The Trudge Report welcomes a very special guest this week. Friend of the program, Maggie York. Maggie comes to us with 17 plus years of experience, strength, and hope in recovery. Starting out in the accounting world, she makes the jump to the fashion industry, first in Chicago then to the Big Apple, before making the move to South Florida where she has a flourishing company. Maggie shares some of her most personal stories about her drinking days, getting sober, and a harrowing experience during 9/11. She was a great guest and we are all very proud to call her a friend. “We should always remember, all of us. No matter what color we are. No matter what language we speak. No matter the form of our politics or the expression of our faith. We all live under the same moon and the same stars. The crew is back this week with another episode. Join TRP as we kick things off with our usual around the horn segment. Next, Corey, Shawn, and Bill briefly discuss some local politics that directly affect our children's schools and safety. Then, the four of us go around and discuss our top five bucket list ideas. From extreme sports to destination vacations and everything in between. Each of us also discuss one or two things on our never to do bucket list.We finish up the show with a brief but in-depth look at the Academy award-winning and Golden Globe award winning movie, Conclave. This movie takes an in-depth look at how a new pope is elected, the logistics that go into this process, and the politics that shouldn't, but do, play a role. Our faith is a living thing precisely because it walks hand-in-hand with doubt. If there was only certainty and no doubt, there would be no mystery. Welcome back to another episode of Trudge Report. We want to first congratulate Greg on 9 continuous years of sobriety. We also want to wish all the mothers a belated happy Mother's Day and thank you for all you do and who you are. The boys go around the horn and give a recap on their weekends and any notable events. There is some quick discussion on the NBA playoffs, who we like, and who seems dead in the water. We transition to the recovery topic which is surrounding opinions and outside issues in our recovery groups and meetings. What topics are and are not appropriate for the recovery setting. Which of those topics help foster an atmosphere of not only recovery, but love and tolerance, while keeping in mind the guidelines of the group and the common welfare of the group. How we personally fall short in the meetings we go to and how we can be better ourselves and help hold others accountable. There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because consequence tells him that it is right. -Martin Luther King Jr-Don't forget to like, share, rate, and download the podcast on all of your listening platforms. Hello everyone and welcome to this week's episode of Trudge Report. The four of us are back in action. We do a quick check in on how everyone is doing and latest updates. Bill celebrates the big 40, Greg might have to get his toe cut off, and Corey discovers that he might be Disney royalty. We touch on a couple of trending news topics including DT superimposing his image as a pope, real life Star Wars flying vehicles, and the baseball fan who fell 20 ft over the ledge and into the outfield at the Pittsburgh Pirates game. We move to our recovery segment where we discuss problems that could beset the recovery group, i.e. compulsive talkers, big shotism, and bleeding deacons. How we deal with them on an individual and a group basis. Taking stock of our own missteps through the years in the recovery groups and how we can learn from them and teach others how to be better.Antagonize any situation, and you give it power against yourself; offer mental non resistance, and it crumbles away in front of you. -Emmet Fox-Don't forget to like, share, rate, and download the podcast on all of your listening platforms. Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of Trudge Report. On this week's episode we explore non-professionalism in recovery and the recovery groups. Why it is important for some to keep the altruism of recovery separate from their professional life, especially if they work in the field of drug and alcohol rehabilitation or counseling. Can you work in the treatment industry and stay spiritually grounded in your own sobriety? Two of our members have worked in the drug and alcohol recovery field in prior years so the group has the benefit of experience from all angles. We also go around the horn at the beginning of the show checking in with one another. We preview some of the extra YouTube content that has been posted and will be posted in the near future as we gear up for NBA playoffs. Corey and Greg continue to tease about wrestling content. Shawn has a moment recounting the events of Sunday's Masters Tournament. Not by might, nor by power, but by My spirit -GodDon't forget to like, share, rate, and download the podcast on all of your listening platforms. Join us this week as the Trudge Trio is here to bring you a new episode. We begin the show with a quick around the horn segment where Shawn makes a brief but very spirited argument on why NCAA March Madness may be the best of all playoffs and championships, college or professional. Corey and Greg wholeheartedly disagree and a short but good discussion arises. We introduce a new segment, where each of us describe one thing that we saw over the past week of someone doing a random act of kindness or witnessing kindness from one person to another. The main segment is all about where money and spirituality mix in the rooms of recovery. Where our donations and self support money goes and the different avenues for that money. Where it is not only useful, but necessary in carrying the message of recovery. We each detail some of our own personal experiences and what we have seen over the years. We also discuss how money can certainly be the root of all evil, and the recovery group is no different. How the primary purpose of carrying the message to the sick and suffering has to always remain the most important. We wrap this segment and the show with how each of us have utilized this principle of financial Independence and responsibility in our own lives. What's good for the recovery group is oftentimes just as important for the individual person in recovery.“There is no remote control to life. You have to get up and change the channel yourself.” -Anonymous Don't forget to like, share, rate, and download the podcast on all of your listening platforms. Join us this week on Trudge Report for an all-new episode. We are doing a deep dive research topic on Biohacking. Biohacking is a do-it-yourself (DIY) form of personal improvement in which people attempt to change aspects of their biology to improve their health, performance, or well-being. Each of us took a different subtopic. We explore the elements of wearable technology, diet, fasting, and supplements. Recovery is about being not only spiritually and mentally well, but physically also. We have some typical banter on the front end of the show and Corey almost gets struck by lightning.“History doesn't repeat itself, but it rhymes.” - Dennis Piehowski -Don't forget to like, share, rate, and download the podcast on all of your listening platforms. Greetings Trudge Report report fans. Welcome to a very special episode. We are happy to have Scott H on the show this week as a guest. Scott is a good friend of Bill and part of his recovery group. Scott shares his experience, strength, and hope. He has been sober a long time and has lived an absolutely full and abundant life, doing everything from being an NCAA division 1 swimmer, a firefighter in New York during 9/11, government contractor, and working security for DT. Scott was a great guest and we are very grateful to him for coming on the show and sharing his story.“The night view will not stay, it is followed by the day view." -Rev Howard Thurman Don't forget you can watch extra content surrounding sports and other topics on our Trudge Report YouTube channel. Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of your favorite Trudgers. This week is all about guidelines and safeguards in keeping recovery groups free of any other spiritual or physical affiliation, real or implied. The boys discuss the necessity in having the recovery group's focus on carrying the message with the least amount of outside influences from other organizations or agendas. How the recovery groups can cooperate with anyone but do not align themselves with any particular outside entity. We also have some light-hearted discussion about St Patrick's Day (Greg is in full garb) and if corned beef is overrated or underrated. We finish off the show with some housekeeping items and Corey humorously discusses some of his pet peeves at meetings. “The sick mind cannot heal itself." -unknownDon't forget you can watch extra content surrounding sports and other topics on our Trudge Report YouTube channel. Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to another episode of Trudge Report. Thank you for joining us again this week. We kick off the show with a bit of sad news about Corey's childhood friend that he has mentioned on the pod before. And, because we love and awkward transition, we go right into some very joyous news from Shawn's side of things hence, the circle of life in the title. The bulk of the episode is spent discussing how we achieve our primary purpose, that of carrying the message of recovery and hope to the alcoholic and addict that still suffers. We asked ourselves and each other some tough questions that force us to be honest. We end the show with some NFL free agency discussion and a few other housekeeping items. “The sick mind cannot heal itself." -unknownDon't forget you can watch extra content surrounding sports and other topics on our Trudge Report YouTube channel. Ladies and gentlemen welcome back to another episode of Trudge Report. We are reshaping the format a bit on weekly episodes. Going forward, we will be focusing primarily on recovery topics, with some other content briefly in the beginning and on the back end of the show. We have listened to the feedback from our listeners, and we want to focus on the subject we four know best, recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction. This will allow us more time to get in-depth on these topics. But don't worry, if you love our other topics full of nonsense, power rankings, and sports, we will be doing extra content surrounding these and putting them out on our watching platforms, YouTube and Facebook. Clips of these will also be posted to our social media sites. This week we dive heavily into the subject of group autonomy and individualism. Are we treating new members to recovery the same or different? Do we discount what new members or old timers have to say just because it differs from our opinion and experience? Do we share with others the tools and resources we have to help them be successful? Does the group conscience speak clearest and loudest with individual group issues or is one singular person trying to run the show? Do our actions as a group effect neighboring groups or the recovery community as a whole?Remember to keep an eye out on YouTube and Facebook for extra content around sports, wrestling, trending topics, and of course-a good bit of nonsense. What do belly shirts, knee high socks, high-stakes March Madness picks, and a near-death DUI crash have in common? One man: Danny P. On this week's episode we have a very special guest, Danny P, who is a long time listener and even longer time good friend of all four members of Trudge Report. Corey and Dan got sober together in the same halfway house almost 10 years ago and the rest of us became friends with Dan over the years. He comes to us from just outside of the Ohio State University campus. We delineate some of our history with him and the timeline of the friendships. There is no shortage of funny stories between Corey and Dan in their early days of sobriety and maybe even if you picture for all those who will watch this episode on YouTube or Facebook. In the first half of the show, we tell some stories and catch up a bit and spend a good chunk of time on some college basketball analysis. Dan is an avid UConn Huskie fan and overall fan of the sport. The second half of the show Dan tells his personal story of his journey through recovery. He is a father of two, business owner (see below), and an upstanding member of his community. He has a passion for the work that we do in recovery, and it easily shows in his talk. We love Dan and we are grateful for his listenership and more importantly friendship. Hello listeners and welcome to another episode of Trudge Report. We have a little bit of a different style show this week as Bill was a last-minute scratch off the starting lineup. He is practicing load management. Shawn had a top secret prior commitment in a far away land and was not able to join until about halfway through. Greg steers the ship and Corey does his best to sabotage the whole thing, and of course has to talk about the shoutouts he gets as he struts around (deservingly) in his Eagles garb. The duo get into the USA v Canada hockey game and more importantly the fight that broke out as soon as the puck was dropped. They also touch on the horrendous NBA All-Star game and how that whole event needs a makeover. Shawn joins the show from his undisclosed location. Next there is a nod to President's Day and some completely erroneous historical references thrown out by Shawn. Greg and Shawn detail their romantic voyages at Valentine's Day with their significant others, both having vastly different experiences.Greg brings a spiritual reading for the recovery topic that is all about inventory, watching out for anger, and what we do with these defects when they crop up. The three of us go around and share what the reading means to us and each of us use our personal experience to help expand the topic. Listen and watch along with us this week on Trudge Report as we break down the super bowl victory by the Eagles and the Kendrick Lamar halftime show. All four of us are together and we give Corey and his Philadelphia Eagles their props for an absolute dominating performance over the Kansas City Chiefs in the 59th edition of the super bowl. Surprise voicemail recording from a long time listener in Philadelphia about the game. Bill holds true to his statement that he was boycotting watching the game and the halftime show. We have a lot of fun but also break down key elements of the game and give our passionate but very amateur analysis. The recovery segment this week is all about membership guidelines and suggestions for different recovery groups. The importance of identification with the substance or affliction being talked about as well as with other members of whichever Recovery group is chosen. How we shouldn't, but do sometimes, judge other people in our meetings, and how important it is to make the newcomer feel welcome and for them to feel like they belong. This is episode 53. We have been at this officially for over a year now and we just want to take a moment to thank all of our listeners, watchers, and supporters. We wouldn't be here without you. For those of you who have not listened yet, you will.Contact the Guys:Instagram: @trudgereportpodFacebook: Trudge ReportTikTok: trudgereportpodYouTube: @trudgereportpod
Welcome to this week's episode of Trudge Report. Less than a week away from the super bowl, Cory is in full Eagles garb and emotionally holding it together. We touch on the upcoming matchup between the Chiefs and the Eagles, and even a few comments about the anticipated (by some but not all) halftime show. Bill is boycotting the entire event. For the first half of the show, it is a grab bag full of topics. Corey talks about his daughter's birthday party over the weekend. We touch on the two tragic plane crashes that happened earlier the week before. Bill discusses a very bizarre experience he had at a massage parlor, and no it's not what you think. Greg and Corey discuss some recent events in the wrestling world. If you are an NBA fan, check out our YouTube channel for a video posted on the Luka Doncic / Anthony Davis trade. The recovery segment is an extension of the unity topic from last week. We discuss how important it is for the group as a whole to make decisions based on everyone having the same information. How no one person or persons have more control or authority over a group, it is truly autonomous in nature. We discuss how important it is to allow anyone who is part of a recovery group to have there opinions and feelings be heard, and how the final decision of the group is God's voice shining through. We also touch on how important it is to have this same principle be practiced in our homes.Contact the Guys:Instagram: @trudgereportpodFacebook: Trudge ReportTikTok: trudgereportpodYouTube: @trudgereportpod
Welcome to this week's episode of Trudge Report. Join the boys this week as we recap an interesting AFC and NFC championship games from Sunday. Corey is running a little late because he's still celebrating the Eagles going back to the super bowl. First we touch on the most recent game between the Bills and the Chiefs. We ask some important questions and give our passionate analysis of some of the play calling and the overall legacy of both Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. Then we shift to the absolute dominating performance that the Philadelphia Eagles put on the Washington Commanders. There really are no words to describe the historic performance the Eagles laid out, but we certainly have some takes. We do a quick super bowl preview but more to come on next week's episode. The recovery segment is all about group unity. Individual welfare in recovery follows a very close second to the welfare of the group, for without the group, there would be no individual recovery. Each of us go around and share a little bit on our experiences in early sobriety with how important the group was for us and the integral part it played in our spiritual foundations.Contact the Guys:Instagram: @trudgereportpodFacebook: Trudge ReportTikTok: trudgereportpodYouTube: @trudgereportpod
Join the crew this week as we are recording directly at halftime of the Philadelphia eagles versus Los Angeles Rams NFC divisional playoff game. Corey's heart skips a few palpitations during the episode but ultimately he makes it through. The boys do a quick around the horn. Shawn gets to brag for a minute on his Commanders epic victory over the number one seeded Detroit Lions the night before. Bill gives an update on how his daughter's birthday party went. We touch on the Tik Tok outage and then Greg dives into the New York City congestion issue and how the city is now charging people to drive on its roads. The recovery segment is all about rock bottom. We go around and share our own personal stories how we hit rock bottom, what life was like at that time, and some of the things we did to recognize and eventually get out of our rock bottom. Join us this week on Trudge Report for a very special episode as we welcome Alexandria Baxley to the podcast. Alexandria, Alex, is a local sober member of the community who has a non-profit organization called THE ELIZABETH ROSE DITCH FOUNDATION. The foundation is in honor of her late friend, Liz, who passed away due to the deadly disease of addiction a few years ago. The foundation offers the emotional and mental health support to people struggling from drug addiction and mental health illness. It also helps supply people entering drug and alcohol and rehabilitation centers with necessary everyday items such as toiletries, slippers, and more. Today, how we are trying to be additive and pack into the stream of the holiday season, rather than trying to take out of it.Contact the Guys:Instagram: @trudgereportpodFacebook: Trudge ReportTikTok: trudgereportpodYouTube: @trudgereportpod

We do a quick whip around the NFL and then we talk about some trending topics such as a 950 lb cheddar cheese robbery and escaped monkeys from a South Carolina zoo.The recovery topic is about navigating the holidays in early sobriety. The crew is back this week as all four of us are together. We start with some housekeeping items and then Bill recaps his weekend trip to Siesta Key with his daughter and the majesty of the white sand. Join the boys this week on Trudge Report as we recap a very entertaining week 1 of NFL football. We talk some of the key matchups in our own personal favorite team's games along with some fantasy updates on how everyone did with the start of week 1. Find out which predictions were accurate and which predictions were way wrong. We quickly touch on some of the week 2 match ups that we are all looking forward to. Bill discusses his recent trip home to Pittsburgh and Greg gives us a rundown of his weekend away in Hawk Tua Hills (Hocking Hills). Our recovery topic for the week is how we deal with death and loss in recovery. Unfortunately, we have all personally known too many people that have passed away from the disease of alcoholism and addiction. It is an unfortunate but all too typical circumstance of being in recovery. But it's not just the people we lose in recovery, life doesn't stop, and family members and other loved ones that are not addicted still pass away. We discussed the emotions of this and how we lean on our support group and most importantly, the God of Our Understanding. This week on Trudge Report we do a preview of the week one in the NFL. Each of us touch on the games of our favorite teams plus a few other marquee matchups. The episode begins with Corey giving a heartfelt and somber shout out to Johnny and Matthew Godreau's family for the heartbreaking in tragic loss of the two brothers. On a lighter note, the boys go down a slight, but entertaining, rabbit hole of Commonwealth, Mid West versus East Coast cities, Dutch apple pie, and of course the Amish. The recovery segment for the week is about the vital importance of proper identification. Whatever affliction a person may have, it is crucially significant for a person who is trying to recover to find the right group of people that have the same addiction(s) as they do. Our very lives as people in recovery depend on how we use today with the groups and fellowships we join. Only people who share the same malady can help each other. We also spend a few minutes on reflection of Matthew Perry's death and the new story that has come out where they have criminally charged multiple people surrounding his camp at the time of his death, including his personal assistant, doctors, and others. We discuss how fame and money play an integral role in a high profile death such as this. Juxtaposing that with the everyday average Joe and Jane addict that dies from this disease including some personal experiences about friends of ours that we have lost. The recovery segment surrounds important topic of the desperate need for the addict and alcoholic to find a Power Greater than themselves. We agree, and most would, that this is the most important part of our recovery, and that without it, permanent sobriety is difficult, if not impossible. We also explain why it is so important that each individual person find this Power that is personal to them. How no one else can tell us what or who to believe in.Remember to please listen, download, and share on all of your listening platforms every Tuesday and you can watch episodes of Trudge Report on YouTube and Facebook later each week.Contact the Guys:Instagram: @trudgereportpodFacebook: Trudge ReportTikTok: trudgereportpodYouTube: @trudgereportpod

Greg and Bill are avid fantasy football aficionados and they give us their love hate takes on quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers. Shawn and Corey add some insight and opinions throughout the discussions. There is so much more to be said on this topic and we will have more NFL talk in the coming weeks as the season approaches. Our recovery segment this week is a blend of a few things. How we deal with other addictions. Taking prescribed medications. If needing to have a surgery/procedure, how we navigate and use the people around us if we had to take certain types of pain medication that would otherwise be completely off limits to us in recovery.Contact the Guys:Instagram: @trudgereportpodFacebook: Trudge ReportTikTok: trudgereportpodYouTube: @trudgereportpod
