3 blokes who could have been anything, but chose to have fun instead. Hosted By Groper, Tommy and Jace, self proclaimed Reggies who carry the torch for blokes who still believe in the old school culture. Pub yarns about on (and off) field heroics, and war stories absolutely dripping in mayo. We dabble in the weekly footy, cricket and sports news in general, then round up with a healthy dose of punting. This show, is music to the Reggies ears. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Tommy and Jace take the reigns this episode, the great and powerful G1G is off saving the world one aircon, fan and lightbulb at a time. Plenty still to be spoken about this week on the punting front! We stay in SA for the Group 1 with the South Australian Derby, take your picking in this one. Magic Round begins Friday evening and Neds are delivering some mouth watering markets that reach right out to the two blokes on the panel. As always, we have a punt on a greyhound thanks to the Love A greyhound Organisation, and throw our Neds Dart of the week. Download the Neds app today, join our group with the code THEREGGIES. Hold onto your hats because we had no Quinn and no Tommy Dahl here this week which meant we were in for a whirlwind of an episode! Plenty going on. Robert Sangster Stakes at Morphettville for the Group 1 and clearly barbs has the shits with Gropes getting his questions right because this week we went back to the 1970's. Seriously. Lots of Anzac footy bets, plenty of NZ racing, in particular Pike runners. Keato is clearly rubbing off on the listeners! The Quokka in WA attracted some attention and we head up to Eagle Farm for dart of the week. Enjoy Anzac Day ladies and gentlemen, amazing day on the Australian calendar in which we reflect and show our respects as well as watch some spine-tingling sport. All the best! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
It's fight week for T.Dahl as he heads off to the GC for the Podcast Royale 2.0! Goodluck to all the fighters, hope you have put in the work and put on a cracking show for the fans. Both codes of footy is impossible to tip at the minute but after a belter of an easter round, Anzac round is upon us! Easily one of the biggest days of the footy year in the AFL, bucket list item for many to attend the mighty MCG on Anzac Day. Oscar Piastri wins another Grand Prix! Move over Lando Norris there's a new sheriff in town at McLaren. Some beaut UFC and boxing cards this Sunday morning and dare we say it you'll probably catch Tommy Dahl at the sports bar of the casino bright and early to watch those, he's already set his alarm. Shout out to Neds and CTC we love having them on board for 2025, see ya Anzac morning for the punt show. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
All Aged Stakes Day at Randwick to round out their carnival, that is where we are heading for our Group 1 segment. Gropers greyhound was absolute heartbreak this week, Hobart race 2 sunk us. Barbs and Butts are spreading the wings this week, some juicy juicy odds in their bet slips. No groundbreaking betting for Keato this week but double figure odds for his pick. Hope everyone can make it to the Flinton races this Easter, an absolute hoot of a time in store! Enjoy Easter, enjoy time with the family and rip in on the Rex Hunt. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
No 'A' in Parmi guys, ask Tommy Dahl. Hey Penrith might be shit now? And that's okay because they won 4 in a row, can't really argue with that! Big chat on the Leniu/JT run in after the game at Suncorp, as well as covering the Lachie Galvin situation at the Tigers. FYI, we had already recorded before his post/broke his silence on the matter so just woo up. Gather round is done and dusted for another year. Some good games, some average games but one thing for sure they need to come up with a way to get more games at the AO. 5 for the whole weekend isn't enough. The lions are seriously just taking the piss now surely? And how good was Bailey Smith flipping the Crows crowd off, love his work. Huge chat about Rory's win at the Masters, the pressure relief valve was slung fully open after he made that putt in the playoff, well done to him. How good was the Volk! Unreal to see him comeback and win the featherweight title, totally dominate in his win and looking forward to see him rise again. No weird sport this week unfortunately ran out of time, massive show coming up for the punt show Friday, we'll see yas then! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Volk by Points' would've been the episode name if we needed one. The nation is behind him this weekend in his comeback fight in the UFC! Another cracking episode of the punt show, Queen Elizabeth Stakes day at Royal Randwick it doesn't get much better. All the usual suspects ring in with their bets and more groundbreaking action from Keato after lasts weeks effort. Listener this week (Alex Jones) has one of the all time great call ins, well played mate love ya work, we are even rooting for your bets to get up so we can hear from him again next week. Tommy and Jace bring you this weeks episode covering all sports from the weekend and weekend ahead. Red is out of the nest and talks about the move, and tom gives us an insight on his big weekend at the rockynats and PBR. NRL is still unpredictable for another week, is Penrith in the mud or will they return? The boys start taking some geography and climate into account for the tipping because logic doesnt seem to work. Huge round in the AFL ahead in Adelaide with Gather round, some mouth watering fixtures. We wrap the weekend up with the great Alexander Volkanovski returning to the octogon. If you're not riding with volk then we don't wanna hear it. Huge shoutout to CTC for being apart of the show and providing us captain of the week! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Tell ya what we absolutely love doing the punt show, such a fun time and so many laughs! The greyhound segment gets a much-needed boost with some major major juju at Wentworth Park. Day 1 of the championships at Randwick, Easter Cup at Caulfield and Yabby Pump at Eagle Farm! Keato comes in with a ground breaking 2 leg multi, Pedro and Rocket are back doing what they know and love. Barbs calls in and throws a doozy of a question Gropes way about the TJ Smith Stakes, what a race that is going to be just quietly! Hope everyone has a ripper weekend, one of the great 2 day in Australian racing gets underway at Randwick and we cannot wait! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
April fools' jokes are flying around everywhere so be careful what you get sucked into this week. One thing is certain and that is the Sheffield Shield final was an absolute belter! Highlighted how much better the long format of cricket is. Buzz Rothfield decided to pour a tub of mayonnaise on a news story regarding high tackles in the Rugby League. Carlton and the Demons are on everyone's agenda after they are both in trouble for season 2025, if Carlton can jag a win against Collingwood this week it will turn their season around. Min Woo Lee got his first win on the PGA tour, absolutely love seeing a bloke with a bit of character get a win, not to mention a win for Australia! Tim Tszyu is back this Sunday in Newcastle, has not taken an easy fight to comeback to so good luck to him. Have a great week and we will catch ya Friday for the punt show. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
One of the best shows of the year so far, we had a heap of fun and so many bloody laughs! Barbs has given Gropes a new job during the Group 1 segment so we will have to see how he does each week! Australia Cup week and that is where we head for the Group 1, who could ever forget Lonhro's win in 04'. A bit of mid yarn poly was wielded after Barbs stepped out of line. Plenty of double ups in the bets, we are all taking each other on in multiple races across the country. Should be horrendous conditions at Doomben this Saturday but good luck to Yabby Pump on the weekend! We are still in shock after a member of the punt show team has gone against the Yabby, what were you thinking! Shout out to Neds for helping put the show on, we can't get enough of them! Join our Neds group on the app: THEREGGIES is the access code. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Had to cover the big story of DCE and Manly obviously but what an A grade carry on! Bit of mis communication and classically blown out of proportion? Onto the footy, NRL refereeing on the tip of everyone's tongues except the coaches of teams who are banned from speaking about the refs. Surely, we need to let them have an opinion on certain decisions being made on the field? Some big upsets in the AFL over the weekend in some parts of the country while it was back to business as usual for others. Little bit more off field drama for the demons because they have enough going on already. Skye Nicolson failed to defend her WBC featherweight title on Saturday night after Tiara Brown got the split decision victory. Bit of UFC, footy tips go in, weird sport of the week and Oscar Piastri wins the CTC captain of the week after his win at the Chinese GP! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Massive weekend ahead Reggies! Big gropes is out this week, still has the first and last word with a few drive by's, what do you expect. Bulk group 1 racing this Saturday, the one we have chosen is none other than the Golden slipper of course, a few uncanny bets in that one. Plenty more before that at Rosehill, J Mac has had his absolute pick this week. Your usual spread of Ba' multis, AFL multis and they've got some with juicy odds as well. Huuuuge shoutout to our new wagering partner Neds, it's time to take it to the Ned's level Reggies. Download the app and start punting with them. As always, Gamble responsibly and we will see you next Wednesday! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Tom returns from the F1 with plenty of yarns and some very good excuses as to why he was on the MCG with a Collingwood flag. We take a quick look at the Sheffield Shield as the last round wrapped up. Plenty of rugby league to cover, not just on the field but off it as well! Friday night's games couldn't have gone more against the script, as per usual. Dark days for Carlton after losing to group of kids, let's stop talking about how bad they are and focus on Richmond and how good they were! Sammy Lalor might have had some extra dm's after his sword said hello to the world out the bottom of his strides. Big boxing cards this weekend with Kambosos and Nicolson fighting in the home land. The players championship ended up in a playoff and the infamous 17th at Sawgrass struck again. Heaps of laughs and plenty of sports covered hence the length of episode! Hope you all enjoyed it, see you Friday for the punt show. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Coolmore Classic Day on Saturday as well as Vobis Day at Caulfield! Huge news on the show this week with the announcement of our brand-new wagering partner. Have a listen for juicy details. It was a huge show, Old Boys are wound up, Bananas are fired up and the listener is full of energy! Bets all around the country and even across the ditch for the NRL. We hope everyone has a ripper weekend, good luck on the punt and we will see ya Wednesday for the sports show. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Jersey Day boys and girls! 6pm EST tonight the 12th March, the 2025 Reggies Jersey will be for sale. Head to thereggies.com.au to get amongst the action. We had to mention India winning the Champions Trophy unfortunately, huge asterisk next to it though let's be honest. Onto the footy and we try to focus on some of the bigger news like the Dylan Brown signing, Payne Haas and the Broncos, Manly and Melbourne to name a few. We wrap up the Opening Round of the AFL, massive win for Hawthorn up in Sydney and we had to talk about the magpies and particularly whether or not they are under done. Heaps of UFC wrap up and a big look ahead to some futures in the boxing world including tonight's No Limit card involving Brock Jarvis. You would not believe it but Tom Dahl is heading the Formula 1 this weekend in Melbourne, already excited for next week's sports show to get his take on it all. Players' Championship weekend at TPC Sawgrass in the golf, it's all happening and we love it! See ya at the jersey drop! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Newmarket Handicap week, very old race with a very rich history and this year's field looks like a belter! Barbs had to ratchet strap his horses down to the floor but didn't stop him from giving us some insight on the race, good luck to everyone in the south east corner, Alfred will be gone before you know it. This weeks dart was brought to you by The Reggies Podcast, great little show go give them a listen. The listener has gone rogue and put some bets on where we have never been before in the show's history! Absolutely love his work. Looking forward to the weekend with footy, racing, and fighting all featuring heavily on the TV! Rip in Reggies and we will see you next Wednesday for not only the sports show but the JERSEY DROP. 6pm EST 12th March Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
We hope everyone hangs in there in the south east corner of QLD this weekend, big Alf is on his way so quick! Get out and buy 650 rolls of shit paper NOW! Vegas weekend is over for another year and we think it will only keep getting better and better, big props to the Jillaroo's. Yes, the poms absolutely have some work to do but can't take anything away from the girls. Penrith and Cronulla showcased the game perfectly in the blockbuster clash, and we are pretty sure Canberra won the comp after their celebrations post match. You would think there must have be some rescheduling in the AFL opening round with games set to be played in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Looking forward to a cracking game of Friday Night Footy with the Swans and Hawks at the SCG. Great effort on the No Limit card from Vegas Larfield and Liam Wilson. Fair bit of heat in the Wilson fight but good to see the boys shake hands and sort it out post fight. Ya wouldn't believe it but there was a bit of controversy in a big boxing bout between Tank Davis and Lamont Roach, wouldn't be a big fight without it. Everyone will be gee'd up for Alex Pereira this weekend at UFC 313, very interesting to see what his opponents game plan will be! Chucky Sanders very stiff not to get captain of the week again after his effort in the Dubai Desert Classic, but this show is ruthless. Look forward to seeing yas Friday morning for the punt show, all the best! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Australian Guinea's week at Flemington and Verry Elegant Stakes day at Randwick. Not to mention the NRL being back so here come the same game multis. Jace was away but got all his bets sent through, barbs give us the run down on the Group 1 and Tom reckons the old boys can't do it without him. We said goodbye to a sponsor this week, which was sad however The Reggies are very thankful for the time and effort Betr put into us over the last 18 months. Good luck on the punt this weekend reggies, we are right back in the thick of it now! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
We are right in the thick of sport at the moment with the champions trophy underway, NRL and AFL seasons on the verge of starting, unbelievable boxing/UFC fights, Group racing heating up and even the V8 supercars was off its head last weekend! Josh Inglis take a bloody bow what performance against the poms in our opening game of the champions trophy, barely got out of second gear and put on an absolute clinic all be it on a road. Trial games in both codes of footy before the Vegas weekend and the start of the 2025 NRL season on Sunday. Hudson Old and Morgan Smithies decided to get the party started early, just a classic case of jet lag and the boys on edge! How good was the V8's finish on the weekend between Cam Waters and Broc Feeney! Surely what they were doing was not allowed but it made for great television. Two Aussie UFC title fights coming right up please and thank you; I think the whole world will be rooting for Jack Della Madalena when he fights for the Welterweight title against the jock sniffing Belal Muhammad. We recap an amazing fight between Bivol and Beterbiev, what an absolute war! Thanks to CTC and Betr for helping out with today's episode we can't thank them enough! See ya Friday for punting. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The first real big day of the Autumn is upon us at Caulfield with 3 Group 1's B2B2B! We head to the Oakleigh Plate for the G1 segment and cannot wait for this race as it's a cracker field. Barbs is roaring like a lion after his hot start to the year as you would expect, roar away son! Pedro on fire as well, young guns can't wait for footy to start so he gets back to losing 8 leg multis again. Thanks to Betr for another cracking episode, download the app and start punting with them. Heaps of promos including a belter for Mr. Brightside this weekend. All the best! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
All 3 boys join yas in the studio to do a bit of a preview for the NRL and AFL for 2025. Top 8 predictions are in after reviewing some trials and simulations, some hot takes and some not so hot. The aussies get rolled in the ODI's and leave us not so confident ahead the champions trophy, a selection dilemma is inbound. Huge boxing card this weekend, we are all hopeful for a fairytale win for Joseph Parker. Massive shoutout to our friends and sponsors of the show, Milton Common brewery and CTC, providing captain of the week as always. Enjoy! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Its Black Caviar Lightning Stakes Day at Flemington on Saturday and we all look to reproduce last weekends stunning effort of 13 bet wins! The Apollo Stakes looks to be the race of the weekend at Randwick with superstars everywhere you look. Thanks to Betr for helping put the show together for you Reggies, we couldn't do it without them. Enjoy, and rip in this weekend. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Sport all over the world this week. Cricket is Sri Lanka, UFC in Sydney, Super Bowl in the US, not to mention weird sport of the week and plenty more. Steven Smith might just be ready to go god mode again just in time for this year's ashes in Australia. We start to ponder what the Aussie team will do come Ashes time, there's a few headaches around the opening spot but there are good problems to have with our all-rounder position. We get into the Superbowl, nothing to do with the game we just give Americans a bath for calling themselves World Champions in domestic competitions. Tommy recaps UFC312 and wants everyone to know he may have predicted how it would go...and it did just that. Good to see Strickland lose, usually love his chat but he lost the plot over here. CTC captain of the week was a bit hard this week but we found one! Thanks to Country Trucker Caps for helping put on the show. See you on Friday for the Punt Show and you know it's going to be huge after last weekends massacre of the bookies! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The Punt Show is back for 2025! Kicking off on the first Group 1 racing weekend of the year, The CF Orr stakes at Caulfield. Mr. B is back but is he popular with The Reggies? All your favorites return, Old Boys reckon they have had a freshen up and are ready to fire first up. The bananas return for another crack, they couldn't possibly go any worse than last season so things are looking up...surely. Dart of the week, Gropers Grey, you name it and its back! Luke Smith makes an unexpected appearance and absolutely shits the bed. The listeners are back and ready to go again in 2025 and defend the title! Let's get amongst it. Thanks to Betr and also a big shout out The Love a Greyhound Organisation for helping put this show together. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
As promised, the 3rd major announcement from us Reggies! Wait till you hear it! Huge dive into the cricket, the women's side absolutely demolishing the poms. We obviously tee off on the english, which is well deserved because some of the fielding and bowling was well below par for test level. Have we uncovered Brenden McCullum as a mole in the English cricketing set up? The Aussie men were great don't get us wrong but you could not have asked for a better scenario for Joshy Inglis to come and debut. Heady wins the Allan Border medal and Annabel Sutherland wins the Belinda Clark, what an effort from those two players last year. Tommy is off to the UFC in Sydney this weekend so we preview the card, we talk some boxing with a huge fight announced in September for 2 of the world's best. We try to get back to our roots and talk about some pure Reggie athletes who have got all the skill and ability but are just Reggie's when it comes to training and preparation. New segment from Tom starting this week called 'weird sport of the week'. Shin kicking was this weeks weird sport, that sounds shit doesn't it? Keep the eyes and ears peeled because the jersey sale date cannot be far away from being announced! Limited stock again this year but we are hoping to have catered for everyone. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
It's Groper's turn for a sickie this week, the big fella is on nightshift so Tommy and Jace are at the helm. The 2nd big announcement of the 3 is here and it's your chance for a 2025 RRLC membership, as the much anticipated jersey for this season is here! We dive into the news for the tour of Sri Lanka, the women's Ashes and how the girls are just dominating the poms as always, as well as Mitch Owen leading the Canes to glory in the BBL final after smacking around some golden, juicy, 62 degree Celsius pies. The Aus Open is wrapped up for another year, with Sinner and Keys taking victories, and how good the doubles are for entertainment value. Massive card announced for Aussie boxing in March, as well as the UFC fight night gets underway this weekend in Saudi with a few brilliant match ups. The dart returns and Jace throws for a chance at going 3/3 and completing the Hatrick this week. Huge thanks to Milton Common, CTC and the love a greyhound organisation. Stay tuned for the final announcement next week that will knock your bloody socks off Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Jace was MIA today after coming down with a bit of Covid-19, which lead us to a discussion about how gingers just naturally get sick more often. Week 1 of our big 3 announcements saw us talk about our event we are hosting at Milton Common in Brisbane on the 17th May. Big day of punting and footy coming right up! The Daka rally champion Daniel 'Chucky' Sanders finally gets all the recognition he deserves after taking out one of the world's most gruelling races. We talk cricket, the Aussie girls retain The women's Ashes yet again after winning the first t20i, let's look toward a clean sweep. Big Bash finals are underway and we are sneakily supporting the stars with G.Maxwell in great form. Plenty of tennis action on and off the court, big discussion around Jannik Sinner and his drug cheating scandal plus Tony Jones and Novak Djokovic going toe to toe. Tommy wants answers from the RRLC regarding why there is not heaps of posts telling him how well he done with the UFC predictions? We also yarn about how good boxing is getting with the best fighting the best consistently. A bit of footy, a bit of racing and a quick call to Barbs to see if we could get a bite out of him. Big shout to Milton Common and CTC for making the episode a success, we'll see you all next week for week 2 of announcements. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
How good is beating the poms. Women's Ashes well and truly under way with Australia taking a 2-0 lead in the ODI series. A long way to go but a great start for the girls. Big bash brilliance all round from Smith, Maxwell, Matt Short all playing outstanding innings for their sides. We've been getting into the big bash this year, something about it! Bit of Kyrgios chat after his early exit from Aussie open, lets move on from him and look ahead to our other Aussie superstars performing at Melbourne Park. Sam Goodman has had his heart ripped out after another head cut ruling him out of the fight with Inoue. Word is that he has lost his chance to fight him for now, which is super dissapointing for him. The Gold Coast Turf Club must have done something seriously wrong to somebody because they just have the worst luck in terms of racedays. Bad weather again means the magic millions meeting moves to Friday. Some huge names return to the trials this week, a lot of Chris Waller runners which is super exciting. Tommy is back with his motorsport segment, big coverage of Daniel 'Chucky' Sanders in the Dakar Rally, what an absolute legend and we wish him all the best for the remaining rounds! Shout out to Milton Common and Common Ground Brewery for jumping on board with The Reggies and stay tuned for some big news next week. Dart of the week is back! Magic Millions meeting rescheduled to Friday night and we go to the 2y/o classic for the dart! Head to Betr for the market. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
A monster first show of the year, which it was always going to be! Returning after a couple of weeks hiatus we catch up because we genuinely didn't see one another since the last punt show. Huge recap of the whole 5 test matches starting with Perth and finishing with a cracking ending in Sydney for the pink test. We talk all things Bumrah, Kohli, Siraj, Head, Smithy, Marnus, ALL of the bowlers because they won us the series. We look ahead to the Sri lankian tour and even further towards the Ashes next summer. The darts at the Ally Pally for the world champs was electric, Lukey Littler winning the first of what will be many world titles. A heap of boxing coming up including Jai Opetaia tonight and Sammy Goodman coming up later this month. Tommy does his first ever motorsport segemnt all by himslef! He covers the Daka rally as his mate Daniel 'Chucky' Sanders is absolutely killing in the first few stages. Stay tuned for the last few moments of the poddy as we say 'all the best' to one of our favourite friends of the show. As we both say we hope it's goodbye for now and not goodbye forever. The punt show will return in February when we have ourn first Group 1 of a new season! Hope you enjoy the show, and we cannot wait for the year ahead! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Our last holiday episode before we return to our regular weekly sports show next week. What better way to finish then talk about our favourite Ashes moments from yester-year. The 2005 series in England to the 06/07 return series in Australia. Peter Siddle's Hat trick on his birthday, Warnes 700th. How good is Ashes cricket! The Reggies would not have been possible in 2024 without our sponsors. The Standard Squeeze, Betr and Country Trucker Caps have taken us on a journey this year and we cannot wait to work with them again in 2025. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
We sit down and discuss our favourite eras of Rugby League and AFL! The early 2000's feature heavily as we think (our opinion) that was when footy peaked. A time before the game was overshadowed by bunker decisions and rule changes, hope you all enjoy. We hope everyone had/is having a great holiday period. We can't rip in with yas next year. The Reggies would not have been possible in 2024 without our sponsors. The Standard Squeeze, Betr and Country Trucker Caps have taken us on a journey this year and we cannot wait to work with them again in 2025. Hosted on Acast. The boys were in the studio a few weeks ago on Derby Day and had a chat about their favourite Australia v India test match moments. A look back to the early 2000's when Ponting, Gilchrist, Tendulkar and Dravid were all at their peak. A few little digs at the Indians ahead of the Border-Gavaskar trophy (which had not started yet) this summer. We hope everyone has a brilliant Christmas and New Year period and we can't wait to see in the new year. The Reggies would not have been possible in 2024 without our sponsors. It was presentation night for The Reggies punt show and holy shit did we have some fun. 4 or 5 greyhound bets, presentations to the winners of all segments and some absolute lip thrown all throughout. We got everyone on for a tip and a yarn, Sutto form TSS, Curly from Marcur Thoroughbreds, Gilly and Quinno from The Reggies Podcast and of course all the usual suspects! B1, B2 and The old boys. Plenty of thanks were in order, and they came thick and fast from all directions. Hopefully Pedro and Keato can get through the spray we gave them, because their kind words about us and The Reggies were very much appreciated. Like we say numerous times throughout this episode, we cannot thank every single person involved in the show enough. The listeners, you guys are the best audience and we love producing a show or 2 each and every week for you to wrap the ears around. Everyone enjoy the Christmas/New Year period and we hope you like the 3 special episodes we have in store over the break. See you in 2025!! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
What a massive last 'weekly' show for the year. Of course, we still have a couple of special episodes to put out over the Christmas period but we sign off for the year with a huge cricket infused episode after Australia absolutely dominated India at the AO. Travvy Head stole the show, Mohammad Siraj and Harshit Rana tried their best to become the most hated men in Australia and the series is set up for a cracking last 3 tests. The Aussie girls made Sunday a day of domination for Aussie cricket after piling on the runs at Allan Border field. Some crazy finishes in the Sheffield Sheild on the weekend and a bedshit from Riley Meredith ensured South Australia won on the last ball. Speaking of bedshits, ask golfer Anothony Quail how his week was. Juan Soto is the richest man in baseball after signing a 1.19B AUD deal with the NY Mets! We try to wrap our heads around just what the deal means and just how much money per game big Juan is on. A big recap on the UFC and boxing plus a look ahead to the next few weeks of events. Some huge fights coming up not only for our Aussies but for the world. Tune in Friday for the last punt show of the year, its presentation night and its going to be huge! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
It's grand final day and there's a lot at stake. The bananas are going head to head in the last week, old boys and young guns is well and truly alive but the listeners have won, there's no way they can lose. We've got it all this weekend, ufc, horses, cricket, some juju and a whole lot of swinging. The last group 1 for the year is at Ascot for the Northerly stakes and there has been some serious calculating of units. It all kicks of at 11:30 Saturday and could be all over red rover early on, or we could go into Sunday night. Once again massive thanks to BETR and the love a greyhound organisation, tune in next week for the awards ceremony! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
A massive weekend on the sauce caused some serious brain gout on this weeks episode, which weas recorded on Monday evening instead of Tuesday. The Scotty Claridge memorial golf day was an absolute hoot, can't wait to do it all again next year. We are that gee'd up for the next test to start on Friday, D/N test under lights at the Adelaide Oval with probable changes to both sides. We are all hoping Marnus comes out and makes 100 and Australia piles on the runs. Laurie Daley has been announced as the NSW Blues head coach for season 2025, and great decisions being made already by bringing in Craig Bellamy as an 'advisor'. The fat man Paul 'fatty' Vautin announced he is stepping away from all duties at channel 9, we reminisce on the days of the footy show and what an absolute larrikin and all-around champion of the game the fat was. Australian rugby looks to have turned a corner, narrowly going down to No.2 ranked Ireland on Sunday morning after a huge defensive effort, all signs point up! Rugby AU need to do whatever they can to retain Joe Schmidt for the 2027 world cup. The F1 season for the constructor's championship will go down to the wire at the season finale in Abu Dhabi, and lets hope the FIA stewards are more on the ball this week than they were in Qatar. Huge boxing cards to look forward to in the next 2-3 weeks, cannot wait for Sammy Goodman, Usyk/Fury and some cracker UFC cards as well. Thanks to CTC and The Standard Squeeze for always being supportive of the show, we couldn't do it without the listeners and our sponsors. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
We were very lucky this week to have a chat with Annabel Neasham, her and her partner Rob Archibald are training our Written Tycoon colt 'Zemoreya' so she came on the show to give us a little background about herself and where she came from, what lead her to become a successful trainer here in Australia and what her thoughts of Zemoreya were. It was great insight and we can't wait to work closely with her. Onto the punt show! 2 weeks to go so you could call this a prelim final, the penultimate round, however you want to put it....the pressure is on! We head to the Winterbottom Stakes for the Group 1 segment, barbs gets his bets in before his big trip to Perth, we were a bit concerned after his B1 speil, but all is well after he was back sounding normal for the group 1. Button is in the big smoke of Brisbane for the country cups final and the boys are chirping (prematurely) after taking the lead in the old boy's segment at long last! Gropes has an absolute shocker in Dart of the Week but eventually he hit something and we had a horse for the mighty Betr to give us a market on. Download their app for exclusive dart of the week markets, heaps of promos and many many specials. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Tommy is steaming after a looong day, Gropes is almost a zombie on nightshift but we still show up for yas. The let down in the first test has left the boys down and out, a disappointing start from the aussies. It's only up from here. Huge signing news as Benny ‘Dozer' Hunt returns to brissy, the boys dive into where he will fit in Madge's new system. Richmond well and truly win the AFL draft, and the lions have somehow snagged Levi Ashcroft for an absolute bargain. A huge weekend awaits with the Scott Claridge memorial golf day this Friday where the boys have their own REGGIES HOLE, how good. Massive thanks to CTC and Standard Squeeze for making this show possible. Tune in Friday for what could be a massive punt show! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Leaderboards come out this week and with only 3 weekends to go it is time to get serious! We head the west, WA racing gets its time to shine with the first of their big 3 group 1's, The Railway Stakes this Saturday. Plenty of bets around the WA racing scene as well plenty of cricket and some left field punting from Mr. Jace Ward. Barbs and Button are fighting for their lives and for B1 supremacy, and if we could all have only one wish...it would be to get winners in the Old Boys segment so we finish ahead of our fathers. Jump on the Betr app and get around the dart of the week, we had a special guest thrower this week in the big Q, Quin the chin! We gave him 3 darts, how many do you reckon he needed? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
We were wound right up last week so we come in with a nice fresh attitude on this week's edition of The Reggies. Tom Miles gets cleared of all charges and is to resume normal duties as RRLC pest/punter reminder. We get into all things fighting, recapping a brilliant fight card in Texas (minus the main event). Amanda Serrano was absolutely robbed by the judges, but what a brutal display of women's boxing her and Taylor put on. What does Jon Jones do now? Only he will know. Did we save the back fence? Bulldog Richie was very lucky to escape squeeze of the week after his rubbish rumour. It's draft day for the AFL, where will Levi Ashcroft end up going? No.1? No.5? Surely Richmond make the Lions pay full price but reports say different. The summer of cricket feels like its finally here! First test this Friday after sweeping Pakistan in the T20i series. Are we going to see the batsmen dominate the series or will the bowlers continue to dominate test cricket? What about Mitch Marsh, full circle moment coming up this summer for him. The boxing Day test in 2018/19 against India was his darkest day in cricket, getting boo'd by Australian fans. He is now an Allan Border medallist and world champion. We NEED to get behind him and give the biggest roar at the MCG on boxing day when he comes out to bat to erase all memories of the boo's. The Standard Squeeze are having their biggest ever sale. 50% off EVERYTHING for 50 minutes only on Tuesday the 26th November. No BS, Every single item will be half price. Get around them! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The tide has turned in a few segments! Jace turned the Old Boys segment on its head last week with a massive trifecta. A little bit of early crowing went on but none the less the young guns are back! B1 Button got his bets in nice and early this week after boycotting last week. Barbary is back on one of his own, and a few of us have followed him in! Variety galore in the group 1 this week with no less than 8 horses spread throughout the bets. The Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes may look a 2-horse race but surely there is more depth to it? The Betr dart of the week almost landed on the ultimate juju, but we've ended up in gate 22 of 22 and can't wait to see the specials delivered to us by our amazing partner BETR. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
An official statement was released from Jace on behalf of The Reggies Podcast in relation to a certain RRLC post. Not sure what we had for lunch but everyone was on edge and wound up like a jack in a box! To get us going we discuss to the rumours of a potential rule change to the NRL kick off, followed up with non-interested rugby league players, followed up with the Australian cricket team, and finally into the men's netball dance squad. On a much more positive note, the chopperroos won another world title, Australian rugby had its best day in the sun for god knows how long, and Lizelle Lee (what a cricketing name) made 150* for the Hobart Hurricanes in a WBBL game. Blow ups galore but plenty of shining lights! The Standard Squeeze are having their biggest ever sale of EVERYTHING in the store for Black Friday. Make sure you tune in next week for all the details. How good is racing! Derby Day was a mixture of emotions, Melbourne Cup Day was a bloodbath, Oaks day was mehh, and now we are ready to launch into the final day of the Flemington carnival....Champions Day! The Group 1 Champions Mile looks to be the best race all year on paper, let's hope it lives up to it. The laptop was back from the repair shop so we got a good look at how it's shaping up with only 5 or so weeks to go in the season. The Betr dart of the week lands on a very good hope, the greyhound had all the juju but did it perform? Also has anyone seen Button? Had to edit his bets into the show as we dunno where he is! All this thanks to Betr, the wagering partner of The Reggies. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Hope everyone had a good Melbourne Cup Day, as you will hear we recorded this episode on Monday for a couple of different reasons. Didn't stop us from covering all things cricket, the Aussies were mid ODI against Pakistan and didn't things get tight late! Who will open the batting in the first test? Plenty of hands in the air but not many runs being scored. Aus v Tonga in the final of the pacific championship after an amazing game of footy in Auckland against the kiwis. We talk Benny hunt, very late chat on the Allan Langer saga and a Quick look the series in England. An incredible performance from Max Verstappen at the Brazilian Grand Prix. From 17th on the starting grid has he all but sealed the drivers championship? What about Gout Gout! How good is he going. Gets himself a well-deserved win in one of our segments after breaking all sorts of records on the track over 200m. Huge shouts to CTC and The Standard Squeeze for helping sponsor the show, couldn't do it without them Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The race that stops the nation is here once again, the first Tuesday of November is a date that gets pencilled into the diary each and every year. We have given our extremely uneducated opinion on how we think the race will go, plus give our best bets, each way bets and of course the famous boxed trifecta's! We even give a little dart board trifecta. Hope everyone has a ripper of a Melbourne Cup day, if you are heading Flemington, or any track around the nation, be safe and back plenty of winners! Make sure you do your betting with the mighty BETR, plenty of cup day specials and promos to get around. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Derby Day aka Christmas Day is upon us once again! The best day of racing all year, nothing but quality from races 1-9 at Flemington and sprinkle some golden eagle in Sydney and we have ourselves a smorgasbord. Barbs is well and truly up and about after last week's demolition, but he gets reminded of a little error he made when discussing the cox plate winner Via Sistina's chances last week. We must swing in the Old Boys segment, it's getting very desperate after Rocket gained another 40 odd units for the Old Boys last week. A genuine CHANCE to win the race was struck on the dart board for this week's BETR dart of the week. Make sure you head to the Betr Specials to check out The Reggies dart of the week exclusive markets. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Another big episode this week covering no less than 5 sports. Bit of chit chat from the RRLC over the week, covering a few topics of discussion including whether the footage of barbs was him being kicked out of the hammo last weekend. We cover the AUS v NZ game and the Samoan v England game, second game of the 2-test series coming up this weekend which Tom is furious about. India and England, our two biggest rivals in the cricketing world have both had shockers this past week and we are absolutely all over them! 5-0 coming up this summer against India or what? Double spinning back fist, crushed teeth/jaw and a first-time knockout was just some of the action from UFC308. We talk Fury and Usyk as well Sammy Goodman getting his shot at the junior featherweight titles against Naoya Inoue in Tokyo. If nothing else that will be an absolute spectacle for Sammy to be a part of. Squeeze of the week wasn't as straight forward as it seemed, however there was an easy pick for captain, and we give a certain someone a well-deserved pat. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Was that the greatest punt show of all time? Holy shit we had a good time, the greyhound gets up in an epic, Jaces dart throwing for dart of the week was an absolute catastrophe, B1 and B2 have put their balls to the wall and backed their own stables! Not to mention it's Cox Plate weekend, we were that fired up after the show we almost went straight to the pub! The show wouldn't be possible without the sports betting jaggernaut that is Ohhhhh Ahhhhh Betr. Download the app today and go to the Betr specials to find The Reggies dart of the week. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The Rugby League and AFL off seasons are in full swing Reggies! We discuss the Ezra Mam situation, the GWS Giants Wacky Wednesday situation and give an honest light-hearted opinion of both. The pacific championships have begun for both the men and women with a big win for the jillaroos, a scrappy win the kangas and how good was seeing PNG win. They love footy! The AFL should change the trade period to 12 hours because that's when all the deals get done, the draft order is set (for now) until 47 picks get shuffled around during early November. Timmy Tszyu suffered a devastating loss on Sunday and hasn't the social media world turned on him. Not us! We will stick by Timmy forever. The UFC this Sunday should be a cracker with both the co-main and main events looking like mouth-watering fights. As usual, the standard squeeze and CTC sponsored our segments of captain of the week and squeeze of the week. There on-going support is something we are forever grateful for! See ya Friday for the punt show. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The boys are in a different scenery this episode as the studio is powerless, but we get the job done in the AB studio. Thank god it's Friday and what a weekend of racing we have ahead. We've got the illustrious Caulfield cup, The Everest, The silver eagle and many more. If you don't park up and watch some unreal racing this weekend, you're not a true punter. Our 2nd instalment of our dart of the week sees a familiar number picked out, and some great value again. Just when you thought rugby league punting was over, the boys sniffed out a couple multis in the pacific championships. As always a huge shoutout to BETR for making this show possible, check out their specials market to ride with us for our dart of the week! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
