Today, we're joined by Duran Morley, an action sports enthusiast who has built a thriving business centered around adventure living. Duran is the founder and CEO of VanSpeed, a company that converts sprinter vans into recreational vehicles for adventure-seeking customers. College wasn't the right path for Duran, and he found that he learned best by doing. At just 17 years old, he opened the Van Mart, an e-commerce store selling van accessories. That venture has since snowballed into a full-scale, eight-figure annual revenue sprinter van conversion business, customizing vehicles not only for recreational use but also for mobile business opportunities. And he's only 24.Duran has taken the outdated 1980s RV design and transformed it into something modern, efficient and visually appealing. As an avid surfer, motorcyclist and camper van traveler, duran is the end user of his own products. His work has been featured in American Iron Magazine, hot Bike Magazine, roadkill Magazine and Hot Rod Magazine.Subscribe on Apple Podcast , Spotify or other major streaming platforms.Let's connect!Subscribe to my newsletter: Time To Live: Thriving in Business and BeyondWebsite: https://www.annemcginty.com/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/annemcgintyInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/annemcgintyhost

The 2014 Motorcycle Cannonball is in the record books! Buzz Kanter of American Iron Magazine will join us to with the the story of their adventures. The team definitely had their challenges in this years event. It is a story of perserverence and fortitude to say the least. Buzz will inform us of the successes and struggles. In true writers fashion we get a very descriptive and thorough review. Norm Nelson, rider for Cannonball Team 23 had a brilliant ride and finished the epic 4000 mile journey from Daytona Beach to Tacoma, Washington with a perfect score. They will be credited with second place out of a field of 100 riders but that definitely does not tell the entire story. Norm will give us his perspective on the  thrill of near victory and the agony of defeat. The 1926 BMW needed every bit of its 12 horsepower considering the big headwinds out West and the climb over the Rocky Mountains. Fate definitely played a role in the outcome for Team 23. Hear all about it as Norm shares his feelings and philosophies on this years event! We are delighted to bring you this in depth look at the outcomes and results for these two teams who joined us on the eve of the ride to discuss their hopes and plans for victory. We are going inside the numbers to get the human side with both of these guests now that the run is completed!

In this episode of Talking Motorcycles with Barry Boone we go inside SOZO Motorsports. Mark Adams, co-founder and CEO of SOZO Global Inc, joins us to discuss this 100% natural and nutricious beverage and the business opportunity it presents. This product has truly enhanced my motorcycle touring experience by focusing the mind and the body. For most motorcyclists, myself included, there are times in a riding day that your energy and focus slips. I consider this a very dangerous time in a touring day. SOZO Ignite takes care of that problem. Mark will be on to tell us the how and the why of this amazing product. We will also delve into the idea that you can earn tremendous income by being a SOZO distributor and enhance your financial life. Mark will tell us how it all works. Chris Banker, Manager of Communications for New Jersey Motorsports Park, will join us to discuss the season ending AMA Pro Road Race at NJMP. The Kawasaki Devils Showdown will be the venue where champions will be crowned. This track has produced epic battles and there are many fan friendly attractions in addition to the on-track activities. Chris will inform us of what they have planned for the season ending championship event for racers and fans alike. In addition to being the season championship race it is also the final American Superbike race under the AMA Pro banner. The two entities have enjoyed a long standing relationship and we will discuss the past and the future as well.  Last week on Talking Motorcycles we discussed the 2014 Motorcycle Cannonball just one day prior to it kicking off at the Daytona Beach Resort. 97 riders on their pre1937 vintage machines began their 4,000 mile journeys to Tacoma, Washington last Friday morning. Buzz Kanter of American Iron Magazine will be calling in to provide an update on their efforts in this years event. Our guests on that show were Buzz Kanter, Norm Nelson and Patrick Simmons of The Doobie Brothers. Buzz will update us!

In this episode of Talking Motorcycles we go LIVE with some of the top competitors of this years event which departs from Daytona Beach this Friday night and arrives in Tacoma, Washngton September 21st. This epic ride is done on motorcycles built prior to 1937. Riders will be required to navigate well, ride and truly have an understanding of their classic machines. Patrick Simmons, lead singer and guitar for the Doobie Brothers!  Norm Nelson is one of the best. He once rode his 1958 Harley-Davidson Sportster from Jacksonville, Florida to Alaska. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of that ride he did it again riding from St. Augustine, Florida to Alaska at 70 years old. He has won the vintage race at Datyona International Speedway 6 times on a Norton Manx. When the Historic Motorcycle Society chose Norm to ride in the event last year he nearly won it. In 2014, Norm and Team 23 are set to do it again hoping for a win. Norm will join us on this episode to discuss the ride just two days before they depart!  Buzz Kanter, Publisher/Editor in Chief of American Iron Magazine will be competing in the Motorcycle Cannoball for the third time. This will be my third ride across the US on a motorcycle much older than I am. Rode a 1915 Harley twin on the first Motorcycle Cannonball in 2010, a 1929 Harley JDH on the second one in 2012, and will be riding a 1936 VLH this time. Interesting mixture of excitement, anxiety and anticipation right now. Buzz Kanter and Norm Nelson typify the spirit of the Motorcycle Cannonball. Both are excellent motorcyclists who will tell their stories as to why they ride in this grueling yet rewarding event that covers 4000 miles of American roads from coast to coast.  Twitter: @twowheelb FB/Talking Motorcycles with Barry Boone   Barry
