We're in Second John. As we learned last time, this is a letter all about truth and love. Two things that are desperately needed right now. Our daily walk needs this balance of truth and love and it's modeled beautifully for us by Christ. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/1368/29?v=20251111

We begin Second John today. While it doesn't take long to read, it does take a lifetime to apply. You see, it's all about truth and love! And those are two things that are under attack and greatly misunderstood today. So we'd do well to give our attention to what it has to say to us. MY Devotional: Daily Encouragement from Leading The Way

Everyone is created in God's image, but only those who have been called to follow Jesus have become children of God—and that identity changes everything. In today's episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef anchors your heart in the Father's lavish love (1 John 3:1) and the unshakable security that flows from belonging to Christ. Because you are His: you can fight temptation through the power of the Holy Spirit, you can have peace in turmoil, you can contend for the faith with courage, and you can rest knowing no one can snatch you from God's hand (John 10:28–29) and nothing can separate you from His love (Romans 8:38–39). That security also confronts complacency. Dr. Youssef reminds us that true believers cannot habitually live in careless disobedience. We may still struggle with sin, but conviction drives us back to confession and repentance—and gratitude compels us to submit to the whole counsel of God's Word. Finally, this devotional clarifies a vital tension in today's culture: God's love does not muddy Truth. Love does not excuse false teaching or “baptize” sin into the Church. Love speaks the Truth—even when it's unpopular—because the Gospel is the power of God for salvation (Romans 1:16). If you've felt intimidated by accusations of narrow-mindedness, this episode will strengthen you to stand firm, love freely, and contend faithfully. Prayer: Lord, embolden me to proclaim Your Truth in love, that more might come to know eternal life in Christ. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “To those who have been called, who are loved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ: Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance” (Jude 1:1-2). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. Youssef's sermon series Truth: The Most Endangered Species: LISTEN NOW The voice you hear on the MY Devotional podcast is digitally generated with Dr. Youssef's permission. If today's devotional stirred a question, burden, or need for prayer, you don't have to walk through it alone.

In this episode of the Other Six Podcast, we dive into 1 John 4:1–12 and unpack John's call to “test the spirits.” In a world full of opinions about Jesus—especially online—how can believers discern what is actually true? We explore the historical context behind John's warning, why the incarnation of Jesus is a non-negotiable truth for Christianity, and what happens when we become numb to the cost of the cross. We also talk about “familiarity blindness,” how it can make us comfortable with sin, and how remembering that God loved us first reshapes the way we love others. Finally, we discuss how a church community can make the invisible God visible through the way believers love one another—and why the ultimate evidence of knowing God's truth is showing God's love.

Levinson, they explore order and chaos, the idea of a developing God, and how discernment shows up in lived experience.Referencing William James, the conversation turns to faith as embodied wisdom rather than rule-following, and to Jesus as an unfiltered expression of divine presence.Through reflections on ego, power, tough love, and the teaching “knock and you will find,” the episode contrasts horizontal and vertical ways of seeing reality, suggesting that seeking itself may already place us within the Kingdom of God.Related Episodes:263. In this talk, we'll  explore what it truly means to find refuge—not through controlling life, but by coming home to the living truth of our experience. Our deepest refuge—the source of peace, safety, and freedom—is discovered through direct realization of reality itself. Drawing on the Buddhist understanding of refuge, we explore three timeless and archetypal gateways: • Awareness (Buddha) — the wakeful presence that knows our experience • Truth (Dharma) — the wisdom that liberates us when we see clearly • Love (Sangha) — the tenderness and belonging that arise through connection Through short guided reflections, we practice opening to each of these portals, allowing refuge to become a lived and embodied experience rather than an abstract idea. This talk is especially supportive if you are: Seeking inner peace during times of uncertainty or stress Exploring mindfulness, meditation, or Buddhist teachings Longing for a deeper sense of belonging and spiritual homecoming Interested in awakening compassion and wise awareness in daily life   Our introduction music is from "Opening" by Adrienne Torf, © 2025 ABT Music

Welcome to Day 2759 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. Please send them on their way in a manner that honors God. 7 It was for the sake of the Name that they went out, receiving no help from the pagans. 8 We ought therefore to show hospitality to such people so that we may work together for the truth. 9 I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us. 10 So when I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, spreading malicious nonsense about us. Not satisfied with that, he even refuses to welcome other believers. He also stops those who want to do so and puts them out of the church. 11 Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil / but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God. 12 Demetrius is well spoken of by everyone—and even by the truth itself. We also speak well of him, and you know that our testimony is true. 13 I have much to write you, but I do not want to do so with pen and ink. 14 I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face. 15 Peace to you. The friends here send their greetings. Greet the friends there by name. Opening Prayer Sometimes I hear Christians talk about returning to the simplicity, innocence, and purity of the early church. Before doctrinal decline. Before moral corruption. Before power-hungry leaders started wrangling over position. Before the sun set on the golden age of the apostles. The idea seems to be that the first generation of Christians could focus their attention on preaching the gospel without constantly dealing with problems in the...

We'll talk about why Christian podcasters like Allie Beth Stuckey shouldn't defend their feminism while claiming to follow Christ, and why Christianity itself is a patriarchy, by God's design. It's time for biblical men to stop waiting for permission from feminists and take back the authority God gave them. We'll also discuss more of the Trump administration's mistakes, including this ridiculous new 50-year mortgage idea that proves how far from wisdom our leaders have fallen.

Recently there are those who have argued that Jesus affirmed transgender identity using Matthew 19:12 (about eunuchs). In Matt 19:12 Jesus was discussing marriage and celibacy after teaching on divorce, not gender identity. Maximum glory comes from two distinct but equal genders working together, not from one gender or multiple genders. Like all things, we need both truth and compassion; we need to step away from harsh judgment and from uncritical acceptance. Letting feelings determine reality does not ultimately lead to the flourishing of life. As Christians, we must speak truth in love, support struggling individuals in community, and model healthy gender expression while recognizing that all people bear God's image and need His grace. Fr. Mike emphasizes that Christian love isn't just about feelings—it's about living in God's truth by obeying his commandments. Fr. Mike also explains the context for St. Paul's words to St. Timothy about asceticism and caring for widows, and he ends today's reflection by encouraging us to keep fighting the good fight of faith.
