One thing you must understand is that temptation is a continual battle. It is not a one-off. We must daily overcome temptation because it will always come; you will be tempted to lie, tempted to compromise, tempted to twist your words, tempted to........ The list is endless. That you have overcome one temptation does not mean another will not come, it will always look for an opportunity to present itself. As a Christian, you can not become complacent.
As children, we understand who God is from our parents until we come to a stage where we can know God for ourselves. We see the real God through our parents' eyes. Our perception of God as children was primarily developed by our parents' example, our relationship with them, especially with our fathers. If we see intolerance, self-centeredness, unforgiveness, lack of trust, and frequent anger, there is a likelihood that we will think that is how God is, and this may provoke a negative attitude towards God's authority later in life. That will be our image of God.
See yourself through God's eyes; when you do, you will see where you will be instead of where you are. I don't see you small; I see you great. Only in my eyes will you see your true self and not the eyes of the media.
You don't know where you need to be more than the shepherd does. God may never lead you to the specific pasture you're yearning for, but as the Shepherd, He will surely bring you to your best destination.
I am never in a hurry; I make it happen at the right time. My ways are higher than your ways; never say I am wasting your time. I have your best interest at heart. All you see now is not all there is to what you can have in me. Reach in and be confident in my timing.
When is the last time you look at yourself as God's unique, chosen child that you are? Shake off insecurities and defeating mindset. The only solid and enduring self-worth is God's opinion. Build your life around it and fill your conversations with it. Never settle for less than God's best.
