Are you exhausted from trying to force things to happen in your own strength? Discover how your greatest breakthrough is actually waiting for you to face your fears and start wrestling with God. In this message by Elliott Warren, we explore why we often try to fulfill God's promises through our own works—just like Abraham did with Ishmael—and why that ultimately limits what God wants to do in our lives. You'll learn the profound difference between casual prayer and the persistent, fervent prayer that truly gets results. By looking at the life-changing story of Jacob wrestling with God, this sermon will equip you to stop striving, let go of what isn't meant for you, and cling to God for your true blessing. If you're tired of running and ready for a transformation, this message is for you. 00:00:00 - Introduction: Finding Victory in Daily Struggles 00:08:37 - Why God Transforms Us Through Encounters 00:16:20 - The Breakthrough Hiding Behind Your Fears 00:24:25 - The Power of Fervent, Persistent Prayer 00:27:57 - What It Really Means to Wrestle With God 00:46:00 - Stop Trying to Force It: The Lesson of Ishmael 00:53:30 - The Danger of Attaching Your Heart to the Wrong Thing 00:58:08 - How to Let Go and Trust God's Plan If this message encouraged you, please subscribe to our channel and share it with a friend who needs to hear it! #sermon #church #faith #Jesus #christianity #trustinggod #lettinggo #spiritualbreakthrough #wrestlingwithgod #overcomingfear #stopstriving #faithjourney #findingpurpose #christianmotivation #surrender Welcome to the official channel of Cross Culture Global, the digital-first media ministry of Cross Culture Church, led by Pastor Elliott Warren. His Grace Bishop Gregory reflects on the commandment to love God with all heart, soul, mind, and strength as the foundation for inheriting eternal life. He explores how true love for God demands fervent labor and zeal in serving Him, emphasizing that this inner fervency transforms even small acts into offerings pleasing to God. Bishop Gregory explains that this zeal sustains believers through the challenges of following God's commandments, making what seems burdensome into a source of spiritual joy. He also highlights how a fervent spirit protects against temptation, likening it to a fire that wards off intrusion. By meditating on Scripture and seeking God's help to “enlarge the heart,” believers can develop this fervent spirit, enabling their spiritual efforts to be accepted by God and leading to joy and perseverance in the Christian life. Romans 12:11-13, Galatians 6:9, Revelation 2:4, Matthew 26:36-40, 1 Thessalonians Nations and individuals can cry out for God's blessing in times of crisis, yet quickly return to earthly concerns and casual faith. Believers might begin with a fervent love for God, lose their first love, growing weary in doing good, and becoming slothful in zeal. Scripture calls us to remain watchful, fervent in spirit, constant in prayer, and to grow more and more in faith. #FirstLove #DontGrowWeary #FerventInSpirit #ZealForGod

What does Jesus mean when he says, "I would that you were either cold or hot"?He most definitely is not using "cold" as a negative category and "hot" as a positive category and "lukewarm" as a mixture of the two.Jesus wants us to be cold or hot. But what does that mean?

What if the reason God feels silent… isn't because you're not praying hard enough, but because He's inviting you to stop striving? In this episode, I unpack what fervent prayer actually means — and why it has far less to do with intensity, volume, or emotional force than we've been taught. True fervency isn't spiritual hustle. It's submission. I talk about how real fervent prayer aligns us with God's will rather than trying to bend His hand, and how that alignment often brings peace long before it brings answers. This kind of prayer doesn't always change the situation right away, but it does change our posture, our discernment, and our trust. I also share a grounded, Scripture-rooted framework for practicing fervent prayer in everyday life — especially in seasons when God feels quiet, direction feels unclear, or you're tempted to push harder instead of listen deeper. If you're a Christian author, writer, or message-carrier who feels worn down from trying to "make things happen" in your calling, your book sales, or your income, this episode is an invitation to pause, realign, and return to the heart posture God responds to. Because God is not moved by our hustle. He responds to a surrendered heart.

The chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people, meanwhile, were seeking to put him to death, but they could find no way to accomplish their purpose because all the people were hanging on his words. Luke 19:47–48Jesus had just entered Jerusalem for the upcoming Feast of Passover. He arrived in that holy city and then returned again the next day and entered the Temple area. As He witnessed the corruption of those selling animals for the Temple sacrifices, Jesus responded with fervent preaching in an attempt to cleanse the Temple from this corruption. He quoted the Prophet Isaiah and cried out, “It is written, My house shall be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves.” Luke's Gospel points out the reaction of the chief priests, the scribes and the leaders of the people. They were “seeking to put him to death.” However, as the Gospel further relates, “they could find no way to accomplish their purpose because all the people were hanging on his words.”It's important to consider this passage within its context. The words that Jesus spoke were words that sought to cleanse the Temple of corruption. With the approval of the temple priests, who benefitted from the temple tax, there were many people who were using the practice of divine worship to make a profit for selfish gain, turning the Temple into a marketplace. Jesus could see this clearly, and many of the people would have also sensed the corruption of these practices. Though they needed to purchase animals for the ritual sacrifices and Passover meal, many of them were most likely disturbed by this abuse. Therefore, as Jesus spoke with fervor and condemnation, it angered those who were responsible for the corruption but left the people with consolation. Hence, they were “hanging on his words.”The Gospel is always consoling, and, for those who are open, it leads them to hang on every word that is spoken. It refreshes and invigorates, clarifies and motivates. Usually when we think of the Gospel, we think of words that are gentle and inviting—words of mercy to the sinner and compassion for those who are struggling. But sometimes the pure Gospel message from our Lord fiercely attacks sin and evil. And though this may be shocking to the evil doers, to those with pure faith, these words also refresh and strengthen.Today, we need the full Gospel message. Many need to hear Jesus' gentle invitation to conversion by which their heavy burdens are lifted. But many others need to hear His firm words of condemnation. And the Church as a whole needs both of these messages to be proclaimed if we are to fully participate in the apostolic ministry of our Lord. Only our Lord has the right to condemn, chastise, and call others to repentance. But we are all called to share in this mission of our Lord. And though we do not have the right to judge the hearts of others, when we see objective evil and disorder within our world and even within our Church, we must cry out with our Lord, “My house shall be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves.” And when we do hear the holy and inspired words of God's messengers who boldly and courageously proclaim the truth and call others to repentance, it should inspire, invigorate and console us as we find ourselves hanging on their every word.Reflect, today, upon the Gospel messages that need to be preached in our day and age that are both inspired by God and are also fervently directed at corruption within the world and even within our Church. Allow yourself to support such holy preaching and to be inspired by it. Hang on these holy words of God's prophets today. As you do, God will protect them and inspire them to continue His holy mission of purification. My purifying Lord, the corruption within our world, and at times even within our Church, requires Your holy preaching and purifying action. Please send Your messengers to those in need so that all may be cleansed as You cleansed the Temple. May I share in this mission in the ways in which You call me, and may I always hang on every word spoken from Your merciful and fervent heart of love. Jesus, I trust in You. He points to the Fed's expanded activities since 2008, including "subsidizing Wall Street," and alleged missteps that contributed to inflation and a problematic housing market. Cochrane argues for a more limited Fed, focused strictly on inflation, to preserve its independence and public trust, suggesting that its broadened scope jeopardizes its core mission and credibility. 1888 BANK OF ENGLAND TEN POUND NOTE
