The Brisbane Broncos have had a steady start to the NRL season, however, the team narrowly lost to the New Zealand Warriors on Saturday night. Broncos star Patrick Carrigan told Peter Psaltis on Wide World of Sports, "Plenty of positives, I think." "Probably our attitude and those sorts of things improved on the week before. And I think Madge probably was pleased with that aspect of things, but we just shot ourselves in the foot again, too many mistakes." "Seven weeks into the comp learning and building some combos, but, we've got plenty of room for improvement," Carrigan continued. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Penrith has made the worst start by a defending NRL Premier since the Brisbane Broncos in 1999. A 5th defeat in 6 rounds came at the hands of the Dolphins and the Panthers looked a shadow of the team that has won the last 4 competitions. Penrith skipper Isaah Yeo was gracious enough to chat to Zane Bojack after the game and says they aren't giving up on their season yet.

Wests Tigers' effort would make any fan proud, but we fell short on Saturday night. Taking on the high-flying Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium, the Wests Tigers succumbed 46-24 despite playing arguably some of our best football so far this season. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel is joined by Nick and Declan to analyze the Wests Tigers' performance. Some of the key talking points include: Physicality - how we're still not consistently winning the collision Lachlan Galvin's short kicking game The performance of Galvin and Latu Fainu Luke Laulilii's first game for the season The Terrell May V Payne Haas battle up front What this side might be able to do with Skelton, Luai, and Samuela Fainu available Naturally, there are all the 'One Word' submissions from members of the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum too. Wests Tigers fans are a bit confused about how the team is performing? We take a look at "Richo's Meter" to try and ascertain if the Tigers' performance was Awful, Poor, Average, Good, or Great. There's some discussion too about Jahream Bula and his positioning in defense, and one podcast team member makes a big call in regards to comparisons with the Broncos number one. And our attention towards forwards as well, with a look at the importance of this weekend's game against the Knights. Speaking of the Knights, there are some reports their backrower Kai Pearce-Paul might be on our radar, we look at what the Englishman could potentially bring to our team. And don't forget there's an Ambush event that you are warmly invited to this weekend at the Wests Ashfield Leagues Club. This week, former Warrington Wolves player Darren Burns joins me to discuss his career and time at Warrington. I find out what Darren is up to these days and how he went back to Warrington to visit not too long ago. We discuss how he got started in rugby league and making his debut for the Western Suburbs, moving to South Sydney and then scoring the first NRL try for Sydney. We also talk about how Darren had a season at the Brisbane Broncos and becoming only one game away from the Grand Final. We chat about how his move to Warrington came about, making his debut in very wet conditions in Barrow and helping save the club from relegation. We talk about the last ever game at Wilderspool, the first season at the new stadium and how retirement came about for Darren at the end of that season. This podcast is hosted by ZenCast.fm
Amid the uncertainty of ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred, the Brisbane Broncos played the Sydney Roosters in the first round of the NRL season. There were concerns about players being away from their families during this time, but the team was able to return before the cyclone arrived. Brisbane Broncos CEO, Dave Donaghy, told Peter Psatlis on Wide World of Sports, "I suppose we had enough time or a window there where we could get everyone back, which we're very grateful for, that we were able to do that." "So they were able to get everyone back straight after the game, that was pleasing to get everyone home." "We're really grateful that the facility at Red Hill and, more importantly, all our staff, all our players and, all our families are all okay, through this period," Mr Donaghy continued.
