of mid-life, such as caring for aging parents and navigating evolving family dynamics, which compound work-related stress. Weimer's key takeaway? Developing a strong sense of identity, meaning, and purpose is essential for fostering resilience and sustaining leadership effectiveness. I don't know if necessarily it's the Army's job to help us figure out our identity. I do think it would be valuable for the Army to acknowledge the value of those conversations and maybe even prompt those conversations. In this thought-provoking episode of Shark Theory, hosted by Baylor Barbee, we delve into the profound theme of personal growth through the art of elimination. Baylor uses a simple yet powerful analogy of his Australian shepherd, Bear, to illustrate how shedding excess can lead to renewed confidence and vitality. This Thursday's discussion focuses on the common misconception that growth is solely about addition, and instead, prompts listeners to consider the equally potent power of subtraction in our personal and professional lives. Using Bear's grooming experience as a metaphor for life, Baylor stresses the importance of "trimming the fat" — both literally and figuratively. Effective personal growth, he argues, requires us to let go of habits, relationships, and routines that no longer serve us. By eliminating these aspects, we make room for new opportunities, skills, and confidence to thrive. Baylor also highlights how this theme of removal applies to managing one's schedule, relationships, and mental energy, emphasizing that such clarity is essential for meaningful progress and self-discovery. Key Takeaways: Growth is not just about adding more; it is equally about eliminating the unnecessary to reveal true potential. Regular reflection and elimination of unproductive habits and relationships create room for new opportunities. Time management is crucial — be selective about who has access to your valuable time. Staying too long in comfort zones can cause your skills and attributes to settle and diminish over time. Embracing change, such as trying new experiences, can help reclaim and highlight your intrinsic worth and strengths. Notable Quotes: “It's the removal that gave him the new confidence and the new look.” – Baylor Barbee “You can't grab on to something new if you're holding on to everything that was.” – Baylor Barbee “Be very, very, very, you know, strict about who has access to you, your time.” – Baylor Barbee “You have so much inside of you, you have so much that has been sitting there idle.” – Baylor Barbee “If you'll just take the time to trim the fat…you'll be amazed at what you're capable of.” – Baylor Barbee

April 13th, 2025David Comstock This week, we're wrapping up our Make Room series by talking about something that's often messy, sometimes beautiful, and deeply close to God's heart: the Church. Make Room: "What To Do When the World Doesn't Make Sense" By Bobby Wallace, Preaching Minister 4/13/25 Due to technical difficulties during the start of our service, we did not have a livestream or recording of our message. Here is an abbreviated version of the message from John 18. How do deal with life when it doesn't go according to plan; when life is difficult?
Ever panic-clean before company comes over? We've all done it, we hide the mess, throwing comforters over piles of junk and just calling it creative planning in hopes no one opens a closet. But what if the guest is Jesus… and He's not coming to inspect your house, He's coming to take over your heart? This Palm Sunday, we're diving into Matthew 21 and asking a big question: are we making room for the moment, or making room for the King? Spoiler alert, Jesus doesn't need your perfection. He just wants your invitation.
You might think that the bible teaches that money is unimportant (certainly in comparison to more “spiritual” subjects like prayer, forgiveness and fasting). Yet, Jesus taught that money is more important than we realize, but for very different reasons than we think! In today's message, pastor Dan explains why wealth may be God's chief rival in your life. -- GIVE: Visit www.connectcalgary.ca/give to help share #LifeOverflowing across Canada.
