Join host Martin Hewlett for a gentle, transformative session dedicated to shifting your perspective from lack to abundance. In this episode of Calming Anxiety, we explore the concept that our mindset is like a pair of glasses—sometimes we just need to wipe away the smudge of stress to see the world clearly again.Whether you are struggling with low mood or simply looking to build a resilient morning gratitude routine, this guided meditation will help you "clean the lens." Together, we will use mindful breathing to clear the mental fog and powerful positive affirmations to rewire the subconscious mind for peace. In this episode, we cover:Breathwork for Clarity: Using the breath to blow away the "grey dust" of the day and draw in mental clarity. The Lens of Gratitude: How to gently shift your focus to notice the small miracles in everyday moments.Nervous System Regulation: allowing the beauty of the world to soothe your anxiety and bring you instant peace.Martin's Top 3 Tips for a Happier Day: To help you keep this "lens of beauty" clear, try these practical mindfulness hacks today:Look Up: When you walk outside, shift your eyeline to the sky or treetops. Changing your view physically changes your mood.Find One Texture: Ground yourself by touching something real—a wooden table or the bark of a tree—to connect physically with the present moment. The 5-Second Pause: Before you eat or drink, pause for just five seconds to appreciate how good it looks. A tiny moment of gratitude makes a huge difference.Affirmations used in this session:"I choose to see the beauty of the world around me"."I notice the small miracles in everyday moments"."I allow the beauty of this day to bring me peace"."I am grateful for the life that surrounds me".Support the Podcast: If you find value in these sessions, you can join our supporters group for just $5 a month to get all episodes ad-free. This episode is part of a series called Meditation Monday. The teacher, Henry Shukman, has been on my podcast twice before. He is one of only a few dozen masters in the world authorized to teach Sanbo Zen, and now, he'll be your teacher. In addition to my long-form interviews each week, every Monday I'll bring you a short 10-minute or so meditation, which will help you for the rest of the week.Over this four-episode series, you'll develop a Zen toolkit to help you find greater calm, peace, and effectiveness in your daily life.Henry's app, The Way, has changed my life since I first started using it. Unlike other meditation apps, where you're overwhelmed with a thousand choices, The Way is a clear step-by-step training program guided entirely by Henry. Through a logical progression, you'll develop real skills that stick with you.I've been using it daily, often twice a day, and it's lowered my anxiety more than I thought possible. As a listener of my podcast, you can get 30 free sessions by visiting https://thewayapp.com/tim and downloading the app.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Explore how early conditioning shapes your inner voice, and how to return to your wise, authentic self.Do you know whose voice is guiding your decisions? In this Life Lesson, we explore how the Inner Child absorbs the beliefs, expectations, and emotional rules of authority figures — and how those inherited voices can quietly shape our adult lives. Through Taoist wisdom, we learn how to distinguish conditioned thinking from our true inner knowing and wise inner guide, reconnect with our inherent worth, and gently return to authenticity, clarity, and alignment. This is an invitation to stop living by inherited rules and begin trusting the quiet truth within. With your hosts, David James Lees (ordained Taoist monk, emotional and spiritual health teacher) and Alexandra Lees (mindset and business coach).Discover our online consultations, events and shop: https://www.wuweiwisdom.comSubscribe to David's FREE Journal: https://davidjameslees.substack.com/Other related teachings on our YouTube channel that will help you:SHEN (THE SPIRITUAL SELF) PLAYLIST https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9NQ_PWX4zIBmp50wYcmU7jCBLp1Qvl-jShen (The Spiritual Self) Guided Meditation https://youtu.be/BM2CNYvI45Y?si=KLQdxovVFqbxDYNaINNER CHILD PLAYLIST https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9NQ_PWX4zICGLRS1b7q1HSJhZRash5qqIs there a question you'd like answered on the show? Money shame is one of the most pervasive and least discussed blocks to abundance. It is the guilt you feel about wanting more. It is the embarrassment you carry about your financial situation, whether you have too little or too much. It is the judgment you place on yourself for caring about money at all. It is the secret belief that there is something wrong with you for desiring wealth, comfort, security, and freedom. And here is what makes money shame so insidious. It hides. It disguises itself as humility. It masquerades as spirituality. It pretends to be virtue. You might think you are being a good person by not caring about money, by feeling guilty when you have more than others, by downplaying your desires for abundance. But what you are actually doing is blocking the flow. You are telling the universe that you are not worthy of receiving. You are creating a ceiling on what is possible for you. Today I am going to help you understand where this shame comes from, how it operates in your life, and most importantly, how to release it. In the second half of this episode, I will guide you through a powerful meditation to actually clear this shame from your body, from your energy field, from your subconscious programming. This is not just information. This is transformation.

Stop a panic attack or social anxiety instantly without anyone noticing. In this "Pocket Podcast," former paramedic Martin Hewlett teaches you the 3-6-9 Stealth Method—a physiological breathing hack designed for invisible, quiet control.Whether you are in a crowded room, a stressful meeting, or at a dinner, that rising wave of heat and racing heart can be managed discreetly. By prioritizing a long exhale, you send a biological "all-clear" signal directly to your vagus nerve, switching your brain from "fight or flight" to "rest and digest".+2What you will learn in 3 minutes:The Stealth Benefit: How to shut down panic without anyone in the room knowing you're doing it.The 3-6-9 Technique: A specific breathing rhythm (In for 3, Hold for 6, Out for 9) that tricks your nervous system into calming down.Biological Reset: Why making your exhale three times longer than your inhale is the fastest way to change your mental channel.Key Takeaways:Keep your eyes open: Use an external anchor like a coffee cup or window to stay present while you breathe.Silent Control: Keep your mouth closed and breathe through your nose to maintain total discretion.Take the Wheel: Learn to be the one in charge of your body's rhythm, even in high-stress social situations.Keep this episode in your "pocket" for the next time you feel the heat of anxiety rising.About Your Host:Martin Hewlett is a clinical hypnotherapist and the creator of the Calming Anxiety Podcast. Drawing on years of experience as a paramedic, he provides practical, science-based tools to help you manage anxiety, panic, and stress in real-time.Be kind to yourself. Smile once.
Send us a textIn this episode, you're guided through a powerful Ancestral Healing Meditation to help you heal your bloodline, reclaim your power, and rise as the one chosen to end cycles of pain in your lineage. This practice is for every woman who feels, deep in her soul, that she is here not by accident, but to complete what those before her could not finish, to transform generational wounds into wisdom, strength, and love. This meditation was recorded live on Zoom during one of my classes, so the audio quality may not be perfect, but the energy and intention are deeply potent. I invite you to stay present with the experience and let it move through your body and spirit. In this session, you will:Ground into your body with conscious breath and a neutral spineArrive on a sacred landscape: white sand, golden mountains, ancient redwood trees, and the endless oceanCall in your mother and father behind you, forming a triangle of supportSee the feminine lineage growing behind your mother and the masculine lineage growing behind your fatherFeel the presence of countless ancestors sitting behind you on both sidesReceive a bowl of golden light from your ancestors, which becomes a crown placed on your headConnect each jewel on your crown with your sacredness: your beauty, belonging, confidence, creativity, wisdom, and historyHear the message:“Wake up, my child. It's time for you to shine in this world. You are the chosen one.”Let the golden light travel through your entire body, then expand it to the trees, mountains, and ocean around youShare a mental message with your ancestors, thank them, and receive their blessingsFind a comfortable seat or lie down, turn your palms up, close your eyes, and let your ancestors sit behind you as you step fully into who you came here to be.You are the chosen one.
Gary and Shannon close out the show with What’s Happening, running through the day’s biggest and strangest headlines before Michael and Shannon reflect on Michael’s final day filling in as the so-called responsible adult in the room. The conversation drifts into stories about missing three legged pets, rescuing cats, and the realities of pet ownership. The hour also includes a #TrueCrimeTuesday discussion centered on the Netflix documentary Evil Influencer, an update from Gary’s Giants fantasy camp, and a standout moment as Board Wizard Elmer debuts his new guided meditation project with a live sample on air.
