In this episode, Captain Troels “TEO” Vang joins The Afterburn Podcast host, John “Rain” Waters. As one of the most experienced F-16 pilots in the Royal Danish Air Force, TEO offers an in-depth look into the life of a European Viper driver with more than two decades of combat aviation experience. From missions over Libya, Iraq, Syria, and the Baltics to leading Denmark's F-16 solo display team across Europe, TEO shares powerful insights into tactical flying, military leadership, and the future of fighter aviation. He and Rain discuss the cultural and structural contrasts between the U.S. and Danish Air Forces, and how Denmark's 37-hour workweek model may be the secret to long-term pilot retention. TEO also unpacks the evolution of the Danish demo jet—including the iconic “Dannebrog” paint scheme honoring the world's oldest national flag and the F-16's 50th anniversary. Whether he's intercepting Russian aircraft or wowing crowds at international airshows, Captain TEO exemplifies the mindset and mission of the fighter pilot brotherhood.

Hello!Welcome BACK to the Flight Attendant Forum! Thank you ALL SO much for those who have downloaded and listened to the FFF up to this point as chapter X comes to you on this weeks installment!I do apologize for the delay I know it is Monday for the release of this episode, I am doing the best I can to stay around the Friday uploads so bare with me! For this weeks episode, I was in Seattle, Washington at the absolutely stunning Museum of Flight! A bucket list item for me, it was imperative that I connected with someone who would be willing to come on the show and discuss all things aviation! Fortunately, Ted Huetter answered the call and was a gracious guest as we dove into all things flight. Moreover, Ted discussed his love for flying, air acrobatics, and connecting with the community. The museum has long yearned for a way to connect with the people of Seattle and recently they have helped bring in myriad local artists to display their pieces throughout the museum as a way to show their talents. In addition, the museum has curated events from fashion shows, drag brunches, and weddings. It is truly a place that can create life long memories as planes take off and land on premise just a few feet away. Some highlights of the museum include the first Boeing 747 ever built, the 3rd 787 ever built, and one of the only last standing supersonic Concorde jets in existence to this day ( that was my favorite). Over the next couple of weeks I look forward to bringing more stories and tidbits to you from my flying partners. If you would like to be part of the show please please reach out! Don't be shy! You can find me on instagram which is where the crux of all things show related will take place! If you have any questions or topics you want me to over please do not hesitate to reach out! This was a super crossword, and we're not just saying it because 51D, Superman, most of the time, KENT, flew into the grid. Rather it's because of an ingenious theme (deets inside), and some very timely clueing -- SMOG, COALMINE, and AIRSHOWS (literally!). There were some other fine clues as well, such as 39A, Having a fermented quality, WINY; 22A, Fabric derived from wood pulp, RAYON (huh!); and 45A, Noted sea shell seller, SHE (nice!). We approve, 5 squares on the JAMCR scale.Contact Info:We love listener mail! Ed Parsons, the Google Maps guy, is our guest today. He's heard the Concorde prototype noise as a kid, flown on the Concorde before it got retired, explored all the Concordes in existence around the world since — a true fan — and we discuss it all, from the history to the conspiracy theories, to a certain nostalgia about a future that's now in the past. He is also a GGL, Gold Guest List, the (almost) top tier British Airways status, which gives him access to the exclusive Concorde Rooms (yes, there's more than one), and we learn about more the extra perks, whilst we discuss the not-exactly-great state of current BA, and Heathrow. Ed tells us about the many Air Shows he's toured (and photographed!), and of the amazing BRR beach airport (Otter it is, but no Maldives temperatures).
