No one can take integrity from us. If we lose integrity, it is because we give it up of our own volition.
Wisdom is valuable, and righteousness is desirable, but foolishness and wickedness characterize our lives. Fearing God provides a way of escape from temptation and ruin.

“In a world full of vapor, GOD is the only thing SOLID.” One of the many powerful points found in Michael Whitworth's book What Is the Book of Ecclesiastes?.Many see Ecc. as a dark book, but when you substitute meaningless for a more accurate translation such as temporary it reads much differently. Solomon tried using wisdom, entertainment, and the gathering of stuff to find happiness. We can learn a lot from his failures. “...like cotton candy, they cannot fill the hole in us. They always leave us wanting more. We need to get off the treadmill.“Fearing God means knowing He's God and you're not.”“We're not supposed to have all the answers, but we're supposed to TRUST the ONE who does!”“Joy is a gift from God, RECEIVE it with GRATITUDE.”Life doesn't move in a straight line, but in seasons. We do not get to choose the season we're in. They are ordered by GOD who walks through them with us. Knowing we are dust keeps us humble and remembering breath makes us aware of His presence.Patience trusts God. It is humble, pride is not. God is in control and He has something to teach us in every season of life. Let's not run from the hard stuff.Won't you join Kate, Sheila, and the boys as they share Solomon's pitfalls and joys?God made you to know HIM, let's dive into this little gem! Blessings dear listeners! For more quotes from this fantastic book https://recapbookchat.com/2026/04/04/what-is-the-book-of-ecclesiastes-episode-222/
Many in business have learned the hard way the importance of hiring people with strong character. God's view on integrity, however, is different from the world's view. Many universities teach moral relativism, allowing you to decide right and wrong. God's moral code, however, starts with the concept of fearing God. Fearing God is to ... Sadler Pinkerton - Fearing God
SummaryIn this sermon, Benjamin Lee explores the profound question of life's purpose from a biblical perspective. He emphasizes that our ultimate purpose is rooted in God, focusing on the importance of fearing Him, keeping His commandments, and seeking to glorify Him in all aspects of life. Through examples from scripture, including the lives of David and Jesus, Lee illustrates how understanding our purpose can shape our actions and decisions. He concludes by reminding listeners of the eternal significance of living a life aligned with God's will, ultimately preparing for eternity with Him.TakeawaysOur purpose in life is a common question with biblical answers.Purpose is defined as an object or result aimed at, an intention.David served God's purpose in his generation, illustrating a life of purpose.Jesus came to fulfill His purpose, which was to seek and save the lost. Our ultimate purpose transcends career and education; it is rooted in God.We are created in God's image, which gives us inherent purpose.Fearing God and keeping His commandments is essential to fulfilling our purpose.Giving glory to God should be the aim of our daily actions.Everyday decisions can reflect our purpose and glorify God.Our ultimate goal is to prepare for eternity with God.Chapters00:00 Understanding Our Purpose in Life06:04 The Role of God in Defining Purpose11:53 Fearing God and Keeping His Commandments18:12 Giving Glory to God in Our Lives28:10 Preparing for Eternity: Our Ultimate PurposeBooks, Blogs, Newsletter: https://benjaminlee.blogI Can Do Podcast: https://icandopodcast.comYoutube: https://youtube.com/@icandopodcast?si=kW2BsuvcYsaQZaBv

Instead of talking about why she wrote the book, they dive straight into the theology, covering what new believers need to understand and why it matters. Key takeaways:Repentance is more than saying sorry. It's a complete change of direction and the first step of saving faith.Sin has both short-term consequences (bitterness, frustration, tragedy) and long-term consequences (standing before God).Finding the right church means looking for one that teaches the Bible in a real way, not just political agendas.Biblical worldview divides people into sinners who have found forgiveness through Jesus and those who haven't, not oppressors and oppressed.Fellowship with other believers is essential for encouragement and growth.Fearing God means making what He thinks more important than anything else.AM 1070 WINA's The Schilling Show January 27, 2026Start Strong: A New Believer's Guide to Christianity is available now wherever books are sold.Beginning February 4, join us for Season 27 of the podcast, Start Strong: A New Believer's Podcast. The sermon, drawn from Ecclesiastes 8, confronts the tension between earthly prosperity and divine justice, challenging believers to maintain a reverent fear of God amid a world that often rewards wickedness without immediate consequence. It emphasizes that God's delayed judgment is not permission to sin, but an invitation to repentance, warning against mistaking divine patience for divine approval. While the godless may enjoy temporary success and recognition, their lives are ultimately fleeting and insecure, lacking eternal foundation, whereas the God-fearing find lasting security and purpose in trusting His sovereign will. The message calls for a life rooted in eternal values, marked by obedience, humility, and hope, reminding listeners that true satisfaction is found not in worldly achievements but in fearing God and keeping His commandments, which is the whole duty of humanity.

In “Fearing God: How to Live in Exile,” Minister Kevin Howell continues through 1 Peter 3:8–22, teaching how believers can endure suffering, maintain integrity, and live faithfully in a world that opposes their values. Drawing from 1 Peter 3:14–17, Psalm 34:11–16, and Isaiah 8:12–13, Minister Howell shows that the fear of the Lord—not fear of man—is the anchor that empowers us to persevere with a good conscience. Through themes of suffering, reverence, holiness, godly character, and the example of Christ, this message reminds us that we are spiritual exiles whose courage, gentleness, and unwavering trust in God shine brightest when we face pressure and opposition.

Jesus treats those who are actively against Him with love, boldness, and truth. We follow Christ knowing that He defeats both His and our enemies, allowing us to not fear man's authority, arguments, or approval. The freedom we have is in the fear of God, the one who took our sin and shame on the cross and gives us newness of life.

"The Joy of Fearing God" - Sermon by Pastor Robert Gianserra - Luke 12:1-12
By Pastor Mike VanderpoolOn Sept. 10, 2025
In episode seven of "Safeguards Against Deception," Duane Sheriff teaches how the fear of the Lord protects believers against the deceptions and false teachings in our culture today. Fearing God is not about being afraid but about worshiping, serving, and putting God first. This Godly fear brings our hearts into alignment with God's values, cultivating a love for what He loves and a hatred for what He hates. By placing God first, we enhance our ability to discern truth from deception.https://pastorduane.com/safeguards-against-deception/
Ecclesiastes 5:1-7 When is the last time you were startled? Approaching God With what attitude should we approach God? Listening to God Why should listening to God be our first priority? Speaking to God How should we speak to God?
Exciting things happen in Nehemiah 7 with thousands of people moving back to Israel to end the captivity in Babylon as prophesied. There were some who had either not been taken into captivity or had escaped that were doing the work to keep things together until the grand reunion and restoration of Israel. This wasn’t an easy or rewarding responsibility, yet through God’s provision, these people had a God-given burden of their own to ensure the necessary work got done, even though they surely felt short-handed. What a joy they must have felt when they saw the full circle completed with the people of Israel’s return. We’ll learn this week of Hananiah, who is described as faithful and God-fearing. Really, he was faithful BECAUSE he was God-fearing. If the people around us were asked what kind of people we are, what are the characteristics that define you and me? Would it be faithful? Would it be God-fearing? These two attributes alone encompass a whole swath of implied characteristics as well, don’t they? Let’s let faithfulness and being God-fearing be how we are seen as we put into practice what we believe, even in seasons of our life that haven’t seem come full-circle yet. Key Verse: Nehemiah 7:2 - "I gave my brother Hanani and Hananiah the governor of the castle charge over Jerusalem, for he was a more faithful and God-fearing man than many." Wisdom begins with a holy reverence, or fear, for the One who created the world. He knows all things, and has deposited the ability to search out and apprehend truth to all people. However, when we don't connect true facts, or knowledge, to God, we may know things rightly but not truly.Through Scripture, Scott and Chris dive into the connection between fearing God and true knowledge. We learn how the fear of the Lord helps us see ourselves rightly, give wisdom to others, identify foolishness, and more.Ask a Mailbag QuestionFollow Us on InstagramVisit Our Website
