Sermon at the 13:13 mark. Bulletin: Holy Innocents Bulletin Congregation at Prayer, 12/29/24: Congregation at Prayer, 12/29
On December 28th, the 4th Day of Christmas, the Church celebrates the Feast of St. Holy Innocents, the first martyrs of the faith after the Nativity of our Lord. They are considered to be martyrs not of will, but of dead. Meaning, they did not die knowingly for the faith and against their mothers' will, but in fact did so die. Celebrating their feast day this close to Christmas reminds us that if we die for Christ, we do not die alone; for Christ was born to die for us, and if we die for and in him, we will not be forgotten by Him. The Holy Innocents is the 3rd feast of the three companions of Christ during the 12 days of Christmas. Bulletin: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SGPxYkLuN4g-H_DSXwNcD05HgznQsvss/view?usp=sharing

Bulletin: Christmas Eve 24
On December 26th, the 2nd Day of Christmas, the Church celebrates the Feast of St. Stephen, the first (proto) martyr of the faith after the Ascension of our Lord. He is considered a martyr both of will and deed, meaning he was willing to die for the faith and in fact did so. Celebrating his feast day right after Christmas reminds us that Christ's birth was for the purpose of dying for our sins; and as we die with Him, so also will we rise with Him. St. Stephen is the 1st feast of the three companions of Christ during the 12 days of Christmas. Bulletin: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ntp5iEn9YGu-6E2Ex0aodgdMrcoT0BR7/view?usp=sharing
Sermon at the 1 9:08 mark. Bulletin: Advent 4 Bulletin Congregation at Prayer, 12/22/24: Congregation at Prayer, 12/22/24
On December 21st, the Church celebrates the feast day of St. Thomas, the Apostle. Known widely as "Doubting Thomas," we hear today how Christ loveed Thomas, filled with unbelief, and with the Word restored him to the faith, to the point where tradition holds that Thomas brought the Gospel from Jerusalem to India, where he was martyred. On December 13th, the Church commemorates and celebrates St. Lucy of Syracuse. While St. Lucy is not as well known in America as she is in Europe, still hers is a story about the martyrdom of a girl at a young age. Over the centuries, her story is filled with as much legend as it is historical fact, and led to many Christian European celebrations and traditions that may have be wrapped up in our own Christmas celebrations here.
