The words we choose matter. What if we modeled healthy, intentionally healing, and loving language in hospitals and medical environments? What words would healing use? What if we opted out of language that creates fear, scarcity, and wartime energy in medical settings? What if we began using words that embody positive, hopeful, helpful, and healing energy? Choosing words with intention is a powerful tool. The default words you use with regularity in all parts of your life also matter. When someone asks how you are or how your day was, how do you answer? Fine, ok, exhausted? We tend to choose negative, humble, dull, minimizing words rather than colorful fun words. What if you chose to be more than fine and more than ok? What if you were fabulous, wonderful, or extraordinary? What if you chose to have fun with language and words? And what if you string words together into sentences and stories with intention? In this episode, we invite you to craft a narrative of your life that you love. Make yourself the hero. Tell an empowered story. Today's episode is strong encouragement to use words, sentences, stories, and language with mindful intention. When you tell the version of your life you want to be living, you just might start living it. Join us for the Mindful Healers Connect in Nature Retreat in July 2023. When my marriage ended 5 years ago, I actively sought out other women who had been through a similar experience. I found comfort in their stories and soaked up their learnings to give me hope that there was in fact Life After Divorce. One of those women was Cathrine Mahoney and I am thrilled to have her as my guest in this episode. Cathrine is a former publicist and author of the most hilarious book ‘Currently Between Husbands'. As a self-confessed over-sharer, this book is a warts-and-all look at her whole life – from her early crushes growing up in Wales, to her years working with some of the world's biggest stars at Sony Music, the end of her marriage to one of the country's highest profile sports stars to navigating life and love as a ‘solo' mum, and everything in between. It's like Bridget Jones' Divorce Diary and is proof that there is life, love and plenty of laughter after divorce. So if you or anyone you care about is going through a tough time at the moment, you will find great hope and lots of laughs in my chat with Cathrine Mahoney. Inspired by fall back and the impending transition from fall to winter. In our harried technology-filled lives of the 21st century, our schedules create extra hours of light and artificially lengthen activity, even when the earth's natural rotation and orbit around the sun changes the duration of natural daylight hours. Animals instinctually change with the seasons. It's built into their DNA. If they do not change with the seasons, their existence is threatened. Humans override these patterns of nature around us - largely due to the lure of technology and our focus on productivity. Can you enjoy what's in season rather than resist it? What would it look like to embrace the current season in all the ways? What season of life are you in? What season of your career are you in? Are you resisting the seasons you are in? Where are you pretending you are in a different season? What might shift if you actually embraced the season you were in? Learn to navigate jealousy. Jealousy does not have to be a problem. It can be a teacher. Until coaching, I saw jealousy through the lens of scarcity and inadequacy and fear. Jealousy is an emotion that sheds light on the things you are interested in, like, want, or are important to you.It doesn't mean you need something different to be content or that you lack something. Jealousy helps you set your GPS more accurately and notice and connect with your values. It is a learning tool that provides useful information about your authentic self. Where do you notice jealousy or envy showing up in your life? How can you use jealousy as a clue, or inspiration to pursue something you have wanted to do but haven't done yet.
