Building Your Brand Without Being Pushy What comes to mind when you think of personal branding? Some feel that personal branding is superficial. Or inauthentic. Instead of focusing on our brand, we should focus on developing expertise. Doing good work. And that good work will stand on its own. In this episode, we're taking this topic of personal branding head-on, and I'm joined by one of the most influential voices on the subject. Catherine Kaputa is recognized as one of the top 30 Global Branding Gurus and the author of five books on the topic. Today's discussion focuses on ideas in her new book, The New Brand You: How to Wow in the New World of Work. By the time we're done with this discussion, you'll see how personal branding applies to you, whether you're a student preparing for the workplace, someone trying to change industries, or someone feeling like you're just not getting the opportunities or promotions you deserve.  124   Entrepreneurship and The Art of Feminine Presence Author and personal development coach, Rachael Jayne Groover, is passionate about women discovering their own feminine power. Her book, “Powerful and Feminine” She writes that The feminine essence is the “E” spot. (“E” is for energetic, ecstatic, empowering and effortless). Listen in on the conversation between Deb and Rachael Jayne as they talk about how the “art of feminine presence” is vital to your business and your life.    [00:01 -11:57] Opening Segment Rachael Jayne talks to us about how transitioning from a customer service role to contributing to a personal development guru's organization, led her to the realization that starting her own business was the path to take. The challenges she faced of starting a business, included everything from visa issues to ultimately achieve success in the personal development field in the US.  She focused on finding joy in serving others which led her to getting in tune with that emotional connection and helping people realize their potential was her passion. She developed her skills through joining the Toastmasters to overcome her fear of speaking and found that she had a natural talent for it.     [11:58 - 29:13]  The Influence that Confidence Has on Our Success as Entrepreneurs   Personal development practices, such as mindset and communication, can help shift focus to something that feels better. Stabilizing the mind, heart, gut, and body in this infinite dimension leads to an unshakeable confidence, rather than trying to constantly change the mindset. Understanding the physical and energetic component of receptivity through the Art of Feminine Presence work The benefits of being receptive, such as a quiet mind, inner peace, and a relaxed state of being.     [29:14 - 33:52]  Stop Comparing Yourself to Others   Understand your personality structure and how it may influence your tendency to compare yourself to others. (i.e, if you're a type four on the Enneagram, envy and comparison may be a part of your emotional habits). Recognizing this can help you to step back and observe the behavior rather than identifying with it as an intrinsic part of yourself. When you notice yourself comparing yourself to others and feeling negative emotions, focus on relaxing your body and creating an open, relaxed state.  Cultivate an attitude of openness and receptivity to the present moment and to yourself. When you're in this state, you're less likely to be caught up in comparisons and negative thoughts. Spirituality, or receptivity, can also help shift your perspective away from comparison. This could be something as simple as becoming more present or mindful. By focusing on receptivity, you can move into a different dimension where comparison is not possible.   [33:53 - 37:23] Rachael Jayne Shares a Client's Success Story Jennifer was able to escape corporate and start her own business with the help of Awakened School   She learned to write her book and become a great speaker. She also went through the spiritual and personal realm with a meditation retreat and the Art of Feminine presence. Through Rachael Jayne's programs,  Jennifer was able to shift her mindset and achieve her first million within two years. She was also able to work through her traumatic childhood experiences by being open to receive work, which helped her to relax her system and avoid triggers.   [37:24 - 40:09] Closing Segment  Connect with Rachael Jayne through the links below  Follow us on social media and leave a review Final words   Books by Rachael Jayne Groover Powerful and Feminine: https://302.buzz/PowerfulFeminine Divine Breadcrumbs: https://302.buzz/DivineBreadcrumbs   Connect with Rachael Jayne Groover Website:  Awaken Your Impact | TheAwakenedSchool.com  Website: Unwavering Stillness Mini-Retreat Interest (theawakenedschool.com) Website: https://rachaeljayne.com Facebook: Rachael Jayne Groover | Facebook Instagram: @rachaeljaynegroover Twitter: @RachaelJGroover) / Twitter LInkedIn: Rachael Jayne Groover | LinkedIn Pinterest: www.pinterest.com/rachaeljgroover/ Youtube:  Rachael Jayne Groover - YouTube   Here are some another episodes you might enjoy as well: For all the following episodes, go to https://lifeaftercorporatepodcast.com/ Ep 56.  Do You Have a Deeper Purpose Within You? When Your Marriage Vision Gets Blurry

When Your Marriage Vision Gets Blurry January is the time where we focus on the vision for our marriages, relationships, and lives. If we are not intentional with our marriage vision, we will experience vision loss in marriage. In today's episode I talk about how it may be time for us to take a deep look inside of our vision statement to see if we are really practicing what we are believing for.   Do You Have a Vision? The first thing to look at is if you have a vision for your marriage. If not, refer back to the episode 126: How to Create a Vision for Your Marriage: My Step-by-Step Process.  Having a vision is so important to understand where you're at, where you're going, and where you want to be. It may seem like common sense, but you could be experiencing vision loss in your marriage by simply not having a vision. Be sure to listen to this hilarious story around the 22:30 mark!   Prioritize Your Marriage It's important to stop and really take a look at what is important in your marriage. Where is the place in the relationship that you think needs more nurturing? When we pause, analyze and figure out what is most important in our marriage, it allows us to really prioritize the things we want and need the most. Take a look at your vision with your partner. Understand where you are, where you want to go, and what is most important right now. Vision loss in marriage can happen if both people are not focused on what is most important.   Marriage Goals & Alignment It's time you and your spouse get very clear on what your goals are together. Both partners in the relationship should be on the same page when it comes to the marriage vision. If this is not happening, vision loss in marriage can start. Come together, agree on the things you both want, and create a plan of action. Make sure that there aren't competing visions that could make you work against each other. This is what unity in marriage is all about. When you become aligned in your marriage vision, you will see your marriage strengthen.    Tweak & Set New Goals Your marriage vision may need to be tweaked from time to time. Maybe there were situational changes that no longer align with your original goals and vision. It's okay to change aspects in your vision. Like most things in life, sometimes we need fine tuning to get it just right.  Maybe you and your spouse are high achievers and you are ready to work on something new. Creating new goals in marriage is a way to get clearer on your vision as a couple. Perhaps you've started to feel stagnant, leading to vision loss in your marriage. Get a fresh perspective and set some new goals together that you can achieve. Sometimes all we need is something fresh and new to get us going again.   Drastic Measures May Be Needed Course correction may be needed if you feel like you are turning your wheels in the mud. Feeling stuck in your marriage calls for drastic measures. Sometimes couples may need a vision correction. I share a similar example of how I took drastic measures with my physical vision when my health become jeopardized.  It's possible that some things may have changed when you created your original vision. Change is okay, as long as it works for both people in the relationship. Evaluate your vision, acknowledging where it's gotten blurry, and decide on a course of action to focus on your marriage vision again.   Links Mentioned in this Episode Thrive Wives Group Coaching Starts Soon!   SUBSCRIBE | SHARE | RATE | COMMENT To ensure you never miss an episode, be sure to subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Spotify, Stitcher, iHeart Radio, or wherever you listen to podcasts. I want to wish everyone hearing this message a very happy and prosperous New Year. Our 2023 will largely be what each of us intends to make it. So I hope you have some great things planned for 2023. And if you've listened to me for any length of time, by now you likely know that in my positive outlook, I am a realist. Things don't always go as planned. We should expect that and be ready to manage that change, as much as it is in our ability to manage, and what we cannot manage we must accept and navigate. I'm not perfect at accepting change, but I can tell you that when I do it well, it is liberating and illuminating. It is liberating the instead of dealing with resistance, I am able to manage the energy of change to my advantage. It is illuminating, because when my focus is not on resisting, it can shift to focusing on learning and opportunities that might have otherwise gone unnoticed. In 2023, I look forward to sharing more with you that you might find helpful for your personal life, your career, or that might cause you to see something from a new and different perspective that will be beneficial for you and those who you influence. Finally, I want to end this year and begin the new one with gratitude. Thank you for being a part of Do You Have a Couple of Minutes. A special thanks to those of you who have reached out to support this work with messages of encouragement and messages sharing positive impact. I'm even going to thank my haters, who not only help draw traffic to the show, but who I choose to see as a sign of greater reach! And finally, to those who have rated and commented on this show on the various social media channels, Thank you for that support, it means a lot. Today, I am honored and blessed to have here with me again, Dr Mindy Pelz. She is a holistic health expert, author and speaker who is on a mission to educate men and women about their bodies through her vast experience and expertise in fasting, which can help us take control of our health. She is the author of the most anticipated and upcoming book Fast Like a Girl: A Woman's Guide to Using the Healing Power of Fasting to Burn Fat, Boost Energy, and Balance Hormones, which goes on a deep dive on ketosis and how hormones have the biggest impact to achieving a healthier body. In this episode, Dr Mindy sheds light on the flaws of the current healthcare system. She believes there is no all-in-one solution even to the most basic problem, especially if it's a problem related to our hormones. Tune in as we talk about the diet culture, educating teenage girls about hormonal changes, and the sad reality of the hormone literacy problems we are currently facing. The Main Themes That Dr Mindy Discovered Our food intake and modern toxicity are some of the reasons why we are sick Dr Mindy doubles down that evolutionary mismatch, especially among women, is one of the main culprits of why we are sick Stress-eating work against our hormonal cycle The thrifty-gene hypothesis proposes that humans who were able to survive long periods without food were due to the thrifty gene that allowed them to move into ketosis at a much quicker rate [17:03] We Got The Diet Culture Wrong! Here's Why Dr Mindy strongly believes that the notion that there's one diet to keep you healthy or lose weight is erroneous. Metabolic switching helps the body to get the required energy it needs depending on the situation; the key is the constant in and out People always look for “absolutes” in healthcare, but the body doesn't respond well to those absolutes [30:23] What Happened to Dr Mindy When She Started Fasting? Dr Mindy discovered that cycling in and out of fasting assisted her in alleviating her menopausal symptoms Identifying the quirks of hormones allowed Dr Mindy to identify the diet she needs Progesterone needs more glucose. If you want to maximize estrogen, keep your blood sugar down If you want to have a healthy ovulation, work on the microbiome and the liver, and you don't want to go deep into ketosis Plan your diet in various phases, power phase, manifestation phase, and nurture phase [37:38] We Have a Hormonal Literacy Problem! How Do We Fix It? Dr Mindy spoke to thousands of doctors and found out that only a handful of them understood the underlying facets of hormones in our bodies She believes that we have a hormonal literacy problem, and women are the most affected as an imbalance in their hormonal cycle is being villainized Teenage girls should be taught early on about the emotional, physical, and chemical stress The language of hormones should be brought back because it helps control our mood, energy, and sleep. It helps control how we gain and lose weight. Understanding hormones means understanding the ins and outs of the body [50:58] Do You Have an Eating Disorder? Here Are Some Precautions YOU Should Know Before Fasting! If you have an eating disorder, you need to work with a health coach or your psychologist who has a deep understanding of fasting Fasting is done best when done with the community Working with the community on your fasting journey and connecting with them lifts up your oxytocin The strength of your marriage and the quality of your friendship plays an important role in living a healthier life and happiness You might want a quick fix to problems, the best way to diet or fast, but don't lose sight of the importance of community  [58:47] Diet Failed Us! 2023 is going to be a huge year! So, let's talk about your law firm's marketing plan again! There is a huge difference between having a great marketing plan for your law firm and executing a great marketing plan. Especially since you're investing your money, time and effort in marketing into getting that phone to ring. You want to make sure to have these things locked down first. We have to make sure the team is trained exactly as we want to be, and you want to ensure that everything falls into place and that clients can do business with you super easily! So don't miss any opportunities! Here is a checklist of Tips on getting the basics right when it comes to executing a great marketing plan: How Long Does Your Website take to Load? How long does your website take to load? We are so impatient these days that we want everything NOW. You need to make sure that your website is loading no more than 2.5 seconds. Check on a regular basis, at least twice a year. Have someone speed it up and check it, you can google to check website speed. Load and check your site regularly to ensure a fast-loading website. Are All Your Contact Information and Call to Action Buttons Clear? You don't want to be hunting around trying to find a contact and those pages are not linking properly. These are enough to put people off to find someone more convenient. Make sure contact information is not hidden in the footer, it should be at the very top of the page. Like the calendar link, call-to-action buttons like “book now” should be at the top. 75% of clients only check the above-the-fold, and they don't scroll down. Make sure your buttons and contacts are obvious on your website. Are Your Website Contact Forms Adequately Connected to the Correct Email? Ensure that your “contact us” button on your website actually goes to the right email address. It's these little things that can go missing and make sure it is correctly connected to whoever's role it is assigned to (e.g. receptionist) to ensure that emails are responded to quickly. If not, your prospective clients will move on to someone else. For an inquiry have someone instantly email them back and ensure it's not you doing it. Are Your Phones Answered Promptly? In our experience, if you can't answer in 3-4 rings client hangs up and find another. They move on to the next one. Get people to phone your office. Test and know how your phone calls are answered. Train to answer promptly how to deal with multiple calls and how many rings you want the calls to be answered. Do You Have the Right Person Answering For You? Do they know what to do with the calls? Remember, your receptionist is the 1st impression of your law firm. Your receptionist should be confident, friendly, welcoming and efficient. And they should know their limitations. Are Your Email Inquiries Responded to Quickly? You need to have a system in place to ensure that it happens really well. Email response should be within the hour. Do you know what's happening to those inquiries? As a law firm ower sometimes we forget that other people don't think like us. Little things like how quickly you want to respond to enquires. Training and setting them up with expectations, policies, and procedures are going to really help. Can Prospective Clients Actually Get An Appointment With You Quickly? Is there availability on your calendar? You spend money and time driving people to your calendar app. Make sure it looks like you have availability and the receptionist fits them in for the next availability to make it more appealing. Make sure that the calendar app is not connected to each lawyer's calendar instead, create one calendar app open all the time with 100% availability. Set up Client Reminders to Prospective Clients To Their Appointments Ensure booking turns up by having a team (e.g. receptionist) phone the prospective clients of their scheduled appointment to avoid no-shows. Make Sure to Spell Out to your Clients to Retain You. You converted a client to an initial appointment, whether paid or free…what next? Spell out how they can actually retain you. Now that they know how to retain you and clients may not know. Make sure to spell it out. Make it clear. Sign a cost agreement and put money in trust so you can start. And they know that they have a lawyer that is committed to them and know that the work gets done for them Get these basics and essentials done before putting all the efforts into your firm's marketing. To have a seamless system in putting efforts in your marketing and well-oiled machine, and you are ready to start marketing the heck out of your law firm for 2023. Inside the SCALABLE BUSINESS LOUNGE, we have been doing our entire marking strategy last week to fully plan the entire year, leaving nothing to guesswork. If they execute these plans their firms are going to be on fire for 2023. If you want to have a surefire Marketing plan for 2023 inside the lounge, you can sit through the worksheets so you too can work out and watch the videos we recorded, you too can create your very own marketing strategy where you know everything is planned out. Winners Never Quit? It's an overused cliche that winners never quit, and quitters never win. The only problem with that, of course, is that it oversimplifies the reality of the world we live and lead in. So much of what we do as leaders of projects and teams is to make decisions. And could it be our inability to quit a project, a vendor, a tool, or a team member--could it be that even our career is being hindered because we're persisting instead of quitting? In this episode, I'm joined by one of my favorite voices on decision-making. Annie Duke is the author of a new book entitled Quit: The Power of Knowing When to Walk Away. You may know of Annie because of her previous books on decision-making, such as Thinking In Bets. In this episode, we're going to discuss something that wasn't elaborated on in her earlier books. We're going to talk about quitting--and, assuming you keep listening--you don't quit--you're going to walk away with some practical ideas that you can start using this week. Help for Getting Out of High Conflict When you think of the word conflict, what comes to mind? I ask because I've had the opportunity to pose that question to groups around the world. How would you respond? What I hear most often is words like Stress. Arguments. Tension. Avoid! Rarely do I hear Opportunity. Or disagreement. I'm excited to welcome Amanda Ripley to the podcast. Amanda is the author of one of my favorite books from this last year. It's entitled High Conflict: Why We Get Trapped and How We Get Out. It's not just a book about the brain. It's a book that introduces you to your brain. For those of us responsible for leading teams and projects, learning how to avoid the traps of high conflict--and how to get out of them if we're there--is critical to our success. And in a world of increased political and social polarization, we have a real opportunity to be a force for good instead of just adding fuel to the fire. They talked through the week's big national security news, including:“Paper Rocks Censors.” China has erupted in protests against Xi Jinping's draconian zero-COVID policies, with thousands of Chinese citizens holding up a blank white sheet of paper as a sign of their discontent. Will these “white paper” protests make a difference in China? How should the United States respond?“A Cheney Might Shoot You in the Face, But They'd Never Stab You in the Back.” Last week, the Washington Post reported that more than a dozen current and past staffers on the Jan. 6 committee are angry with co-chair Liz Cheney for decisions to focus the committee's final report on conduct related to former President Trump. Is there merit to these complaints or do they seem overblown?“Much Guaido About Nothing?” The Biden administration is easing sanctions on Venezuela, as talks loom between the incumbent Maduro regime and recognized government-in-exile of opposition leader Juan Guaido. Does this signal a major shift in U.S. policy towards Venezuela? Or are those condemning the move overblowing the situation? As for object lessons, Quinta engaged in a bit of self-promotion over her recent Atlantic piece on the forthcoming Supreme Court case Moore v. Harper. Scott indulged in a Werner Herzog impression to recommend a new documentary directed by his son, "Last Exit: Space." Nikolas urged listeners to check out a recent interview with former German Chancellor Angela Merkel on her legacy and the current state of affairs in Europe. And Tatiana poured one out for free speech and passed along a recent article in New York Magazine, "Do You Have a Right Not to be Lied To?" Hosted on Acast. Featured Content (8:38) When It Comes to Picking Edtech, Are Schools Listening to Teachers? (EdSurge) When your school or district decides to invest in and make a new edtech product available, the goal is to transform student learning and add value to their experiences in the classroom. But where in the process do you fit in? If you're a teacher what, if any, is your role? And how much say do you—or should you—have in edtech decisions? In a survey released earlier this year, the edtech company Clever found that 85 percent of administrators say teachers are involved in choosing tools. When the company asked teachers, more than 60 percent said they were hardly ever—or never—involved in those choices. So which is it? Do You Have a Seat at the Table Is there enough teacher voice in the edtech selection process? NO. Why? Well first, teachers aren't the people in a position to spend district resources and sign contracts with vendors. At a fundamental level, this puts distance between the companies and the teachers. #2...when it comes to purchasing #edtech focus is usually on the tech and not the education. So your tech personnel is usually more involved because the tech needs to work before it can be used to teach. Striking a Balance So how do we find that balance? A major obstacle is that teachers, and I've been guilty of this, don't always see the big picture and have that birds-eye view. Think data security, FERPA, & COPPA. Schools and districts can easily involve teachers by running pilot programs before widespread adoption and implementation. Let some teachers kick the tires with their students and get feedback. This makes perfect sense because at a basic level people want to be heard and valued and if technology is just being mandated then, teachers don't feel heard or valued. Speaking of mandates...that's not always the best idea. Making everyone use one specific tool isn't always what's good for everyone. Choice and options are powerful. Who Gets a Say? Typically it's people out of the classroom who have the most say. Sometimes that's completely valid. There are plenty of organizations, certifications, and degrees that can give a person the knowledge to make those decisions and have a lot of pull in the conversations. But if a person is all books smart and not street smart - and by street smart I mean 5 or more years of classroom experience - then their opinion and POV don't hold as much water - in my opinion. Technology can make a teacher's life easier but it will never replace us and there is no magic pill that will solve all edtech issues. So beware of those that sell this brand of #edtech snake oil. Feeling Left Behind Another key challenge is that schools and districts often make purchases meant to support all teachers, even though the needs of teachers vary widely by subject matter and grade level. Hello Phys. Ed. Teachers! Can you think of another subject area that benefits less from edtech in your district? It might even be true that there is more technology available to assist a PE teacher than in any other subject area. Could you imagine a Peloton lab in your middle or hs where students could differentiate their fitness based on their individual health goals and needs? We have the ability easily collect health and fitness data but when was the last time the phys ed dept was involved in the edtech decision process? We're leaving some teachers behind. Collaboration From the Start How do we get collaboration from the start? Well if you're in a small school setting then it's really easy to get everyone's opinion. But what if you're in a district with 12 schools, 1500 teachers, and over 10,000 students? Or a district that's larger than that? Teacher buy-in has to come from the ground up. Every content area needs to have a voice and advocate for its needs. School and district officials need to work with classroom teachers and talk honestly about their edtech needs. We have committees for just about everything so if there isn't one, there should be an # edtech-related committee in each school that has a seat at the table and is valued in the edtech selection process. What is the edtech selection process like for you? What role do you get to play in the process where you are? Do You Have a Personal Relationship with God and Pray Directly to God, the Creator of the Universe, for the Needs of Others? MESSAGE SUMMARY: Will you come before God with your prayers, and for whom will you pray? We can and should come before God on behalf ourselves and others -- intercessory prayer. You and I are given the privilege of following Moses' example when he prayed to God on behalf of his people in Psalms 102:1-2: “Hear my prayer, O LORD; let my cry come to you! Do not hide your face from me in the day of my distress! Incline your ear to me; answer me speedily in the day when I call!". Because of what Jesus has done for us, we can exercise this privilege of praying directly to God, the Creator of the Universe. You come before God by talking to Him with your prayers and in a personal relationship with Him. For whom and what do you pray?   TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, I now take a deep breath and stop. So often I miss your hand and gifts in my life because I am preoccupied and anxious. Grant me the power to pause each day and each week to simply rest in your arms of love. In Jesus' name, amen.   Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 132). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. Leadership Lessons Over the years of hosting the People and Projects Podcast, we've heard from authors from all kinds of backgrounds. I enjoy bringing you insights from researchers and professors and authors from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. But I particularly enjoy talking with people who have been in the trenches--they've had to lead in daunting situations, and they have the stories--and the scars--that come from being in the arena. In this episode, you're going to hear from someone just like that. Jim Wetrich has led teams on three continents for more than 40 years. Jim, who also goes by the name Big Red, has put his top lessons about leading into a new book entitled Stifled: Where Good Leaders Go Wrong. In this episode, Big Red talks about how failing fast is easy to say--and important--but can also be difficult emotionally. He talks about why self-awareness is critical for leaders--and why we probably struggle with it more than we realize. We talk about hypocritical leaders and what we can do to make sure we don't come off that way to our teams. Big Red shares how he manages the tension between getting his hands dirty but not micromanaging. Before we're done, we'll talk about the importance of staying positive, office politics, and more. I can't wait to share this discussion with you. Learn more about Big Red and his book at JimWetrich.com/. Do You Have a High School or College Age Student in Your Family? Career Advice for Women (and Men) Most days you can find me working with a group of leaders, helping them learn how to improve their ability to lead and deliver. This last Thursday I looked around the room that was filled with people in a project management exam prep program. Interestingly, all of the participants were women. That's characteristic of a trend we see week in and week out--project management is a rewarding and accessible career path for women to pursue. And though that is true, there are barriers that women encounter that can hinder their ability to maximize their career potential. I'm excited to introduce you to the work of Christie Hunter Arscott. Christie is the author of a new book entitled Begin Boldly: How Women Can Reimagine Risk, Embrace Uncertainty, and Launch a Brilliant Career. In this episode, Christie talks about what she means when saying we should reimagine risk. She talks about her research-based, highly practical framework for navigating career risks in a balanced, even agile way. We discuss why the phrase “Good things come to those who wait” is a myth--and why a different way of looking at that phrase can make an enormous difference in your career. Christie talks about courage--being bold--including what it means to take micro-acts of courage. It's an engaging discussion that I've been so looking forward to sharing with you for many weeks. Life is always more fun when you chat with Lisa Phillips #NotHarris (but her, too). So when I had a chance to talk with Lisa about Cold Dead Night and the amazing series that she's planned to go with this, I knew I was in for a lot of fun. Listen in and find out about ALL the bookness (20 of them suckers), the other series she's doing and the super-cool news she has for us about something else coming. I'll just put it this way. I'm crazy excited.  Psst... you can listen to another episode with Lisa in Episode 66 or Episode 84! When the Good Guys Write You Off, Do You HAVE to Help Them Again? Prolific author, Lisa Phillips, is more than just a writing machine. She's also just a whole lot of fun. Chatting about Cold Dead Night blew me away, though. Twenty books, folks. One every other month!  We're talking WHEEEEEEEEEE!  Lots of good stuff. Her character, Kenna, sounds like exactly the sort of character I love--someone complicated, with issues, a broken past, and on the way to redemption. What could be better? How about a slow-burn romance that spans the whole TWENTY books??? Oh, yeah!  One perspective for all twenty books?  Kenna's.  EEEP!  Add in surviving a serial killer in her past and all the trauma that goes with it, surviving being betrayed by the FBI... And surviving the wild ride all over the country that Lisa is going to send her on (well, I assume she survives or we're looking at a ghost POV at some point. Doubtful). Not only that. After hearing about Cold Dead Night, and the Brand of Justice series, I am already starting a "gimme" campaign. And I need your help. Everywhere you see Cold Dead Night promoted, tag Sunrise Publishing and beg for a spin-off! Maybe if we all beg enough, we can get even more of this series! Yep, Sunrise Publishing, we want spin-offs of the Brand of Justice series! Don't forget. Cold Dead Night is available. Right now. In paperback. I checked. It's live (and I have one in my eager little hands!). Cold Dead Night by Lisa Phillips The FBI betrayed her. Now they need her. Private Investigator Kenna Banbury lost everything two years ago at the hands of a serial killer. From the ashes of that encounter, she's built a life she believes in, searching for the lost and forgotten all over the western US. Bringing her own brand of justice. When a series of murders drags her into an FBI investigation, Kenna finds herself back in the place where it all went wrong. Struggling to make sense of the case, Kenna's past and present collide in a deadly plot that risks another betrayal and threatens to shatter everything she's built. Kenna faces the darkest part of her past in this first book of a brand-new series from Lisa Phillips. You can learn more about Lisa Phillips and Cold Dead Night on her WEBSITE.
