Tracklist on https://slothboogie.com/ Bristol-based producer Sean McCabe has amassed an impressive discography, delivering inspired releases and reworks for the likes of Local Talk, Z Records, Strictly Rhythm, Room Control, Tribe, Quantize and his own label Good Vibrations Music. Releasing his first tracks in 2003, he has fine-tuned a trademark sound that is effortlessly soulful and definitely house. A quick listen to any of his productions or DJ sets will confirm this emotion-rich aesthetic. Constantly learning and evolving, taking his sound in different directions, McCabe admits to a love of vintage synthesizers – picked up from listening to classic New York boogie and ‘80s soul. "I always like to play a mix of styles in a set to keep it interesting and represent the different styles that I like. I selected about 50 tracks that I felt like playing, to give me options, some recently released and some forthcoming. I made up the structure as I went along based on how I felt in the moment. It starts with a blend of soulful songs and funky/jazzy grooves, then delves into deeper driving tracks to build some anticipation, like a crescendo of some sort, then relieve the tension with music that has a resolving feel to it and end with some broken beat and jazzy ear candy. I think this is typical of how I try to programme my mixes. Like a very long chord progression or song structure; set mood, build tension, resolve, home, then repeat. I also like to make sure I don't play too many vocals or dubs/instrumentals in a row. So I try to keep it varied in that respect too." - https://soundcloud.com/seanmccabe

As a DJ, ManooZ takes his vinyl sets to clubs, maintaining his ever-current knowledge of what is working on the dancefloors. "In this mix, I wanted to spin those records that have inspired me the most in the past months and years - as a DJ plus as a producer. I wanted to create a blend of late 80s Chicago House traxx, the early 90's era of Nu Groove Records and those mid 90s vibes from New York over to Italy. I feel it goes from a darker moodier vibe into a powerful dance-driven vibe. Coflo brings a true dancer's touch to house music. As a life long student of the American style of house dance and the Afro-Brazilian martial art Capoeira; Coflo looks to infuse his dance and movement experience into his musical productions. A true house head; he hopes to honor the beautiful culture and community that raised him in his home of the Bay Area in California, USA. In 2018 Coflo joined the American house music beacon Ocha Records as head of A&R and Label Manager for artist and owner Carlos “Casamena” Mena. It was at this time Coflo also began releasing as a staple artist on the Ocha talent roster. Originals and remixes spread quickly through DJs and collectors internationally with his breakout single “Stress Relief (Don't fuck with me right now)” remixed by house music legend Osunlade. Coflo's musical ideas caught the ears of Osunlade; bringing him to Yoruba Records initially as a remix artist and mastering engineer. In 2021, Coflo joined the official artist ranks on Yoruba Records with his debut collaboration “Soul 2 Souls” with SACRED H3ART. 2022 for Coflo was all about "Peanut Butter Lover," a track that stuck in clubs like, you guessed it, peanut butter! It's Coflo's signature: fun and honest in club music with an irresistible groove, earning love from DJ legends like Anané, Osunlade, and Louie Vega.Coflo's 2023 has been epic, remixing Ron Trent's "Black Magic Woman" for the fresh label "Sacred Medicine” crafted by the American house music pioneers Joe Claussell and Ron Trent. With a decade of hits across famous labels like T's Box, Local Talk and Atjazz Record Company, he's not just a studio wizard; he's a DJ booth hero, known for his energetic beats and eclectic style. Coflo hopes to continue to bring a unique view from a dancer's perspective to house music. Focusing on crafting something new and evolving with each passing release. Show Time, enjoy this week's episode hosted by Spanish DJ & Producer KIKO NAVARRO. Carving out an enviable reputation across the globe for his distinctive and highly personal brand of House music, Kiko Navarro's voyage of sonic discovery has been going strong for almost three decades now. Born in Mallorca, Kiko's sound reflects the sun-drenched, slow living atmosphere of the Balearic island he still calls home. Obsessed from an early age with the more soulful side of US House music, Navarro's DJ skills soon attracted the attention of nightlife behemoth Pacha who offered him club residencies both in Palma and in Ibiza. Next came a monthly gig at Space Ibiza and the rest, as they say, is history. Despite having been DJing for more than a quarter of a century, Kiko Navarro is constantly growing and developing his style; it's an approach that keeps him in constant demand at some of the most prestigious nightclubs on the planet. From London to the Far East, Kiko has travelled the far and wide with his music, embracing sounds from each continent as he goes. Equally at home on festival stages at Southport Weekender and Southern Soul Festival or in some dark, underground sweat-box, Kiko's passion is palpable; his music selection is impeccable. Inspired by his experiences as a DJ, Kiko Navarro brought a multitude of influences into the studio as he began to master the art of production. Underpinned by his obvious devotion to House music, Kiko's love of afro-latin sounds has been evident in his feel-good, dance-floor oriented productions since the very beginning. His connection to Pacha led to several releases on the label as well as a mixed compilation ‘The Latin Sound Of Pacha' which was issued on Tommy Boy records in 2001. Working with many of the world's most respected imprints such as Local Talk, King Street Sounds and Osunlade's Yoruba Records attracted an impressive list of top flight DJs to Kiko's music, ranging all the way from Gilles Peterson on one end of the musical spectrum to Jeff Mills on the other. Following several busy years spent touring the world as the official DJ for the Ducati Marlboro Moto GP Team, Kiko locked himself away in the studio, emerging in 2017 with a new solo album: ‘Everything Happens For A Reason'. Released on BBE Records, a label renowned for quality music of all shades, the album is gaining plaudits from across the musical community thanks to its warmth, originality and soul. Ten years on from his debut LP ‘Perceptions', Kiko revisited its biggest hit ‘Soñando Contigo', creating a brand new ‘Orchestral' version for 2017 and in the process paying homage to the track that made him famous. Featuring special guest appearances from DJ Spen, Concha Buika, Boris Dlugosch and Julie McKnight, ‘Everything Happens For A Reason' displays each shade of Kiko's musical palette in vivid Technicolor. A true Renaissance Man; now also a family man, today's Kiko Navarro is perhaps even more focused and dedicated to his life in music than ever before. An album tour this year will see him play DJ sets in Italy, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Greece, Japan, South Korea, China with many more to be confirmed. Whether in the studio crafting records or in the club controlling the dance-floor, Kiko's musical mission has become the habit of a lifetime. Enjoy this Afro House special journey with the one & only KIKO NAVARRO live from Tel Aviv! N/A This show is syndicated & distributed exclusively by Syndicast. Over the years he has released music on the likes of Highlife, Local Talk, Dekmantel, Bronswood, Endless Flight and many more – his sound evolving based upon his external influences and discoveries of late. Based in London, he is incredibly well travelled and has worked alongside a number of musicians and bands, seeking to broaden his musical horizons and draw upon the roots of the sound and cultures which have informed his tastes. As a DJ Esa is well versed, honing his craft on dancefloors in Glasgow where he held his first residency at the infamous Subculture. It is here that this mixtape was recorded, his return to the party earlier this year was a triumphant tour de force showcasing just how far Esa has come as an artist. This mixtape spans a wide variety of styles and sounds but most importantly is destined to keep you moving and dancing throughout. Sometimes live sets don't make much sense out of context, yet in this case there is something special captured in the sound which makes you feel like you are right down the front banging that old Sub Club booth.

We played our first club set under our Attic @atticsydney guise for a little over two years! (Hey, a pandemic might just do that.) For the occasion, we partnered with the fine folk at No Place Like House @noplacelikehouseaus, welcoming seasoned French house stalwart, Art of Tones @llorca, as part of his very first Australian tour. A great booking and an even better bloke! (And, geez, we'd missed the Civic Underground—our home away from home since Attic's inception.) We opened the evening and were gifted a deliciously lengthy two-and-a-half set to get things underway. We kicked off with our signature warm-up fodder and built things up on the housey tip as the room began filling up and feet started moving en masse! Within you'll hear originals, remixes and releases from a selection of our favourites, including Junktion @junktionmusic, Local Talk @localtalk, Tropical Disco Records @tropicaldiscorecords, I Gemin @i-gemin, SlothBoogie @slothboogie, Jehan @jehaan, Sondrio @sondrio, Hotmood @hotmood, Sune @emilsunesson, Scruscru @scruscru, Never Dull @neverdullmusic, Dam Swindle @damswindle, Ed Wizard @dave-allison, Dan Kye @dankyemusic, Felipe Gordon @felipe-gordon, Kevin Over @kevin-over, Demuir @djdemuir and Tilman @tilman—to name just a few! We hope you dig this one! We've had another taste and you can bet that there is plenty more to come in the near future! ;)

Show Time, enjoy this week's episode hosted by Spanish DJ & producer duo, KYODAI. Kyodai means "brothers" in Japanese and that's a good clue for guessing who's behind these two heads, the producers are known under a variety of different names! They started at the end of the 90's their main project called WAGON COOKIN' alongside with their own record label APPETIZERS and the duo gained respect from musical heavyweights like Lauren Garnier, Masters At Work, Jimpster, Gilles Peterson, Rainer Trüby, and they regularly release under a variety of different names for labels such as Compost, Odori, Om, Lovemonk......... Kyodai together with Wagon Cookin have had a strong run of releases since their debut here on Freerange Records Their "Mi Rumba EP" must have impressed a lot of people as they went on to release a follow up EP for Mad Mats blossoming Local Talk label with "Breaking EP", supported by top names, until reaching the top list of the Gilles Peterson's "An All Winners Show", and to be part of the GTA V soundtrack, also have an EP due on Poker Flat called "Never Know". In this episode from the all new season 3 I'm speaking with Chicago born, Rotterdam based DJ producer, Jamie 3:26. I first heard of Jamie through the co-head honcho of Stockholms house label Local Talk, Mad Mats. “One guy to look out for" I was told several years ago. I explored some opportunities at that time for Jamie in Dubai and the region, which didn't come together, however it wasn't until I was working with Barbary, the club party space and bar in Dubai, where I was working at the time, and the team I was working with, brought him over and it was nothing short of a memorable experience. Jamie's energy behind the decks is infectious and matches his personality, humorous, joyful and playful. We spoke about the racial divide today in America, whitewashing in dance music, hypnotherapy, mindfulness and his sobriety journey. It was an honor to sit down together and learn more about Chicago's disco and house music history from Jamie's personal experience and knowledge. Bristol-based producer Sean McCabe released his first tracks in 2003 at the tender age of 17 and has fine-tuned a trademark sound that is effortlessly soulful. Sean made his name in House, working with legendary US garage label King Street Sounds and remixing the likes of Dennis Ferrer, Evelyn Champagne King, Carolyn Harding, Blaze, and Roland Clark. Since then, he’s amassed an impressive discography of over 100 releases for labels like Local Talk, Strictly Rhythm, Vega Records, Tribe, and Quantize – plus an original solo album for Z Records. Sean continued his musical journey by launching his ‘Good Vibrations Music’ label. As a DJ, he forged a reputation at the legendary Southport Weekender, where he performed regularly. Anyone who can impress the notoriously knowledgeable Southport Weekender crowd must be doing something right. Sean has also travelled the world, playing as far afield as Asia and South Africa, as well as regular appearances across Europe and the UK. Refreshingly, he seems to have no particular aspirations to play in gargantuan clubs, and admits to preferring gigs in small, intimate venues, where he can make a connection with the crowd. SUPPORT SLOTHBOOGIE : https://slothboogie.bandcamp.com/ In 1989 Michel Baumann started spinning as a Hip Hop DJ at local jams in the Stuttgart area. In 1991 he became infected with Chicago and Detroit based House music whilst working at a record store. Michel would go on to become the owner of a couple labels himself, namely Philpot-Records and Phil e. He also records under the alias Soulphiction crafting musical outings with a touch more funk to them, which I'm sure you will know well. Back though to his Jackmate alias and he will soon be dropping a tasty new EP on the freshly minted 18437 Records. This new label is focused on the outer fringes of House and Techno and run by none other than Tooli of Local Talk fame. After teasing everyone with his recent 12" for Matthew Herbert's Accidental label, Jackmate is in full swing here. He also does Workshops for production and mixing, online and one on one slots, just send a PM him if interested! A special mention to all of his International Pony remixes too :D Artist: @soulphiction-aka-jackmate

Hello Tallahassee friends!  This is our 1st episode of our 2nd season of Let’s Get Local Tallahassee.  I've missed yall so much during what felt like the longest summer in history.  So much has changed in the world around us... and also with this podcast.  Check out our updated concept, new intro, and fresh new conversations - starting with this episode, #21.During Season 2, we chat with neighbors as we share what we love about our hometown of Tallahassee, Florida.  Along the way, we’ll talk about supporting local, volunteering, and how we’re a little more connected than it might seem.  Meet... The Village Square! In our first episode of the season, we chat with neighbor Liz Joyner as we learn about the local nonprofit she founded 14 years ago and still runs today -- The Village Square.  (And we share an exciting announcement!  Spoiler... Village SquareCast.)  The Village Square is building the townhall of the 21st century across the partisan divide.  They talk about the topics your mother told you never to discuss in polite company – politics, religion, and race.Liz riffs on the inspiration and story behind The Village Square, how they do what they do and why it’s easier than you think to change people’s minds about each other. She also shares why she has hope (and you should too).Listen in to find out more about this "nervy bunch of liberals and conservatives who believe that disagreement and dialogue make for a good conversation, a good country, and a good time."  And then join them. Introducing... Village SquareCast This summer our host, Vanessa Rowse, began working with The Village Square to produce their very own podcast - Village SquareCast.  We air all of Village Square's new programs, plus some of our favorite throwback programs that are surprisingly relevant today.Subscribe to Village SquareCast wherever you get your podcasts for more local content (and very important conversations!).

#ReclaimEDM Podcast 02 features unique soulful deep-house tracks from around the world, mixed live by DJ nomsta. (www.nomsta.net), featuring tracks by Chewy Rubs, Dubble D presents Moodymanc, Johannes Albert, Vincenzo, Bassart, Michael Mayer, Joe Goddard, MANTU, Salif Keita x Megablast, KERINNIS, Anja Schneider, La Fleur, Gezender and L Cio. The mix starts with the tempo of 116 bpm, as most upbeat funk tracks would similarly be, opening with "Get Down" a remix of the 1978 Gene Chandler song by disco-nu-disco re-editor/producer Chewy Rubs whose most recent release was on Yam Who's Midnight Riot label, I let the funk flow keeping all the tracks strictly at 116 bpm for a steady deepburn groove. Mixing by looping in the claps and vocal one shot of 2007 old-but-gold 20:20 Vision release of "Wiggle" by Manchester jazz drummer house producer Moodymanc aka Dubble D, the track has this vintage deep house, perfect to follow with more of the 80s-electro Chicago feeling by Johannes Albert's Hip Edits of the 1987 Mickey Oliver song "Never Let Go" featuring the vocals of Shanna Jay with updated kicks and bassline. 20-something years old Italian Corrado Bucci is a bit of a wonder child/posterboy of the jazzy-soulful house circles with his sophisticated productions seeing pressings from top quality labels like Compost, Defected, Local Talk and BBE Music, who also does A&R and scouting now for Japanese label Rebirth Records where he signed his debut to in 2012. Soulful deep house Berliner Vincenzo gave an uplifting remix to Bucci's "Sumthin'" which is a great filler to bridge to Dortmund/Berlin label Raving Society's dubby synthy lush electro release of "Innstruments" by fellow German Bassart. Indie-electro band Hot Chip's member and vocalist Joe Goddard has been putting out solo material since around 2009 and has formed a bit of a production partnership with Kompakt Records' co-owner and veteran Michael Mayer, so it's not surprising to see him providing a remix to Goddard's latest release on Domino "Children". I had to play a cheeky bootleg of Malinese "Golden Voice of Africa" Salif Keita's ode to women and feminism in Africa, "Moussolou", which also features female Malinese singer Oumou Sangare. Osunlade did an official Yoruba Soul mix of the song but it has a more organic feel although it's till a deep house track, I like the club feel of Megablast's re-edit which is really more like a remix. A bit of trivia about "Wassoulou sound" of Mali - since their independence in the 60's, the Wassoulou region of Mali has produced many strong female musicians creating new music based on their traditional dances and rhythms combined with the djembe drums and a harp-like instrument invented by local youths during this period called the kamalengoni, which gave birth to music unique to Wassoulou that communicates a sense of youthful rebellion and freedom. 2nd half of the mix goes deeper into deeper house and quite accidentally stringing a list of Berlin based artists together. I'm very excited about Berlin-based Get Physical artist MANTU aka Manuel Overbeck who has started his own label Raving Society and has signed some outstanding releases of late. His very own "Underwater Solution" has been described as melancholic but I think it's just the deep jazzy chords and bassline doing its thing. I also got sent a promo EP that includes a dreamy spoken word deep house number "Poetry Jam" by another Berlin producer Kerinnis. Up next, is "Secret Escapes" by yet another Berliner but a veteran, Anja Schneider from her first album after 9 years on her new label SoUS after leaving Mobilee the label she found more than a decade ago. La Fluer is a Swedish-now-living-in Berlin and has this new deep tech house track "Femton" out on the legendary club-label Watergate where he is also one of the resident DJs. The track was also featured in their Nov 2017 Watergate XV compilation. To finish, a remix of "Duhka" by a Brazilian producer L Cio for another Brazilian Gezender, who said that the track was inspired by zen music, mantras and Buddhist songs and was trying to "bring it to sensibile and sensory techno with spiritual, philosophical and political questions". Now, that's what I called deep. Tracklist / Chewy Rubs - Get Down - Chewy Rubs Extendedit Dubble D presents Moodymanc - Wriggle - Original Mix Johannes Albert / Hip Edits - Never Throw - Re-edit of Mickey Oliver & Shanna Jay's Never Let Go Corrado Bucci - Sumthin´ - Vincenzo Remix Bassart - Innstruments - Original Mix Joe Goddard - Children - Michael Mayer Remix Salif Keita - Moussolou - Megablast unofficial Remix MANTU - Underwater Solution KERINNIS - Poetry Jam Anja Schneider - Secret Escapes - Original Mix La Fleur - Femton - Original Mix Gezender - Duhkha - L_Cio Remix The mix is available on all major music social platforms. In 2008 I started a series of radio shows with fellow Freak and host, Jonny Rock. The original format was based around vinyl. Digital started to creep in, then CD's, then YouTube rips, and so on. But the idea remained the same, that we were sharing our discoveries with an audience. Fast forwarding a couple of years and expanding on the original concept, I will once again be playing dance music that you may or may not have heard, but this time said music will be readily available, if pointed in the right direction of course. The idea is for you to use me as your selector slash shop assistant in a virtual record store. Not only will I be shouting about both old and new music, but I will also be following it up with a series of compilations to be released on my label, Classic throughout the year. I will be your slightly odd, slightly off-centre, guide. But ultimately and most importantly, your friendly on-line record shop assistant. Business As Usual: September Track Listing: 01.
