If you were to go ziplining, wouldn't you trust a braided steel cable versus a ragged nylon rope? The stronger the material making up the rope, the more tension it will be able to withstand. And just like that zipline, you need the strongest materials, in order to get through the challenges of life. Pastor Jeff encourages you today to recognize God as the ultimate source of strength for your life. If you build your life on His principles, you won't need to worry about what the world puts in your way.
When you're in the Kingdom of God, there is no going back to the way things used to be! You can't just turn back the clock and go back into a life of sin. Pastor Jeff reminds you today that just like the Israelites were taken out of slavery and left Egypt behind, Elisha left his former life behind when he chose to follow Elijah. His old line of work was left in the dust because Elisha had chosen to pursue the things of God. What is the Lord asking you to leave behind, to pursue His will for your life?
2Kings 6:8-23 In today’s thrilling episode, we follow the prophet Elisha as he delivers important messages from God that protect Israel. Despite facing a vast enemy army, Elisha places his faith in God, and shows us there are things we don’t always see. Elisha’s servant’s eyes are opened and he’s amazed to see that all around him are horses and chariots of fire! A heavenly army standing guard! Thanks to today's awesome guest, Ryan Coatney! Check out the wonderful resources he has created at Cross Formed Kids to help as you disciple your family. ---------------------------- To enjoy the library of bonus content (coloring pages, sheets, memory verse, etc) for the episodes go here and click bonus content. 2 Kings 5:19-27 & 1 Timothy 6:10 Today, we continue our Elisha series with a story full of surprises, sneaky plans, and an important lesson! Last time, we saw how God healed Naaman’s skin, and he was so thankful that he wanted to give Elisha a big reward. But Elisha didn’t take anything. However, someone else had different plans! Gehazi’s greed led to big consequences, and he learned the hard way that honesty, obedience, and contentment are far more valuable than gold and silver. Join us as we learn why loving money too much can lead us away from God, and how we can always trust Him to provide for our needs! 2 Kings 5: 8-15 In today’s episode, we continue our Elisha series with the story of Naaman, the mighty army commander who had a big problem—he had leprosy! He expected a grand, powerful miracle when he went to Elisha for healing, but what he got was something much simpler... and it wasn’t what he expected at all! Join us as we explore how God’s healing works in unexpected ways, why Naaman almost missed his miracle, and how trusting God—even in the small, ordinary steps—leads to something greater ------------------------------------------------ ❤️Special February 2025 Offer: Give One, Get One!For this month only, when you purchase a 1 year Patreon membership, you’ll get to gift a membership of equal value for FREE!
We need to come to a place in our life where like Elisha, we ask for a double portion of the spirit. We fully surrender our lives and ask God to do something by the work of His Holy Spirit. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/1170/29
Elisha wanted more. He prayed for a double portion of the spirit. I am convinced that the reason he did miracles, counseled kings, spoke the word of God and the reason he was used by God in his generation was because he asked for a double portion of God's spirit. 2 Kings 5:1-8 Welcome back to our Elisha Series! Today, we begin one of my favorite Bible stories—the story of Naaman, a mighty warrior with a big problem: leprosy. But help comes from an unexpected person—a young servant girl with great faith in God! Even though she was far from home, she trusted that God could heal Naaman through the prophet Elisha. Join us as we explore how God can use anyone, no matter how young, to share His truth and help others!
2 Kings 4:38-41 We continue our Elisha series as we dive into the scripture about the “Bad Stew.” During a famine in Gilgal, Elisha shows how God can take even the scariest situations and turn them into miracles. When poisonous gourds accidentally get added to a pot of stew for the prophets, God uses Elisha to fix the problem. This story reminds us of God’s power to care for us and teaches the importance of trusting Him, using wisdom, and seeking guidance when we face problems. I also address that God gives us wisdom to make smart choices, and when kids are unsure, they should talk to their parents for guidance.

2 Kings 4:18-37 & John 9:1-3 In today’s episode, we continue our exciting Elisha series with the incredible story of how God used Elisha to bring a boy back to life! We’ll pick up where we left off: the boy grew up strong and healthy, but one day, tragedy struck. What followed was a journey of faith, hope, and an unforgettable miracle. We discuss what to do when we pray for a miracle and it doesn't happen how we hoped it would. This woman and her son's story ended up beautifully but there were many that same day who lost loved ones too. I also use John 9 to discuss some of the lies kids may hear about the why behind sad events. Tune in to hear how God displayed His power and love through Elisha and what it means for us today. ------------------------- To enjoy the library of bonus content (coloring pages, sheets, memory verse, etc) for the episodes go here and click bonus content. 2 Kings 4: 8-37, Romans 5: 3-5, & Romans 15:13 In today’s episode, we continue our journey through the incredible story of the prophet Elisha. We visit a town called Shunem, where Elisha meets a kind and wealthy woman. Despite not knowing her name, the Bible highlights her as the Shunammite woman, and her story teaches us about being hopeful even when it can feel scary, kindness, and God’s power to make the impossible possible. Join us as we discover how this generous woman showed hospitality to Elisha and how God blessed her in a miraculous way! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To enjoy the library of bonus content (coloring pages, sheets, memory verse, etc) for the episodes go here and click bonus content. 2 Kings 4: 1-7 In today’s episode, we continue our series on Elisha with a story about a widow, her two sons, and how God miraculously provided for them when they had nothing left. We’ll learn about the importance of trusting God in both big and small moments and how He cares for each of us personally. Parents, we kicked off this Elisha series just before Christmas with episode 351. If you missed it or need a quick refresher, be sure to check out Elisha: Parts 1-3, #351-353. This message continues our study on Elisha. Here the King of Israel decides to cut off his head because the curses of Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28 are being visited on God's people: People were eating their own children. This happened at least four times in the history of Israel, in 852, 722, and 586 BC, and in AD 70.
The story of Elijah and Elisha has everything to do with the passing of the mantle. Elijah wasn't yet finished with his ministry, but the time had come to commission his successor. Pastor Jeff says today that when God tells you it's time to begin passing on the work you have been doing for the Kingdom, that doesn't mean you're no longer useful or needed. What it does mean is that you have the opportunity to raise someone up, and help them do greater things than you could have on your own.
There's a saying that goes, “History doesn't repeat itself, but it rhymes”. What the speaker usually means is that there are patterns of human behavior that repeat across centuries, even in different historical contexts. Pastor Jeff teaches you today that the life of the prophet Elisha rhymed with Christ, who was yet to come to Earth. God uses patterns in the Bible to give His people a preview of the future. If you know how these patterns show themselves, you will recognize them as they happen later on.
2 Kings 3:20-25 Today's episode continues our journey with Elisha and the three kings. When the Israelites were in need, God performed an amazing miracle—filling the land with water, even though there was no rain! The Moabites, the enemies of Israel, thought the water was blood and believed the armies had fought each other. They charged in, only to find the Israelites ready to fight! We are reminded of God's power and ability to work in such mysterious ways. We use a relatable example for kids to show them that God is always with them, actively working in their lives, even in ways they might not see right away. 2 Kings 3:1-11 In this exciting new series, we dive into the life of Elisha, the prophet who followed Elijah. After receiving a double portion of Elijah's spirit, Elisha was empowered by God to perform twice as many miracles as his teacher! Today, we join Elisha at the beginning of his journey when three kings—Jehoram of Israel, Jehoshaphat of Judah, and the king of Edom—team up to fight the king of Moab. Their journey, however, quickly goes wrong as they find themselves lost and without water in the wilderness. In desperation, King Jehoshaphat suggests seeking guidance from a prophet. Most decisions in life are reversible. Take choosing a college, for example. If you don't like it after a semester or two, you can always transfer! And the same goes for your major, your career, and where you choose to live.
