Preached by Pastor Bob Greene at Verde Baptist Church in Cottonwood, Arizona. Scripture from Matthew 11:1-6 (This is a stand-alone message, not part of any sermon series).
Jesus had difficult people to deal with all the time. Today we will look at two examples from Scripture and from Jesus' direct dealings, in order to be equipped to deal with the difficult people in our lives.
Giving God the central place in our lives keeps the “stuff” in our lives from turning into gods. The Bible teaches that there are 3 things that will determine the way in which we live: Our Perspective, Priorities, & Personal Choice.
Today we will focus on 4 practical, financial insights that Scripture has to offer us, in order to help us handle our finances wisely.
In Hebrews we see that we are in a race called life. I believe that God wants us to understand three truths if we are going to let Him guide and direct us to a life of Gospel Transformation.
When Jesus appeared to the disciples on the evening of Easter Sunday, he gave them four gifts, the same four He presents to us today, all we have to do is accept them.
Jesus Christ is the only person in history who completely reveals salvation to us. He provides forgiveness of sin, reconciliation to a Holy God, and gives us unlimited do-overs in this game of life.
The 3rd and final sermon in the “When a Church” series. Scripture from Philippians 4:10-20.
The 2nd sermon in the “When a Church” series. Scripture from Acts 4:23-31.
The 1st sermon in the “When a Church” series. Scripture from Acts 2:42-47.
If we want to have relationships that last for the long haul, then we must be willing to extend forgiveness (i.e. Grace) to others.
You're inadequate…and so am I! We're all inadequate together! That's why this Grace thing is so powerful. That's why Jesus Christ is so awesome.
Preached by Pastor Bob Greene at The Bridge Community Church in Mesa, Arizona. Scripture from Ephesians 4:17-24 (This is a stand-alone message, not part of any sermon series).
This book closes showing what the attitude of a disobedient and ungracious heart like Jonah's will produce, and how God's gracious heart & merciful character draws us to Love God and serve others.
God's supernatural power broke Jonah's heart and restored a once disobedient prophet back to a servant of the Most High. God can change any heart, if we only cry out to Him and repent.
God uses our triumphs and mistakes to help others come to know Him. Through Jonah's unfaithfulness, the pagan sailors accepted God and faithfully vowed to serve Him.
Gods will is perfect and doesn't depend on us. The lesson is to have faith that He has our best interest in mind regardless of how our situations look or how we" feel" at a particular time.
God sent Jonah to preach because the people were relentless and persistent in their sins, they were totally depraved, and they needed a Savior. God had not forgotten them, but provided them the opportunity to repent.
One thing that many of us are learning is that Jesus works in mysterious ways. He is predictably unpredictable and He often comes to us at unexpected times, in unexpected ways.
Today we are going to examine three characters in the Christmas story and see how even in times of fear, Jesus Christ can help us all live by faith!
Only the person who is built on the foundation of obedience to Gods Word stands secure during trials. Hearing, believing and doing the things Jesus taught is the only thing that counts.
Today we begin a four-week series entitled, “The Ultimate Hero” where we will learn more about Gods Ultimate Hero- Jesus Christ.
Our human insights are never enough. As we trust in Jesus and acknowledge Him, we find that He directs our path. Jesus is the only Guide we will ever need in our Ultimate Journey called life.
This Thursday is Thanksgiving. Lets be people who are thankful for all God has done for us through the sacrifice of Jesus. Let us remember that lost people matter to God, and they should matter to us!
In the journey of life we all need traveling companions. This life is full of uncertainty and treachery and we cannot make the journey alone. But we must also be careful about who goes with us.
We all need direction on this journey called life. What better way to explore the destination God has mapped out for each of our lives than through Scripture?
Today we are going to finish our series entitled, "American Idols." This week we will look at a fourth and final Idol that is specifically American in nature: Success.
This week we are going to try to answer the questions, “what does the Bible say about Beauty and Appearance, how can we know if they are idols for us, and what can we do about it?”
We are attempting to define some of the issues that often come between God and His people. This week we examine what I think is the second idol in America: Sex.
Today we are beginning a new sermon series entitled, “American Idols”. An idol is anything that comes before God in our lives. Today we will look at what is probably the most easily identifiable idol in America: Money.
