In today's reading from Jeremiah, Fr. Mike points out how God rejoices in doing us good, and wants to pour out his grace and mercy upon us. As we begin reading from Judith, he explains that, while it might not be historically accurate, the story is there to convey truth. The readings are Jeremiah 32, Judith 1-2, and Proverbs 16:25-28. Peace the World Can't Give: The Promise of the Holy Spirit – John 14:15–31 In Episode 150 of Divine Table Talk, Jamie and Jane finish John 14 with one of Jesus' greatest promises: we will never have to walk alone. As Jesus prepares His disciples for His departure, He promises the coming of the Holy Spirit—the Advocate, Helper, and Teacher who will remain with them and remind them of everything Jesus has taught. Then, in the middle of uncertainty about what comes next, Jesus gives them something the world cannot manufacture: His peace. Together, Jamie and Jane explore what it means to recognize the presence of the Holy Spirit in our everyday lives, how love for Jesus shapes our obedience, and the difference between temporary peace based on circumstances and the lasting peace that comes from Christ. Jesus never promised His followers a life without trouble, questions, or uncertainty. He promised something better: His presence in the middle of it. If your heart has been anxious, overwhelmed, or searching for peace, pull up a chair. John 14 reminds us that we have a Helper, we have His presence, and we have a peace the world cannot give. Reflection Question: Am I looking to my circumstances to give me peace—or am I learning to receive the peace Jesus has already given me? ____________________________________ Connect with Jamie: Website: www.jamieklusacek.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jamieklusacek Connect with Jane: Website: www.janewwilliams.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/janewwilliams

Are you going through the motions—or are you bringing fourth quarter energy to your life?In this episode of The You Are More Podcast, Amy challenges you to stop sitting on the sidelines, stop waiting until you feel ready, and make this next season count.Maybe you're not as far along as you thought you'd be. Maybe this year hasn't gone according to plan. Maybe fear, disappointment, procrastination, or broken commitments have taken some of your momentum. You're not finished.Fourth quarter energy means deciding that regardless of where you are today, you're going to bring your focus, attention, discipline, and effort to what happens next. Amy shares why you sometimes have to do it scared, why avoiding difficult things can weaken your confidence, and how keeping even small commitments to yourself begins creating a history of trust and confidence. She also talks about the importance of becoming your own best cheerleader. Stop waiting for somebody else to remind you that you're capable. Speak life over yourself. Remind yourself that you're favored, blessed, equipped, and carrying the wisdom of God into whatever room you're walking into. And be careful who you share your dreams with. You don't need everyone to understand what God has placed in your heart. You need a sacred few faith friends who can believe with you, pray with you, and remind you who you are when disappointment comes. Amy's challenge for you is simple:Do one hard thing today.Make the call. Set the appointment. Have the conversation. Take the walk. Start the project. Take one tiny action toward the thing you know you're supposed to do.Then do it again tomorrow.Because when you repeatedly do the hard thing, the hard thing becomes easier—and you build a history of confidence that reminds you that you're well able. Get in the game. Go all in. Make this next season count.Your best days are ahead of you.

Thought to share? Send me a text...What if temptation isn't always about wanting something bad—but about being tempted to stop trusting God and take matters into your own hands? When you're exhausted, lonely, disappointed, impatient, or waiting for God to move, it can be easy to reach for something that promises relief, control, or a faster way forward. In Luke 4, Jesus faces three temptations that reveal how subtly the same struggle can show up in our everyday lives: meeting our own needs, taking shortcuts, and asking God to prove Himself.Rather than simply showing us how to “try harder,” Jesus shows us what it looks like to remain rooted in what we know to be true about God—even when our circumstances make trust difficult. In this episode, you'll discover: How to recognize three subtle forms of temptation that can pull you toward self-reliance and away from trusting God.  Why even a good desire can become dangerous when you pursue it through shortcuts, control, or something God never intended to meet that need.  How knowing God's Word and character can help you respond to temptation with confident trust instead of allowing your circumstances to redefine who God is. Press play to learn how Jesus' response to temptation can help you recognize where you're taking matters into your own hands and choose to trust God's provision, His way, and His character instead.New episodes every Tuesday and Thursday mornings. To connect with Betsy for speaking, resources, or curriculum head to https://betsymarvin.com/contact-me/For access to past podcasts and transcripts, head tohttps://betsymarvin.com/podcasts/A Christian podcast centered on Jesus, the Bible, and God explores faith through the Old Testament and New Testament, sharing Bible stories and Bible explained insights to help women of faith and Jesus followers grow in faith, strengthen their relationship with God, and know God more deeply through Bible study, women Bible study, and practical Christianity, all while encouraging spiritual growth, understanding identity in Christ, and learning to understand Bible teachings to become closer to God.

Joshua 1:10–11 reminds us that following God often means taking action before we feel completely prepared. Joshua instructed the Israelites to get ready to cross the Jordan and enter the Promised Land, trusting God's direction even though they couldn't see everything that was ahead. Send us Fan MailShechem is more than a location on a map—it is a place where generations are confronted with the question of whom they will serve. From Abraham's altar and Jacob's rejection of foreign gods, to Joshua's covenant and Abimelech's disastrous kingship, the story of Shechem repeatedly returns to worship, allegiance, and kingship. In this episode, we explore the biblical context of Shechem and discover how one ancient place becomes a stage for the continuing choice between serving the Lord and following the gods and kingdoms of this world.

The "-ber" months are upon us, which means new sermon series at both churches. The Dundee church is waiting to hear Good News, love at work in real life, and the Batavia congregation is looking at the lectionary track, which is an amazing run of parables. The Good News starts on Sunday with a look at the late, great Dolly Parton, and the way she lived love into the world in ways big and small. And in Batavia, we ask with his disciples why Jesus insists on teaching in parables, which seem to both reveal and conceal at the same time. As the Fall arrives, there will be great stories, love scattered willy nilly, and Good News afoot.

Fr. Mike highlights verse 11 from Jeremiah 29: "I know the plans I have for you...plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Since we know God is a good Father, we too can count on this promise and know that God has a plan for each of us. The reading are Jeremiah 28-29, Daniel 10-11, and Proverbs 16:13-16. Fr. Mike explains why God asks his people to surrender to King Nebuchadnezzar even though it seems contradicting. We learn that God can use evil circumstances to win the hearts of his people back. In Daniel, as we read about the vision of the ram and the goat, Fr. Mike reminds us that prophecy is always shrouded in mystery. Today we read Jeremiah 26-27, Daniel 8-9, and Proverbs 16:9-12. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear.
