Free Podcast Downloads As Christians, we commonly use the word salvation to mean being “born again.” We talk about being saved or not saved, but what does that really mean? In its most straightforward understanding, it means that by putting our faith or our trust in Jesus Christ, we are saved. Our faith is in Jesus alone, and as a result of that faith, we believe that His crucifixion, death, and resurrection purchased something that we could never obtain on our own. We believe that faith in Jesus has caused the following: our sins to be forgiven, a restored relationship with God the Father, His Holy Spirit to come live in us and that we will have eternal life with God in Heaven! If the above is what you believe, then you are absolutely correct; however, there is more! These facts of being forgiven, in a proper relationship with the Father, and knowing you have eternal life are the beginning of understanding what being “born-again” means. As the term born again implies, you have been spiritually reborn, and this rebirth not only changes your spirit, but it also changes your soul and body.

By Perseverance, We Secure Our Lives: A Christian Journey By your perseverance, you will secure your life. What is the ultimate goal of Christian life? Is it happiness? Perhaps happiness is a consequence, but it is not the goal! Is it eternal life? Again, while it may be a result, it is not the primary goal! Is it to love others? Yes, that may be a beautiful outcome, but it is still not the goal! What about receiving praise or honor? No, that too might happen, but it is not the purpose. What is the Goal of Christian Life? So, what is the goal of Christian life? It is to live in truth—not truth as we perceive it, nor as the world defines it, but truth as God reveals it. This question of truth came up in the Gospel we celebrated last week for the Solemnity of Christ the King. In His dialogue with Pontius Pilate, Jesus declared, “I came to testify to the truth, and anyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.” When Pilate asked, “What is truth?” no immediate answer was given. Yet we know from John 14 that Jesus had already told His disciples, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” Living in truth means living in Jesus. And Jesus warns us: those who live in truth should expect challenges, sufferings, and even persecution. Parents, siblings, and friends may turn against us. The world may misunderstand or hate us. Yet, Jesus assures us that by our perseverance, we will secure our lives—not merely this earthly life, but eternal life. By Our Perseverance Persecution for faith is not abstract. It happens daily. Some are denied the right to worship freely. Others face ridicule or violence. Jesus Himself tells us that persecution is inevitable for those who follow Him. Hear more within the Homily! Despite this, Jesus calls us to persevere. This perseverance secures not our earthly comfort, but eternal life. Let us pray for those living in hostile environments who struggle to keep their faith. May we receive the strength and courage to endure. And let us pray for ourselves, that we may never persecute others through our words or actions. Listen more to this Homily. Among his works was a painting of St. Joseph holding the Infant Christ. A detail from this painting became known as The Light of the World. Between 1920 and 1940, millions of copies of the image were sold. Notably, a print of it is visible on the priest's desk in the 1948 film The Miracle of the Bells.
Enjoy this “throwback” episode from the Woman at the Well Ministries radio program, as Kim Miller brings us a message out of through I Peter 2:19-21, which says, “For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps:” Do you want to connect with Kim and Erika? Welcome to the Christian Bible Study Ministry podcast! In today's episode, we delve into the profound connections between two seemingly distinct passages: Luke 9:62 and Hebrews 6:1-12. Our exploration will reveal how these scriptures intertwine to provide a compelling message about commitment, growth, and the true cost of discipleship. We begin by reflecting on the words of Jesus in Luke 9:62, emphasizing the importance of steadfastness in our spiritual journey. Just as a farmer must keep their eyes forward while plowing, believers must remain focused on their faith to produce a fruitful spiritual harvest. Next, we turn to Hebrews 6:1-12, a passage that challenges us to move beyond elementary teachings and mature in our faith. We discuss the dangers of falling back into old ways and the necessity of perseverance to avoid producing "thorns and thistles" in our spiritual lives. Join us as we draw parallels between these powerful scriptures, offering insights and encouragement for anyone striving to deepen their commitment to Christ. Whether you're facing personal struggles or seeking to support others in their faith journey, this episode provides valuable lessons on the importance of spiritual diligence and growth. Tune in, be inspired, and remember: the work of faith is continuous and requires dedication. Let's keep our hands to the plow and our eyes on the path ahead.

Sometimes it takes a leap of faith. Literally. It was a leap with no real landing spot for this creative genius when he packed his vehicle and headed off to the entertainment capital of LOS ANGELES. His only destination for sure was a storage unit there for his possessions. His wife and five kids were dropped off with friends in Redding and he was headed for a God inspired adventure into the wild world of acting....voice acting. No home, no job, just a promise from God that this was where he needed to be. God's never wrong. Jonathan listened and responded to the call, in faith, and is now a successful talent in one of the most competitive industries in the world. His cast of character voices, set him apart from most, and his "story teller" voice is smooth, natural and able to relate any story with ease. Bible verses, book readings and musical vocals he does it all. In this episode you will hear his work, get to know this warm and loving Christian man, and walk away inspired by his life story and Christian Journey. Jonathan Cotton and his story are indeed AMAZING!If you are struggling with a major life decision or have taken your own leap of faith at some point...you will be able to relate to what listening and responding looks likeWhat's next for Jonathan? We asked. I loved his answer. ___________________________________________________________Also in this conversation we mentioned another voice talent we talked to in Episode #12 , Melissa Disney. We briefly brought up another actor who has become the voice of the Bible on the YouVersion App, Max Maclean, our guest on Episode #24. #voicetalent, #Jonathancotton, #voiceactor, #amazon, #jeffBezos,#animation"Amazing Greats" is a library of interviews with highly successful people who have amazing career and life stories and who share how God has impacted their journey. Each Christian is on a journey, and the destination is heaven, where Jesus has ascended to His Fathers right hand. While we wait for the Lords call to heaven, we are all on a journey, and there are four features we need for this journey. In this address, you will hear of these four features. Firstly, the need to have an altar—a daily communication with God himself through prayer. Secondly, the importance of finding food to sustain you along our journey. Thirdly, when difficulties come, we are not to be diverted from the divine highway. The fourth feature is to keep our eye on the heavenly goal. The post Four Features needed for the Christian Journey appeared first on Preachers Corner.

They are rejected by family, lose jobs and face other forms of persecution when they tell others of their faith in Jesus. Many of these persecuted Christians don't know how each day will end. They rely on the Lord for strength and hope, despite their fear. Listen as Pastor Joe shares the story of a young woman in his congregation who was overjoyed to share her new faith with her family. But when she did, she was beaten and thrown into the streets. Her own mother told her, “I would rather know that my daughter became a prostitute than a Christian.” Pastor Joe encourages listeners to not flee from danger and potentially miss blessings and service that God has planned for us. He reminds us that Jesus came to earth knowing He would suffer. He says that, as a Christian, we should also know that persecution will come. Hear the story of one young man who encouraged other believers until the final moments of his life. In addition, Joe shares of a married couple who kept their faith a secret from each other—until they ran into each other at a Christian meeting! Pray God would call believers in North Africa to stay in their communities and serve. Pray Pastor Joe and his family will remain faithful to the Lord and His calling on their lives and for continued protection over their ministry.

In our Gospel reading from St. John chapter 4, we have the testimony of the healing of the nobleman's son by our Lord Jesus Christ. This is one of a number of examples showing how our Lord knows how to bring someone with a weaker and less mature faith to a stronger and more mature faith. He takes the nobleman on a journey knowing precisely how to relate to him so that the nobleman would truly come to know Him. This is the faith journey of us all.

Welcome to week three of our Jackpot series where we learned all about the HOPE that we have in Jesus! Biblical hope is rock-solid confidence - you can NEVER dream too big when it comes to God. Oftentimes in today's world circumstances and situations can feel hopeless. But we learn in this week's message that we can always rejoice in the hope of the glory of God because God's glory is where our hope comes from. We can rest in the fact that we are a part of the Christian Journey that God has laid out for us - Justification, sanctification, and glorification. All of our hopes are accomplished in this journey we are on. Romans 5:3-5We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame.Join us this weekend as we appreciate the present but long for the future in hope.Let us know you're here! 1/29/2023 Andrew Chung 2 Corinthians 6:1-10 English Standard Version 6 Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain. 2 For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 3 We put no obstacle in anyone's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry, 4 but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, 5 beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger; 6 by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love; 7 by truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left; 8 through honor and dishonor, through slander and praise. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; 9 as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and yet not killed; 10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything.
