After nearly 60 years and 25 (official) movies it's safe to say James Bond films have developed certain expectations. You have a disfigured bad guy with a vague accent, an island base, lots of henchmen, and a global threat. Add in some fast cars, the prerequisite beautiful women, and you start to get the idea that No Time to Die, Daniel Craig's final (he really means it this time) turn as James Bond is just like so many other Bond Films. Only, it's not. Ok, you know how sometimes the Regular Joes say there are SPOILERS and then try to be somewhat circumspect about what happens. Yeah, this is not one of those times. If you have not yet seen No Time To Die, and you want to, you really should do that first. This week the Joes ruminate and reflect on Daniel Craig's 15 year run as Bond, how those films hold up, and where the franchise goes from here. And yes, one last time, there will be *****SPOILERS*****

I am often asked how to overcome excuses when it comes to exercise. I usually give tips generic enough to help a person out so that they can take action. then I started thinking about how I struggled with weight gain and depression after I lost my wife in a car accident. I now had all the house responsibilities along with taking care of our 4 dogs, 2 cats, and 1 parrot, I also ran our German Shepherd Rescue. I was a full-time teacher and I ran a video and web production company from home. I had so many excuses not to exercise. No Time. No Motivation. No energy. In this episode, you will learn how I overcame my exercise excuses and got into the best shape of my life. Hello Friends. Today on the show we're returning to LA's favourite foursome, with The Monkees' third LP 'Headquarters'. Their 2nd of 3 LPs release in 1967, this marked their debut as a self contained unit, and was of course released in mono and stereo mixes at the time. However, while the previous albums we have look at from the group were littered with little mixing treats for us to pick out, things are a little more straight forward here. But despite this, which of these mixes should you be seeking out? For Pete's Sake, there's No Time to waste! The latest installment of the James Bond franchise, No Time To Die, closes the book on the Daniel Craig era of the international superspy. The film's theme song, “No Time to Die,” by Billie Eilish, Finneas, and Hans Zimmer, also marks the conclusion of one of the great musical sagas in recent cinema. Monty Norman's and John Barry's now-iconic “James Bond Theme,” written for 1962's Dr. No, has remained a constant across six decades of espionage and one-liners. But every new Bond theme has also developed subtle variations on the original that reflect the character's changes over time. On this episode of Switched On Pop, we uncover what inspired the theme, how it's changed, and why it almost never happened. In the wake of the excitement over No Time to Die, Mike and Dan take a look at a much different kind of spy thriller, Tomas Alfredson's "infuringly brilliant" 2011 adaptation of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. After acknowledging the film's complexity and the idea that "many first dates must have been ruined by this movie," Mike and Dan explain how the film teaches its viewers to think like a spy, how the film flips the usual motives seen in spy thrillers, and what makes for a perfect adaptation, as they think Alfredson's is. Of course, they compare it to the 1979 miniseries with Alec Guinness, heaping praise upon each. So give Karla your lighter, go for a swim, and join the guys for a conversation about a film they find fascinating and rewatchable.
