Short term gains vs long term planning?

On this episode of Vitality Radio, Jared sits down with returning guest Jamie Cotter, national educator for WishGarden Herbs, to break down immunity in a way that actually makes sense. Instead of treating the immune system as a one-size-fits-all problem, Jamie explains the four distinct phases of immunity—daily immune maintenance, early onset, active illness, and recovery—and why each phase benefits from a different herbal strategy. You'll learn how tonic herbs support baseline immune resilience, why timing and dosing matter when symptoms first appear, and how targeted herbal formulas can support the body during active immune challenges and lingering recovery phases. This episode empowers listeners to better understand their own immune responses and make informed choices about herbal support, seasonal wellness routines, and immune preparedness—without fear, hype, or guesswork.Products Discussed:Daily ImmuneKick-Ass ImmuneSerious V-FighterDeep LungKick-Ass BioticGet Over It!Buy 4 or more Wishgarden products from HERE and get 25% off through March 7, 2026!Visit the podcast website here: VitalityRadio.comYou can follow @vitalitynutritionbountiful and @vitalityradio on Instagram, or Vitality Radio and Vitality Nutrition on Facebook.

Sexier Than A Squirrel: Dog Training That Gets Real Life Results
Send us a textWatch a mindset shift in real time as we explore how purpose-bred sports mixes are changing flyball and agility. We dive into the why and how behind crosses like the border whippet and kelpie–whippet, pairing racing-line sprint genetics with collie-style responsiveness to create dogs that explode down the lane, turn cleanly, and still curl up on the sofa by eight. If you've ever wondered whether speed and an off switch can live in the same dog, this is your tour through the evidence.Nicole joins us to unpack the profile of a great sport mix: explosive acceleration, confident turn mechanics, quick recovery, and a temperament that's easier to live with than many high-octane purebreds. We share real-world insights from Party the border whippet and Tonic the kelpie–whippet, including training feel, coat practicality, height and size considerations, and what “fast-twitch” actually looks like in daily routines. We also trace the scene's roots in North America, where racing whippets have long influenced performance breeding, and examine why the UK flyball world has embraced these crosses over the last decade.Breeding ethics and health come front and centre. We walk through responsible screening for both sides of the pedigree, from genetic panels to spinal imaging and orthopaedic checks, and explain how F1 versus F2 choices affect coat and build. With the rise in demand, we also flag the risks of untested litters marketed as sport-ready and share how to find trusted breeders who are active in the ring and transparent with results. Along the way, we compare other mixes—from border paps to staffy-infused lines—and talk honestly about living with collies versus mixes, training bandwidth, and the reality of “ease of life.”If high performance with low drama is your goal, you'll come away with a clear picture of what these dogs can offer and how to choose wisely. Enjoy the episode, share it with a friend who loves dog sport, and if it sparked new ideas, follow the show, leave a quick review, and tell us which mix you'd pick for your next run.Support the showIf you're loving the podcast, you'll love our NEW Sexier than a Squirrel Dog Training Challenge even more! Mark Brocato built Mockaroo—the tool that taught millions of developers how to fake data. Now, as Head of Engineering at Tonic.ai, he's building the AI agent that's making his own creation obsolete. In this episode, we explore why static test data can't survive the AI era, what it means to "negotiate" datasets with an agent instead of scripting them, and whether we're heading toward a future where sandbox environments vanish entirely. From the hidden failures of legacy mocks to the security implications of agent-driven synthesis, Mark reveals what happens when data generation becomes a conversation—not a pipeline. Send us a textGrief can feel louder when the world turns up the volume on cheer. We're naming that truth and offering a different path through the season: not forced positivity, but resilient presence. As a shamanic practitioner and grief doula, I share how resilience in grief isn't about “being strong.” It's about staying soft enough to feel and steady enough to come back to yourself, again and again, even when the calendar and the lights say “be merry.”We unpack why holidays amplify loss—rituals, anniversaries, family systems, and the pressure to perform joy—and how to navigate the first holiday without someone you love or a last holiday you're savoring. You'll hear practical grief rituals you can start today: lighting a candle, setting an ancestor plate, writing letters to your loved one or your future self, cooking the dish that carries their story, and taking a gentle “grief lap” walk after the meal to digest food and feelings. I offer boundary scripts that protect your energy, permission to leave early or skip traditions that hurt, and ideas for creating new, simpler rituals that fit your real capacity. We also dive into nervous system care with somatic tools and sensory supports: four-count breathing, one-minute shaking and stretching to move stuck emotion, herbal allies like chamomile, rose, and tulsi, the comfort of warmth from tea or a heating pad, and grounding with nature or a weighted blanket. Community matters too—text a friend to witness you for five minutes, sit in a support circle, or visit a spiritual space where you can arrive as you are. And a gentle reframe to carry with you: joy is not betrayal. Laughter, warmth, and small moments of light can live beside sorrow without canceling it.If you're craving deeper support, I'm opening a limited number of intimate one-on-one sessions this winter with somatic and shamanic tools, emotional processing, ancestral connection, and integration guidance. This week the fellas caught up with Tonic's Emerson Hart, one of the biggest hitmakers of the '90s! Hart reflects on Tonic's multi platinum success, including the exhaustion of the '90s, during which he witnessed the aftermath of Princess Diana's car crash and later slept for three days. Also, why does Hart's eyes twitch when collaborating with young artists? Plus, he gives solid advice that keeps him chasing after young kids well into his 50s. Adam, Joanna, and Zach respond to a listener question about why exactly the winemakers, grape growers, and wineries in Champagne are so protective of that term: not just with regards to other wines, but to a wide range of products that might use the term. Does the existence of "champagne" gummy bears really impact a wine region in France? In this episode, Chris sits down with Austen Gray of Joker's Republic to unpack the writing and recording of their 2022 single, “Gin and Tonic.” From the raw, emotionally charged lyrics drawn from personal experience to the bold sound of a three-piece ska band unafraid to break tradition, Austen offers a behind-the-scenes look at how the song came together. The conversation explores how working with veteran producer Roger Lima reshaped the band's creative approach, the importance of trust and collaboration among bandmates, and how this song in particular required little reworking. Tune in for a fun and insightful talk with one of the young songwriters that's keeping ska-punk alive and thriving.
