Tilman's origins lie in Hip Hop, but since his beginnings he has traversed through the eclectic sounds of house, disco, funk, and soul. He has a passion for implementing synths, drum machines, and samples within his music that has been released both on his own imprints and on the likes of Faces Records, Tenderpark, and Quality Vibe. He recently injected deep house euphoria into Ridney's ‘Constantly' with his remix on Future Disco. This time we hear from Detroit producer and multi-instrumentalist Jason Hogans AKA :brownstudy. Jason's debut on Carl Craig's Planet E in 1998 (after an introduction from Recloose) helped pave a new direction for the seminal label. Since then, he has built a vast discography of creative excursions into electronic music for Mahogani Music, Moods & Grooves Records, FACES Records, and his own Really Nice Recordings. New Music Worldwide is a weekly mix series hosted by Thris Tian. This week’s New Music Worldwide comes from S3A. The Parisian producer, DJ and label owner creates soulful, sample-led house music. He runs his own label, Sampling As An Art Records and he has released EPs with Uncanny Valley, Faces Records, Local Talk and Concrete Music. On top of his busy release schedule, he is establishing himself as a DJ, holding down a residency at Concrete, one of Paris’ best clubs for house and techno.
