Ace fighter pilot, Alden Rigby, graduated from Cadets at Spence Field, Georgia, in December, 1943. He graduated from P-51 fighter training at Bartow, Florida in April, 1944, then served as an instructor for two months before he was assigned to the 352nd Fighter Group, based at Bodney, England. He traveled across the Atlantic on the transport ship USS Mt. Vernon with no escorts. On January 1, 1945, he was one of twelve pilots who flew combat during the famous “Legend of Y-29 Mission”, in which he shot down two Me-109s and two FW-190s, becoming an Ace.

Louis Slama joined the Air Force in 1943 and volunteered to be a paratrooper. He jumped behind enemy lines in Holland and fought in Operation Market Garden. Orson was the skipper of a mine sweeper in the South Pacific and participated in the battle of Leyte Gulf. Watt Misaka served in World War II during the occupation of Japan. He has two children and three grandchildren and has been a citizen of Utah all of his life.

Mont Mahoney served in Patton's third army during World War II with the 276th Armored Field Artillery Battalion. He is the recipient of the Purple Heart as well as many other awards. He was born in Brigham City, Utah and then graduated from East High School and then from the University of Utah. Mont is a true humanitarian and has served with the boy scouts. In this lecture Mont shares with us his experiences of being in World War II.

He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah but grew up in California. After the bombing at Pearl Harbor, instead of waiting to be drafted, he trained and passed the test to become a pilot. He shares with us his experiences as a pilot during World War II.

Pat enlisted in the army Air Corp in 1941 prior to Pearl Harbor. He was on the Bataan Death March for 10 days and then escaped. He led a group of Pilipino guerillas in the jungle for 10 months against the Japanese but was later captured and sent to work as slave labor in Japanese mines. When he finally returned home he weighed 67 pounds. Mr. Patton is the recipient of two distinguished service awards, four battle stars and soon will receive his Purple Heart. Out of the 386 men that served in his outfit, 11 returned. In his lecture, Henry R. Patton pays tribute to those men.

Emmett "Cyclone" Davis is an extraordinary leader and a person who can inspire young men. He was born in Roosevelt, Utah where he grew up as a cowboy. He later went to the University of Utah and later became an Air Force cadet in the 1940s. He was at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked. He is credited with shooting down three planes during WWII.
