In this episode of the podcast, the crew revisits the legacy of ECW, focusing on the 1998 event 'ECW Wrestlepalooza'. They discuss the opening matches, the significance of various wrestlers, and the dynamics of tag teams. The conversation also touches on the impact of legends like JYD and Shane Douglas, as well as the overall atmosphere of ECW during its prime. In this episode, the hosts delve into the legacy of Shane Douglas and his impact on wrestling, particularly in ECW. They discuss the missed opportunities in his rivalry with Ric Flair and the overall rise and fall of ECW. The conversation shifts to infamous matches involving New Jack, the chaotic Duds vs Dreamer and Sandman match, and the classic encounter between RVD and Sabu. The episode culminates in Al Snow's send-off match, reflecting on the nostalgia and the overall quality of the wrestling showcased.
Episode 202 brings the chaos as your hosts Diana Prince (The Last Drive-In on Shudder & AMC+), Gringo Fantastico (Fantastico Disasterpiece Theatre on Troma Now), and Johnny Taylor (stand-up comedian, “Bummin' With the Devil” on Tubi) break down a wild AEW Dynamite from Philly. We've got Hangman beating Josh Alexander and setting up a World Title match with Kyle Fletcher, MJF's unhinged vows against Mark Briscoe, Riho's momentum, FTR starting fights with fans, and Ricochet vs. Shelton Benjamin in an ECW-flavored clash. Then the Philly Street Fight with Toni Storm vs. Skye Blue delivered staples, mouse traps, bug zappers, and cheese, before the night closed with Daniel Garcia shocking the world by joining the Death Riders and stomping Darby Allin's face into a chair. All that plus our Hero, Dick, and Match of the Week — only on AEW-some Pod Episode 202.
We had ECW One Night Stand from WWE in 2005, and then WWE did it again in 2006, followed by the blah revival of ECW, so when most of the OG ECW roster jumps from WWE to TNA by 2010, what happens? Dixie Carter decides she'll have her own One Night Stand! WITH BLACKJACK! AND HOOKERS! Greg and Dane look at TNA Hardcore Justice 2010, where they go over dance-offs with the Full Blooded Italians, Raven and Tommy Dreamer having the most cringe hardcore match ever, a lightsaber fight and RVD facing Sabu in the Main Event! Be sure to thank Dixie for this episode everybody, because this wouldn't be possible without her (heavy sarcasm).

#aew #tonykhan #aewallout WWE is countering AEW's ALL OUT 2025 with their own event — Wrestlepalooza, a name once made famous in Paul Heyman's ECW during the 90's. Tony Khan was defiant about AEW's timeslot but eventually moved ALL OUT to 3 PM instead of the usual 8 PM start. With AEW known for running nearly five hours of action, will fans be too burned out to watch WWE later that night? Is WWE's counter programming strategy a smart move — or a huge mistake? In this video, we break down WWE's decision, Tony Khan's bold move, and what this means for the never-ending war between AEW and WWE.#wwe #wrestlepalooza #wwevsaew

Welcome back to Wrestling Tonight, your weekly look at everything happening across WWE, AEW, ROH, and beyond. Episode 140 dives into one of the busiest weeks of the year as WWE made its debut in Paris, AEW confirmed a major injury update, and ROH delivered a newsworthy Death Before Dishonor. We begin with a full recap of WWE Clash in Paris. Roman Reigns defeated Bronson Reed, but the aftermath stole the spotlight as Reigns attacked Paul Heyman before being dismantled by Reed and Bron Breakker. Reigns was left strapped to a stretcher, starting the night with one of the most striking visuals WWE has produced all year. The card also saw Rusev forcing Sheamus to submit in a violent Donnybrook, John Cena outlasting Logan Paul in one of his final major singles matches and Seth Rollins retaining the World Heavyweight Championship in a four-way after Becky Lynch interfered against CM Punk. Rollins and Lynch stood tall together to close the show as a heel power couple, setting the stage for a new direction in WWE's main event scene. From there, we look at AEW. Swerve Strickland underwent knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus, leaving his status uncertain for the rest of 2025. The news arrives as reports suggest AEW pay-per-views may soon be available on HBO Max, a potential move that would reshape the company's distribution model and give fans broader access to its biggest shows. In Lyon, Sami Zayn gave the French crowd a memorable moment by defeating Solo Sikoa to win the United States Championship for the first time. With Jacob Fatu's return evening the odds, Zayn finally captured singles gold again and celebrated one of the defining victories of his career in front of an electric audience. We close with ROH Death Before Dishonor. Despite streaming issues that led to the event being made free on YouTube, the show delivered significant results. Shane Taylor Promotions captured the Six-Man Tag Titles after Sammy Guevara turned on The Von Erichs to join LFI. Bandido retained the World Championship in his return, Athena and Lee Moriarty each extended their reigns, and Paul Walter Hauser made an in-ring appearance that paid tribute to his wrestling influences. Episode 140 captures a week where every major promotion made headlines: WWE left Paris with shifting alliances and new storylines, AEW balanced injury news with potential streaming expansion, Sami Zayn delivered a career milestone in Lyon, and ROH overcame technical challenges to put forward meaningful outcomes.
