Have you ever met someone that seemed to be happy when it didn't make any sense? Or even though they were sad, there was a calm control about them? The Bible talks about a joy that goes beyond our circumstances. This joy is rooted in none other than the Godhead. It is a joy found in the person of Jesus, in His life, death, and resurrection, and built up in us through our time in the presence of His Holy Spirit. So if you want to be the sort of person that seems to be in good spirits no matter what, it starts with time spent with THE Spirit of God. Be encouraged, step into praise, prayer, and meditation on Scripture and grow in Joy and you enjoy God's Christmas Presence.
The world may offer shiny distractions, but true joy comes from storing treasures in heaven, not on earth. This season, let's remember the real meaning of Christmas. It's not about the presents under the tree but the presence of Jesus in our lives.
Luke 1:26-56 26 In the sixth month of Elizabeths pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgins name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you. 29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacobs descendants forever; his kingdom will never end. 34 How will this be, Mary asked the angel, since I am a virgin? 35 The angel answered, The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. 37 For no word from God will ever fail. 38 I am the Lords servant, Mary answered. May your word to me be fulfilled. Then the angel left her.Mary Visits Elizabeth 39 At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, 40 where she entered Zechariahs home and greeted Elizabeth. 41 When Elizabeth heard Marys greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 In a loud voice she exclaimed: Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! 43 But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. 45 Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!Marys Song 46 And Mary said: My soul glorifies the Lord47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,48for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed,49 for the Mighty One has done great things for me holy is his name.50His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.51He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.52He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.53He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty.54He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful55to Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he promised our ancestors. 56 Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months and then returned home.

Today we look at lessons from Joseph's obedience in the Christmas story. Often overshadowed, Joseph played a crucial role in Jesus' birth and early life. Faced with societal pressures and personal fears, Joseph chose to follow God's command to marry Mary and raise Jesus. His righteousness, trust in God's plan, and willingness to embrace challenges serve as a powerful example of selfless obedience. Learn how Joseph's story teaches us to prioritize God's will over personal comfort, trust in His greater purpose, and support others in their times of need. How can we embrace God's presence like Mary did? Mary's encounter with the angel Gabriel teaches us about embracing God's presence and trusting His plan. Despite the challenges and uncertainties, Mary responded with faith and obedience, saying, 'I am the Lord's servant.' This story encourages us to trust God fully, even when it comes with a high cost, and to cultivate an informed faith that deepens our relationship with Him. "Facts are stubborn things." -Dr. Dix quoting John Quincy Adams Facts matter in legal and moral discussions. We have come to that proverbial turning point in our society. A turning point where the public discovered the terrible consequences of censored speech. And many emerged with wisdom. The wisdom to encourage all to participate in the discussion while valuing the voices and actions of those who truly contribute to society. Dr. Dix regales us with his deep understandng of history and economics as we peel the layers on this metamorphisis. One thing is certain, we are in a moment of inspiration. What are you going to do with it?

It's week two of our Advent Series, Christmas Presence and in today's message Pastor Aaron discusses how we can achieve peace in our tumultuous world.
Most people will say that spending time with people who matter is up there in terms of priorities, especially at Christmas. So why is there such a focus on buying something for your class? I don't think we need to buy gifts for our students - instead we should prioritise "presence". In this show I reflect on the power of spending quality time with our students, the benefits this has for engagement and also how it can support wellbeing.
Are you trusting God's word or relying on your own understanding? In the new series 'Christmas Presence,' we look at the lives of key figures from the original Christmas story, starting with Zechariah. Zechariah, a priest, and his wife Elizabeth longed for a child but were unable to conceive. An angel visited Zechariah, announcing that Elizabeth would bear a son named John, who would prepare the way for Jesus. Despite this miraculous message, Zechariah doubted due to their old age and was rendered mute until John's birth. This story highlights the importance of trusting God's word and the consequences of doubt. Zechariah's journey teaches us that obedience to God's word amplifies our influence, while doubt can silence it. As we prepare for Christmas, let us commit to trusting God's word and walking in obedience, experiencing His presence and influence in our lives.

Christmas Presence, Part 1
It's week one in our Advent 2024 Series of Messages "Christmas Presence". Today Pastor Mark shares how the presence of Jesus is the presence of Hope!
A few quiet moments, a chance to be alone and rest...sounds good, doesn't it? At times we want to be left alone, but no one wants to be alone. Christmas can be encouraging or discouraging, but it is rarelyneutral. Do you know why?? Christmas taps into an inborn drive we all have to connect. If we have deep connected relationships, Christmas magnifies them; if we don't and fight feelings of loneliness, Christmas magnifies that as well. Join us and find out how Christmas Presence changes things for all of us.
It's the most magical time of the year, but it's been a big bump back to earth for Fulham. Somehow we've followed up two 5-0 wins by conceding 8 goals in the Premier League without reply. The Boxing Day defeat to Bournemouth was one of our worst of the season, and in this episode we take a look at what exactly has lead to this sudden downturn in form. Also, we preview Arsenal on New Year's Eve, can we put in a performance against the title chasing gunners? Plus, we take more of a look at those FST's club meeting notes. 00:00 - Bournemouth review 30:00 - Arsenal preview 43:22 - FST meeting reaction & emails SHOW-LINKS: If you enjoy Fulhamish, please consider contributing a small amount monthly to help pay our costs. Pastor Garry Clark continues his Christmas series called, "It's All About Him!" Pastor Garry gets a little personal, talking about Christmas and his childhood, and how he really put no thought into the true meaning of Christmas, or Christ's Birth! He needed Christ's Peace, Christ's Joy, and Christ's Presence! So, that's the title of his message this week! It's the Christmas Present we all really need as this year comes to an end... Christmas Presence!
Jesus, God's Purifying Christmas Presence
Message Chris Brown on December 23, 2023. As we finish our study in the book of John today, we are also celebrating Christmas. We didn't plan it this way, but they both begin and end with the exact same point and purpose. Until we can apply the simple fact that God can be with us, both the book and the holiday are just two more symbols of another dead religion that leaves us disappointed and frustrated with a God who doesn't come through for us.
