#015 – As the pandemic spread, Chip Bacciocco was faced with the difficult situation of determining what would happen to the Elevate 2020 conference. Hear how Agency Nation pivoted from an in-person conference to an online conference. The first question was how to translate the energy of an in-person kick-off to an online event. Being aware of what would and wouldn’t work was important and resulted in a big win right out of the gate. The keynote speaker did a fantastic job of shifting a stage presentation to a much-different online presentation by adding key visual elements that kept attendees highly engaged. Chip also talked about the challenges with sponsor participation and how they made sure they could connect sponsors with attendees and keep their sponsors happy. There were also many technical challenges to overcome including making sure everyone could login to the conference. One big takeaway is how the quality of content was important because the attendees wanted to learn. This is podcast #4 in our Big Wig Series with Chip Bacciocco, CEO of Trusted Choice. Independent agents must take the steps to become as sophisticated as the companies and the captives.

Because these guys are about to change the game...say what?!?!?!CAP (Consumer Agent Portal) is a united effort by the IIABA (Big I) to give the independent insurance agents an online presence. The personal lines market is being dominated by direct writers and as more gets taken away from us independents. But not for long...not if projectCAP has anything to say about it! *FUN FACT* Personal lines market share for the independent agent industry is 34% and falling. Increasing that share by only 1% would create $85,000 in independent agency commission per county!Almost 80% of consumers go online to shop for insurance (these are YOUR clients). The good news is less than 25% actually buy online (take that geico lizard!). But when they get that quote online, their next step is to search online to seek out an agent.
