At the time I was working for a Fortune 10 company providing pre-sales technical support to our (thousands) of sales people around the globe, and one of my team's responsibilities was producing a bi-monthly newsletter. This was not the typical little 2-3 page newsletter: each issue was between 36-56 pages. Writing and co-editing articles for this newsletter quickly became my favorite part of the job, and everything else quickly started to feel like an interruption of my writing. Each issue was distributed to approximately 5,000 people, and it was consistently recognized and awarded for its excellence.Once the writing bug was unleashed, I wanted to write a full-length novel and finally accomplished that goal in 2008 when I wrote and published 'Let the Truth Be Told', a political-action thriller that readers compared to David Baldacci, Robert Ludlum, Brad Thor, and Tom Clancy. I was very happy with the reviews and resultant sales, not to mention the learning opportunities as I made my first foray into the book world.I currently reside in Williamsburg, VA and I'm a member of James River Writers (Richmond, VA) and actively participate in their workshops and learning activities to improve my writing and industry knowledge. I continue to pursue my writing and am passionate about creating more stories and characters, and I'm currently working on the outlines for two new manuscripts. The first book in my new ‘Jessica Jansen Thriller' series, ‘The Murder Game', was released in December, 2022 and became a hit! The second book in the series, ‘Glitz. Glamour. Murder.' was released in the fall of 2023, and that was followed by ‘Blood & Vengeance' in September, 2024. My latest release, ‘Divine Deception - Blind Faith. False Hope' will be released on Tuesday, November 18th, 2025 for hardback & paperback; Kindle & KU versions hit the market on Tuesday, October 21st. He was, according to British journalist Anthony Lane, "hailed as one of the best crime writers in the land." Mostly working in the genres of westerns and crime, more than 30 of his stories were adapted to the screen over the course of a writing career spanning 60 years.He wrote Get Shorty, Freaky Deaky, and Glitz. The series Justified was inspired by his book, Fire in the Hole. He had a few rule of writing, and one was, leave the boring parts out. He passed away in 2013 at the age of 87. What do theme parties, abortion rights, and feminist rebellion have in common? Historian Jennifer Wright unearths women who, in their own subtle and not so subtle ways, defied the patriarchy, mocking original incel Anthony Comstock whose 19th-century repressive tactics are being used today in the far-right's war on women.  In her dazzlingly researched books about Gilded Age legends like Mamie Fish, a character on the HBO series The Gilded Age, and innovative abortionist Madame Restell, Wright shows us that women have always found ways to wield power, even in times of deep inequality and political repression. Whether through eccentric parties or underground abortion networks, these women worked with what they had, where they were, and often did it with excitement.  Mamie Fish, for instance, bent society to her will through legendary parties, supporting seamstresses on strike, and introducing actresses and artists into elite circles. Her antics, from dog banquets to a monkey posing as a prince, weren't just performance; they were power.  And then there's Madame Restell: the go-to abortionist of 19th-century New York who never lost a patient and defied the patriarchy until the very end, possibly faking her own death to escape persecution.
