Book 3. Elax & the White Witch This was fun. I never thought I would be able to go from a horror novel to a drama and then off to a fantasy land. I think in this book I truly grew attached to the characters. It was all about what they were going to do and how they would do it. I liked the small details at the beginning and how the two kids find out about their past at the same time. It was unravelling before me as if a ball of yarn were tossed on the ground and the story came to me quite easily. I had my beginning, middle and end. This was due to the script-writing history I had. So, I always wanted those three parts to be present. I could not start without those elements. The rest of the story sort of filled in itself. I used the map. I was living in Jakarta Indonesia at the time and so I used real places and Google Earth to search out the places I wanted to use. I love ancient history, so I decided to check out megalithic structures and places of interest. The White Witch lives in a place near Bandung and since there are many volcanoes in Indonesia it made sense to put the Fire People on top of one. The amazing thing with this book for me and I believe for my editor Janet as well, was that it took us out of reality. Now of course all books are supposed to do that but this was my first fantasy novel. Not Lord of the Rings. It is not as epic and long as Lord of the Rings. It was never supposed to be. I was always thinking of a movie. The typical three acts and so most of my books will play out as a movie in my head. The interesting part of this book for me was, that I was in a different world. I could picture my characters with the Water People and the Fire People as well as Elax. Elax is my first ever wizard character and I loved him. I could picture him with the kids and teaching them magic while at the same time being very powerful. Overall, I felt that this book took me to places that I never thought I could go. The back of the book. Budi and Putri's life takes a wild and crazy turn on their 10th birthday. They find out that they are not just friends but in fact, twins. For their birthday they receive two identical wooden boxes filled with mysterious trinkets. While they try to figure out what's happening, they get swept down the river to a strange new magical world. During their exploration, they meet a wise old wizard named Elax who informs them that they are not here by accident. When Budi and Putri learn that they must unite the Water People and the Fire People to defeat the White Witch they cannot believe that this is a task that they can take on. With Elax's help, they learn magic and set out on a journey to save their world. The magical world tests Putri and Budi mentally and physically as they learn more about their past. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/zsolt-zsemba/message

Part 14 When Covid hit, I was working from home. When the commute was cut down and we all went to Zoom meetings it gave me more time. I was able to focus even more on writing. This was a blessing in disguise. Though I would rather that Covid didn't happen it sure gave me a boost to start writing even more. Working at home became a great way to intensify my writing. I was able to focus more. No need to worry about going to the office. Put on your shorts and T-shirt and head to the laptop. The days began earlier than usual since all I had to do was go to the laptop and start. My routine was simple. Up at about 6 am. Eat breakfast, get ready and talk to family and friends, answer some emails and off I went. (This was the benefit of living in different time zones.) I had a local radio station, Female FM that I always had on since my beloved 97.3 Toronto station stopped transmitting to Indonesia one day. I am sure that my drive and obsession had some positive effects on my writing. I was showing up to work, it was my work and my passion to write. My storytelling was well on the way by 7:30 to 8:00 and this was my most productive time. I am always on my game between 7 to about 12. Those few hours are much like a sprint and after lunch is more of a jog. By the time my afternoon coffee rolls around at 2 pm, I was walking and I would usually stroll to the finish line by 3 pm. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09CGCZK4R/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i9 After that, I usually look over what I had managed to pound out on the keyboard and touch up things. However, if I felt good, I would stay and write until 5 to 6 pm. On days like those, I felt as if I was hit by a truck. I would be sore; my muscles would ache and need some severe stretching. After all this, I realized that getting the thoughts out of my head during the process was important. It allowed me to feel as if I had accomplished something. Organ House, Scars and Elax and the White Witch was a huge accomplishment. But what would come next would be terrifying... #writing #blogger #author #poetry #love #quotes #poetrycommunity #writersofinstagram #poem #writer #poet #life #instagram #lovequotes #poetsofinstagram #quoteoftheday #poems #quote #thoughts #writing #shayari #follow #inspirationalquotes #quotestagram #instagood #motivation #like #writersofig #loveyourself #poetrylovers #script --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/zsolt-zsemba/message
Part 13 I was a single dad for about 10 years by this time. I had plenty of experience with kids, it made sense to write about kids. One thing we need to love and understand about kids is that they are a blank slate. Their imagination is young and wild, they know no boundaries. When I decided to write Elax and the White Witch. I had 2 kids in mind along with a wizard. This was not new. But then again this was not about being new, it was about my imagination creating something with the characters. This was another challenge I made for myself. Let's do a fantasy story and see what happens. Elax and the White Witch was about letting my imagination roam. After writing Scars, a drama and jumping into a fantasy book felt weird. Mostly because I was not a writer. I was far from being a writer. I was at most a storyteller and never having published anything, I couldn't think of myself as a writer. Yet here I was writing and pounding on my keyboard. The spite I felt on Scars was gone. I made my point and I proved that I could write. This was more of a personal challenge. What made this easier was, living in Jakarta Indonesia. I had a helper/maid... That means, no laundry, no cooking and no cleaning for me. My meals were ready at about 6, 12 and 6. Coffee came at 6, 9 and 2. I am quite regimented and this helps break up a long day of keyboard pounding and also helps my brain a little. Short pauses and timeouts give my brain a little rest and also help with stamina. This was a luxury I rather enjoyed in everyday life, not just when I was writing. As I wrote about this in Changes, life in Indonesia was very different. Not having to cook and clean was a definite bonus. Living alone also helped. When Covid hit, I thought I would have problems, but instead... #writing #blogger #author #poetry #love #quotes #poetrycommunity #writersofinstagram #poem #writer #poet #life #instagram #lovequotes #poetsofinstagram #quoteoftheday #poems #quote #thoughts #writing #shayari #follow #inspirationalquotes #quotestagram #instagood #motivation #like #writersofig #loveyourself #poetrylovers #script --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/zsolt-zsemba/message
We have reached the 18th and last episode for this season to welcome summer which symbolizes a lot to each one of us. All of us more or less when we are nearby a beach or at least near to the sea environment we feel an inner call, the memory of the water. The memory that we come from water, and the memory of both mind and body cleansing we feel when we dive in. Either consciously or unconsciously. The salt by itself is an element that has the property to absorb and that's why it is starring in many cleansing techniques. It is not random that by the time we are on the beach we feel relaxed. The smell of the sea, the sound of the waves, the sky colors, all contribute to return our focus on the here and now. How many times you have stayed still without saying a word while you are on the beach and enjoy the moment! Trust your inner call and the healing energy of the ocean to relax, and during this meditation let your imagination lead you to discover something unique in the underwater kingdom. Find a quiet place, close your cell phone or any distraction and dedicate these minutes to yourself. If you are driving or doing something that needs your attention, please download it and listen to it when it's time to relax. If you are pregnant and feel some discomfort, you can save this meditation and practice it after giving birth. Enjoy! Written by Nikoleta Kounenidaki, Chryssa Kourenta. Back in the day when ROH was young, it wasn't exactly...politically correct...to say the least. It felt like a product of its time, spawned in the wake of ECW and the Attitude Era, but with much better wrestling than what was available on our TVs....right?? Well, join Jeff & Shane as they travel back to 2002 and revisit "A Night of Appreciation" so as to see if it truly is a case of "better in our memories"! It's Eddy Guerrero's farewell to ROH as the WWE Intercontinental Champion, it's Danielson vs. Spanky, Spanky vs. Michael Shane, Low Ki vs. AJ Styles, and that's just the sexy stuff.
