Often, as men, we are blind to what God is up to behind the scenes. We can be so practical and results-oriented that we miss the fact that God is active in ways we can't perceive or measure.Leigh Gerstenberger is always on mission. However, like most men, he doesn't always realize it. "Business-stry" is his word to describe what happens when we, as Christians, engage in our normal business (whatever that might be) and all the while God has had another agenda that we're unaware of. A western Pennsylvania native, Leigh Gerstenberger is the founding member of Strategic-Connecting, LLC, a consulting firm dedicated to “inspiring intriguing ideas” that help individuals and organizations exceed their career, financial and personal potential.Prior to founding his own firm, Leigh spent his entire career in the financial services industry holding senior leadership positions at PNC Bank, Huntington Bank, Mutual of New York, and Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company. Leigh serves on the boards of: Chris Led Communities (CLC); northeast Ohio based EMERGE Counseling Services, a 40-year old faith-based mental health organization; and SummaCare, the for-profit insurance subsidiary of the Akron, OH SummaHealth System.SHOW NOTES:Strategic-Connecting.com/Leigh's LinkedIn Profile: linkedin.com/in/leighgerstenbergerLeigh's Email Address: hlg123@gmail.comChris Bolinger's NEW BOOK: 52 Weeks of Strength for Men (https://www.amazon.com/Weeks-Strength-Men-Chris-Bolinger/dp/1633573982/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_w=WA7tY&pf_rd_p=91202c6f-1c11-4e3d-b51a-3af958cedd30&pf_rd_r=7QBR9WXFYRG0GNHVFM8G&pd_rd_r=16d15386-4a7f-4121-be45-ceae4ebda3e2&pd_rd_wg=N6raa&ref_=aufs_ap_sc_dsk)MensDevotionals.comContact Chris Bolinger: https://chrisbolinger.com/author/CLC Website: https://www.clchq.org/Contact Mike Hatch: mhatch@clchq.orgMen's Devotional: "Daily Strength for Men" (https://www.amazon.com/Daily-Strength-Men-365-Day-Devotional-ebook/dp/B07N9P7DRD)

For most people, the Christmas holiday is a wonderful time of the year. Families come together to celebrate Christ’s birth and exchange gifts. Churches welcome one and all to worship Christ, the real Reason for the season. The words “Merry Christmas!” and “Happy Holidays!” seem to be on everyone’s lips. Not everyone is having a good time, though. It’s a myth that suicides increase at Christmastime. But it’s a very real fact that some people are sad and lonely during this season. As Christian leaders, how do we help the hurting during the holidays? That’s the question I’m talking about with Dr. Don Lichi in Episode 162 of the Influence Podcast. Dr. Lichi is a licensed psychologist and interim president of Emerge Counseling Services in Akron, Ohio.
