Wandering The Weekend

We head down to Bloomington Minnesota to visit 9 Mile Brewing!  We talk with Bob Countryman, owner and CEO and John Leingang head brewer!  We talk about their first anniversary events, their current line up of beer, including our favorite Pub Ale, and their community involvement.  Steph and Will also sample their Shardic Expression No 1, an Imperial Coffee Vanilla Oatmeal Stout.  If you haven't been to 9 Mile yet, be sure to stop in while you are in the area, it will be a cornerstone on your weekend wander!

We are finally back on the road! We talk about our recent trip to Ft. Collins, CO and then we explore just North West of the Twin Cities up Hwy 55. We stop at Millner Heritage Winery (Kimball, MN) and Readhead Creamery (Brooten, MN). We then pair the cheese and wine with Barrel-Aged Fruited Sours from Eponymous Brewing (Brookings, SD). All this and more as we Wander the Weekend!

In this episode we get spooky for the Halloween season as Steph retells our recent run in with the paranormal over a hot apple cider made with Atomic Apple liquor from ApplesRus. But first we talk about our trip to Kansas City, MO where we visit 3 Halves Brewing, Slaps BBQ, Boulevard Brewing, Rochester Brewing and Roastery and so much more!

In this episode of Wandering the weekend we had out to the Amana Colonies near Cedar Rapids, IA. We pay a visit to the Map Room, Clock House Brewing, and we sit down with Steve, one of the owners of Millstream Brau Haus. We talk about how they are maintaining their identity, and what changes they are making to stay relevant in the ever changing craft beer community. On our way home we stop in at Clear Lake, IA and spend some time at Lake Time Brewing!

Join us as we get back on the road after a long COVID winter. First we take a Mini Wander to Lake City, Minnesota and pay a visit to Three Little Men Toy Store and Read's Landing Brewery.  Then we go on a Weekend Wander to Decorah, Iowa to visit Toppling Goliath and Pulpit Rock Brewing.  We also check out Quillin's Food Ranch in Waukon, IA to check out some neat Grocery Store Memorabilia.  Lastly we swing by La Crosse distillery to pick up some gin for our Gin and Tonic pairing!  All this an more as we wander the weekend!

Will takes over the show this month to talk about his annual Cabin Weekend. We review board game classics like Cards Against Humanity, Oregon Trail, Zombie Dice, and new games like Jay and Silent Bob's Big Fat Card On, and Magic the Gathering's Jumpstart. We also talk about Hy-Vee's new dollar format Dollar Fresh in Glencoe, MN, and what makes the perfect Jambalaya. All this and more as we lock ourselves in at the cabin in Aitkin, MN!

Winter comes early to Minnesota, and we settle in as the road trip season nears the end. We feature a Halloween Candy and Craft Beer tasting, as will as take the Paqui One Chip Challenge. We also introduce our 50 State of Coffee challenge. Then Steph makes a Pumpkin Sausage soup and sparkling Apple Cider Sangria all in time for halloween! Featuring beer from Summit, 3 Floyds, Brewing Projekt, Finnegans, Summit, and Junkyard Featuring coffee from Unique, Moab, and Mr. Dapper Apple Cider cocktail made with 10,000 Drops Spiced Rum!

Will and Steph bundle up the kids and set out on this week's episode. We drive out to Menomonie, WI to check out Lucette and Zymurgy Brewing. As we head home we get a surprise stop at the Cady Cheese Factory! But our trip is not done yet! The next day we head to Montgomery Orchards for some apple picking. We grab a crowler of Old Ale to review in the studios from Montgomery Brewing. And lastly Steph unveils he family secret recipe of the Mollison Apple Crisp! All this and more as we wander the weekend!

Will and Steph venture to St. Paul to visit to two of Minnesota's oldest craft breweries, St Paul Brewing Co. and Bent Brewstillery. Then it's off to the St. Paul Farmer's Market to get ingredients for a Spring Into Autumn Corn Chowder. Lastly we use Golden Fig Autmn Elixir to make some fall themed cocktails!

Will and Steph wander to Excelsior, MN for the Excelsior Flea Market. Then they are off to New Mound, MN for a local Farmer's Market to get tomatoes for Steph's End of Summer Sauce. We swing in to Crow River Winery, Bobbing Bobbing Brewing and Unmapped Brewing to finish off the trip.
