Barry Karcher was a contestant on the hit TV show Alone which is hosted by the History channel. Alone is by far my favorite show on the planet. On November 20, 2019, the world lost a legend. Jake Burton shaped snowboarding to what it is today. He went from redesigning the snowboard to creating competitions that grew large enough to put snowboarding in the Olympics. Aria started different then most who are into the outdoors. He started in the city. But he never let the city boundaries stop his desire for exploration. He left the city and tackled many long distance trails before creating two of his own along with writing trail guidebooks for them. James started young as a Boy Scout and soon realized how much that path of life would benefit him. He climbed in ranks as he summited peaks. James has been hiking and adventuring in the New England area for years. It wasn't until after college at Tufts, where James would embrace trekking at it's fullest. A year and a half ago, Caleb embarked on a journey that would change the course of his life. He finally got his license and he took every opportunity to climb. Now, a year and a half later, he has done 30 first ascends with his latest, Mount Massive. From what we can find, he is the first to ever rock climb Massive. "Walking Home" is a documentary about a young guy and his father setting off on a journey of a lifetime, the Appalachian Trail. They have their ups and downs but overall the documentary has inspired thousands to set off not only on their own hike, but to accomplish goals of their own. In the world, there are only 396 recorded "Triple Crowners" according to the ALDHA (American Long Distance Hiking Association), and she is one of them. Dixie started a world renowned YouTube Channel that serves as an information source for backpacking to thousands of people around the world. You may know him on the trails as "Two Clicks" or on Instagram as @northbound_ryan. He hiked the Appalachian Trail northbound in 2018 where he inspired many to follow in his footsteps. From there, he hiked the Long Trail and pulled himself off for an opportunity of a lifetime. As if thru hiking the Appalachian once wasn't enough, Ryan guided "Pappy", the world famous Tripple Crowner, who was attempting to become the oldest person to thru hike the Appalachian trail at the age of 87. Darwin has been an inspiration of mine for a long time now. He is a Thru-Hiker that has put more miles in his shoes then I have my car!
