Following the breakup of their previous psych-gaze band Creepoid, Anna and Patrick Troxell forged an electro post-punk dynamic as the duo Lovelorn. And now the ATX-by-way-of Philly outfit is ramping things up with two new additions to the line-up, guitarists Steve Pike and Kyle Harris. No doubt extra shreds will add even more discordant dimensions […] The post What’s Yr Damage appeared first on KUT & KUTX Studios -- Podcasts.

We discuss the Philadelphia scene in the mid to late 90's, train hopping to go record shopping, how Pat got a security job at Emo's in Austin by beating up the drummer of a prominent band, living in a tree house commune and wild Creepoid tour stories including getting banned from Music Hall of Williamsburg and headlining a sold out show there a few months later. We also discuss his current work in the electronic drugpop duo Lovelorn and rising Philly Noise Rock stars Plaque Marks. Finally, Keith and Pat discuss their mutual admiration of Philadelphia legends Ink and Dagger and talk about how it was to record the upcoming Loverlorn LP with Don Devore. Welcome to the first remote book.record.beer cast a.k.a. the "Repisode!" In these quick "pick up and play" casts we will be proudly representing our local Philadelphian and up and coming writers, musicians and drinking establishments as we discuss shorter literary works, our current musical interests and indulge in a local brew supplied by our recording hosts! For this, our first of many soon to come remote episodes, we will open up the very tightly knit chatbook by Shasta Grant, discuss our current musical fascinations, both local and renowned, and finish with a very Philadelphian Yards Sons of Ben brew. Much thanks goes out to "The Foodery," our local Manayunk suds shop on Ridge Ave, where this episode was recorded and where we were allowed to nerd out on our three favorite things in the world. Cheers!

God dang it, Bobby! This week the rad crew is joined by the Mean Boys Podcast (Keith Carey, Joe Dosch, Connor McSpadden) to talk about the blue collar beauty of King of the Hill. They lament the fact that the show is no longer streaming anywhere because it is a show that transcended politics in a very unique way that we sure could use these days. They also talk about the strength of Mike Judge's writing and finding humor in the nuances of everyday life. But don't panic, the discussion doesn't get too classy. They also talk about pooping and socks. The gang breaks down their favorite characters and points out that everybody knows a Dale Gribble and a Bill Dauterive in their life. Plus: Joe does a haunting impression of Hank Hill! Karnock meets Lootaclaus! And you find out that Connor has a dark past with Yu-Gi-Oh! cards! Crack open a beer, stand in your favorite residential alleyway and enjoy! (Also, check out the Mean Boys Podcast on whatever platform you are using to listen to this podcast.)
