Saying God is genderless with a straight face? (No pun)-Is it mathematically possible for both debaters to lose a debate? For all of the people saying that Billy Carson got destroyed, this clip from Wesley Huff demonstrates where sectarianism went into Biff's alternate 1980s timeline. Not only that...Wesley determines exactly how this apostasy occurred. This video points out two main ideas:1) The Creedalist Gospel went woke WAY before the culture did-God identifies using male gender pronouns, but His gender doesn't match His sex -"We" have never argued that God is male. Who is we??2) It's true because someone decided it was true-Historical Christianity-Historical Biblical Christianity -Biblical Historical Orthodox Christianity-Biblical Christianity Carries no authority except what they give themselves through repetition, consensus, and tradition. These are not arbiters of truth and its foolish to cite them as such. These terms are pressure-loaded with assumptions about their own validity, but they demonstrate how error becomes codified over time.Whether you're interested in history, religion, or lively debates, let me know what you think in the comments.EPISODE LINKS:Source Video from Capturing Apostasy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iovwFPZM7dg&t=1s PODCAST LINKS:Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/halestorm/id1438201012 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/6wmtsNQCl0ToLeSkt6j4hs?si=439a1219b7924c9a RSS:

Romans 7:13 Therefore did that which is good become a cause of death for me? May it never be! Rather it was sin, in order that it might be shown to be sin by effecting my death through that which is good, so that through the commandment sin would become utterly sinful. Apparently God knew we would never be able to understand how bad sin is in character without the Law. “Utterly sinful” means sinful beyond measure. It communicates that sin is excessively sinful. The fact that sin takes something that is holy, righteous, and good and uses it to effect our death reveals its hideous, evil nature. But let's contrast the nature of sin with the nature of righteousness. Righteousness takes something that is unmeasurably awful and evil, namely sin, and uses it to reveal the nature of love as it effects eternal life! Seeing how terrible sin is through its use of the Law should encourage us as we see how glorious righteousness is as it uses sin to reveal love. There is a very good chance that today, you and I will be given the same opportunity. Someone will sin against us, and the righteousness of Christ in us will take that opportunity to reveal the love of Christ through suffering without complaint, complete forgiving of the transgression, and allowing that person to stand in right relationship with us—if they so choose. What an incredible thought and encouragement as to what it means to live to love with Jesus. It is the exact opposite of the utter sinfulness of sin. I hope you'll introduce others to the Live to Love Scripture Encouragement podcasts by sharing today's podcast. And if you haven't visited livetolovewithjesus.com, I hope you'll do that soon. Unveiling Mormonism
What Mormons Believe About Humanity

Unveiling Mormonism

What does it mean to be human? What kind of beings are we, and how do we relate to God and everything God made? While Latter-day Saints use many words and phrases familiar to traditional Christianity, the underlying world view of Mormonism is very different from historic, biblical Christian faith. This is seen most dramatically when comparing what the two groups believe about the nature of God and the nature of human beings.Life Before Birth?Latter-day Saints believe that all human beings are eternal spirits. We existed before this earthly life as God's spirit children. In fact, they believe that human beings are uncreated and co-eternal with God. As the LDS scripture Doctrine and Covenants says, “Man was also in the beginning with God'' (93:29). In this view, human beings are not dependent on God for their ultimate existence. As premortal spirits, humans are seen as literal sons and daughters of heavenly parents. In the Pearl of Great Price (Abraham 3:22) we read, “Now the Lord had shown unto me, Abraham, the intelligences that were organized before the world was; and among all these there were many of the noble and great ones.” Apparently God provided these primordial “intelligences” with spirit bodies in the premortal life. The Bible teaches, however, that human life and existence begins in this world. Genesis 2:7 states, “Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man's nostrils, and the man became a living person.” When God made Adam, he did not place an already existing personal spirit into a physical body. Instead, he animated that body with the breath of life. The man's personal existence as a living being began at that moment.Literal Offspring of God?When Mormons say that human spirits were created by God, they mean that we actually became God's spirit children in the spirit world, before our birth. The LDS instruction manual Gospel Principles says:All men and women are literally the sons and daughters of God. ‘Man, as a spirit, was begotten and born of heavenly parents, and reared to maturity in the eternal mansions of the Father, prior to coming upon the earth…'”To Latter-day Saints, we are related to God in a similar way that children are related to their earthly parents. Hence we were not simply created by God, but “begotten and born” by our heavenly parents (God the Father and his spouse) - although LDS scriptures and prophets have not made explicit exactly how this works.By contrast, the Bible teaches that being a child of God is not a genetic relationship, but a spiritual one. Human beings become children of God by faith. John 1:12-13 says, “But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.” In other words, only those who trust in Jesus alone as Savior can join God's eternal family and become children of God. Romans 8:14-16 puts it like this:For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God's Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God's children.Anyone can become a child of God by adoption, when we receive His Spirit at the point of spiritual conversion. That happens in this life, not in some premortal existence. The Same Kind of Being as God?If people are literal children of God, it follows that we are of the same species as God. The LDS Church website, in an article called “Becoming Like God,” states:Latter-day Saints see all people as children of God in a full and complete sense; they consider every person divine in origin, nature, and potential. Each has an eternal core

Supernatural has been the topic of our last two weeks worth of episodes!! Here we are, at the very bitter end. It's sad, because endings are never fun, and are hardly ever as good as we hoped that they would be. That's not to say that this ending wasn't as good, but it's always sad to see something end! So, we are here to discuss the final three seasons. Everything comes to an end here on these three seasons. The fight between Amara, and God, as well as the fight between the Winchester team and God. To hear God's voice is so important and apparently, so simple! There is not one person who couldn't profit from hearing from God. The worst of fights could be settled and transformed into peace with just one word from God. The biggest of worries could be lifted in a moment - when God speaks. The most horrible illnesses could be healed, the strongest desires could be stilled, the deepest of questions answered - when God speaks. Apparently God speaks all the time, and since Jesus said: "My sheep hear my voice" -- those who follow him, can hear him... just hear him. Period. So much for the theory :-/ In "real life" It just sounds so different: If I talk to honest people, a lot of them are craving to hear from God, maybe for his guidance and for him to speak right into their situation, but can't hear anything. Others seem to hear something all the time, but aren't sure if they can trust these impressions that they have. Again, others are afraid to hear from God, since it could get uncomfortable quite quickly. Let's not forget that some people have done horrendous acts, all the while being sure they were following the voice of God. So hearing from God is simple? Are you kidding me? That's exactly why this Sunday we've invited Dave and Kim Olson from Canada to talk about this: Hearing from God. How?

Secrets can be tricky things; knowing when to keep one and when to tell someone else about it isn’t always clear. But if you’ve ever wondered how many secrets you can keep, science allegedly has an answer: According to a recent study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology most people keep around 13, five of which they’ve never told another soul. The study also revealed that keeping a secret is one of the most exhausting things we can do as they heighten anxiety, take a toll on our sleep and can even burden us in the same way that carrying a physical load for an extended period would. Apparently God isn't affected by keeping secrets in the same way as we are. In Ephesians chapter 3 we read about the mystery of the gospel revealed and the mystery is this: “that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.” God kept it hidden through all the generations of humanity that he had a plan to fully incorporate the Gentile nations (that means us) into the family of God. It seems like an odd thing to say that our God keeps secrets but he is after all God and who are we to question his wisdom? In fact, as we will discover on Sunday, it was for the purpose of displaying his infinite wisdom to the enemy that he chose to act in this way. We hope that you will join us as we dive deeper into the perplexing majesty of an infinitely wise God whose plans far outshine even the greatest of earthly designs.
