Well then you're in the right place because today we're talking all about Civil Air Patrol. CAP was founded back in 1941, only a few days before Pearl Harbor. CAP has done lots of missions for the USAF since then, we go into detail about this in the early stages of the episode. Jared worked testing several different things for the AF, including guided bombs, and he has some pretty crazy stories about different projects he worked on, including launching ICBMs at small Pacific Islands to test their operational ability. Now he works at AFWerx, which deals with helping people gain a contract from the military for various ideas/prototypes that they want to sell to the military, as well as testing products to compete for a contract. He was a part of the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993, where he was credited with saving the team that he was working with. He wrote another book about the first AF Medal of Honor since Vietnam, about fellow CCT John Chapman who saved the lives of a SEAL team by making the ultimate sacrifice.
