This is our 7th week of Bible Talks for this semester and today we are looking at Romans 4 Who can we trust? How can we learn from Abraham? Why can we trust Jesus?

Why were Moses and Elijah present at Christ's Transfiguration- What was the significance of their appearance with Him on that mountain- Why not Abraham- Why not David- In this transfiguration event, God reveals the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ through His fulfillment of the Old Testament, of both the Law and the Prophets. Our Lord doesn't just fulfill some of it. He fulfills all of it. For that reason, He alone is worthy of such glorification, both on the mountain and throughout all eternity. Because of this, we can know that He alone is able to save us from our sins and from the wrath to come.

Welcome to week 3 of our 5 week REACH series on the life of Abraham. Over the last few weeks we reflected over the "what" and "why", but there is a why behind the why that needs a bit of attention. The question we focus on today is: what motivates Abraham? Why is he so committed? Why is he so trusting? Why is he so generous? Why is his heart soft to the things of God? Do you want your heart to be soft to the things of God in the way that Abraham lived? What can I learn from Abraham? Listen as Mike digs deeper into Abraham's journey and how God worked inside of him and through him.

This section is based off of Chapter 6 of the Letters to the Hebrews. It's the pastor's meditation on the nature of God’s covenant promises. What does it mean for people to live as if God really meant what he said when he made his covenant promises to bless all of the nations through Abraham? Why is this such a big deal? Why do promises that God made to somebody thousands of years ago matter to us? We explore these questions in this episode.
