We had the pleasure of meeting our next guest, Deavon Smith-Collins, in her cozy home in North Little Rock. Growing up, it was just her and her mom, and her grandparents in a small town in Arkansas. As her mom worked hard to provide for her, they moved around quite a bit, and Deavon attended Christian schools in Little Rock and Fayetteville. While she learned a lot in these schools, she also realized there was a lot that needed to be unlearned, and she strives to be the kind of adult that she wished she had in her life growing up. Some of her biggest heroes were teachers, and now she finds herself in the same profession as an art teacher in a local school for the last few years.During our conversation, Deavon opened up about her experience of being sexually assaulted in college. She shared that she only recently began to unpack and come to grips with the impact it had on her and her family. It has been a difficult journey, but she hopes that by coming out and sharing her story, she can inspire others to have the courage to speak out as well. It's an interesting time in Deavon's life, as she and her mom are facing new challenges. Her mother is returning home to take care of her grandmother, who is suffering from Alzheimer's, and Deavon is leaving Little Rock soon to follow her heart and chase love.Deavon also shared that the hardest part of her journey has been saying goodbye to her fourth-grade students, who welcomed her as their art teacher since kindergarten. Saying goodbye to them was the most painful part of her journey so far. As we dig into our conversation Cam details his past time growing up in Radcliff and hearing Troy and the County Boy Entertainment crew make music and picking up the pen and pad at an early age to make music.   We talk school, from getting kicked out and having to attend a new middle school, later attending John Hardin High School where he played basketballl, formed his crew The Goodfellz Click and started making music. Later we talk about how Cam and his team met producer Texx who gave them a beat for the song that later became a big hit. Once this took flame Cam Dollaz and Young Sweet would sign on to do business with Texx's label Bread Boy Entertainment. During this time Cam would do a deal with Mia Ann and Rhythm Liquor. We're back! Deavon and I go right into discussing our recent life changes that led to us being off the air and how they led us to recording yet again.  We dive into the idea that our transition out of the military was almost a decade ago at this point and looking back it seems less of a challenge than our more recent ones. The conversation is pretty freeform, but should be enjoyable!

A little late in sharing this story, but I'm happy I got to tell it.  I got to serve next to amazing Americans who all on their own volition drove and flew down to Texas to help in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.  I'm truly honored that I got to join the teams from Mountain Primal Meat Co. and Merging Vets with Players in bringing aid to the Beaumont, TX area. Deavon runs the interview on this one, and we cover: What led up to my decision to drive down to Texas with no idea where I was going, and how I got somewhere I could be effective. The efforts and victories of the Mountain Primal crew and the team from Merging Vets with Players. The turnout of "regular" Americans coming out of the woodwork to help their neighbors. What I'd do differently if something like this happened again and I wanted to help.
