Auch in der zweiten Farewell-Ausgabe der "elektro beats" hat Olaf Zimmermann wieder hochkarätige Studiogäste - Ralf Dörper und Michael Mertens von Propaganda, Christopher von Deylen aka Schiller, Thorsten Quaeschning, den musikalischen Leiter von Tangerine Dream, und Paul Frick von Brandt Brauer Frick. Vierzig Jahre nach ihrer Gründung und fast zwei Jahrzehnte nach ihrer letzten Veröffentlichung kehrt die legendäre Synthie-Pop-Band Propaganda im Oktober mit einem neuen Album zurück. Das wird Thema in der Sendung sein, aber auch Schiller und Tangerine Dream bringen exklusive Tracks zu dieser vorletzten "elektro beats"-Ausgabe mit.

Es ist seit Jahren Tradition, dass die "elektro beats"-Hörerinnen/Hörer ihre Elektronik-Lieblingsplatten voten. In dieser Ausgabe präsentiert Olaf Zimmermann die Ergebnisse des Hörerpolls 2023, die Top 20. Es wird spannend, wer sich wo platziert hat. Everything But The Girl meldeten sich nach einer Ewigkeit mit einem neuen Album zurück, ebenfalls Aphex Twin und es erschien mit "12" das finale Werk von Ryuichi Sakamoto. Ebenfalls Hoffnung auf eine gute Platzierung dürften sich Depeche Mode, OMD, Hauschka, Brandt Brauer Frick oder Vince Clarke mit seinem ersten Soloalbum machen.

Auch im zweiten Teil der Interviewhighlights 2023 präsentiert Olaf Zimmermann noch einmal Parts aus zwölf weiteren Interviews. Das großartige, neue Brandt Brauer Frick-Album heißt "Multi Faith Prayer Room". Was es mit dem ungewöhnlichen Titel und Konzept auf sich hat, klären Jan Brauer und Paul Frick als die Studiogäste von Olaf Zimmermann in der ersten "elektro beats"-Stunde. Die in Wiesbaden gegründete Band Brandt Brauer Frick hat trotz ihrer klassischen Musikausbildung eine große Affinität zur Clubmusik und wandelt seit mehr als zehn Jahren zwischen den Polen der Genres, was sich auf den bisherigen fünf Alben des Trios widerspiegelt. In der ersten "elektro beats"-Stunde begrüßt Olaf Zimmermann als Studiogast den Düsseldorfer Musiker, Produzenten und Labelbetreiber Stefan Schneider. Nach dem Studium Bildender Kunst an der Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie, spielte er u.a. bei Kreidler und to rococo rot und firmiert seit gut 20 Jahren als Solist unter dem Namen "Mapstation". Im Vorjahr erschien mit "My Frequencies, When We" bereits sein 8. Album. Stefan Schneider ist auch der Kurator einer Austellung über das Schaffen von Konrad Schnitzler,- die momentan in der Düsseldorfer Kunsthalle läuft. Viele Themen also , die alle in der ersten Stunde eine Rolle spielen werden. Stunde 2 präsentiert dann u.a. Musik von St.Raumen, Brandt Brauer Frick, Shed, Rosa Anschütz, Arca, Jim Avignon, Riechmann und Ben Lucas Boysen.

Der Musiker und Produzent Mano Le Tough wurde in der Nähe von Dublin geboren und wohnt mittlerweile in Zürich. Sechs Jahre nach "Trails" ist jetzt mit "At The Moment" das dritte Mano Le Tough- Album erschienen. Dieses stellt Olaf Zimmermann in dieser "elektro beats"-Ausgabe ausführlich in einem Special vor. Savannah Pope - Freeway, it's her new single release and could it signal a new LP from her in the making. After Atlantis it would make sense. This single release is a further nod to her past, and a glimmer of hope that new work is coming. It follows fairly standard Savannah Pope conventions by now, there's the high octane guitars, booming percussion and of course the inter-stellar vocals of the rock goddess herself. However, it's slightly more introspective than her previous titles, almost lending a certain authenticity to it. Whichever way you look at it it's certainly just another stopgap on Savannah's obvious rise to stardom. Richard heads back to his beloved France and dishes up a Howlin' Banana sandwich. Or should that be a baguette? He brings in two French bangers by Fontanarosa and Volage respectively. In fact, Tobin is a fan. True to form Tobin dons his socialist donkey jacket with DEADLETTER and their grim social commentary. Bookending with Courtney Marie Andrews, Tobin lends a personal and intimate theme to today's show. And that's it! Oh no it's not, sorry, "That Jamie" drags Brandt Brauer Frick in.

Morgen Abend startet eine neue Konzertreihe im Monarch. Das Konzept: Das Trio KUF läd sich für den Abend befreundete Musiker*innen ein und dann wird experimentiert und improvisiert. Kein "normales" Konzert also, sondern ein spezielles Set abseits des normalen Repertoires. Zur Premiere haben KUF Paul Frick von Brandt Brauer Frick eingeladen. From the 2015 Gio has started also two parallel music projects, one is called "G-Machine" totally oriented on 80's vintage Funk/Disco/Boogie sound, that will see the light trough an album on Bordello A Parigi Records; another project is called "Ron Juan", an alias used to release spiritual house music with less use of the sampling but more original arrangements played with analog instruments. First Ep of Ron Juan will be released on White Rabbit Recordings. Sharing the consolle with artists like Vakula, Red Shape, Brandt Brauer Frick, Patrice Scott, Legowelt, Steve Summers, Gold Panda, Roman Flugel, Hnny, Session Victim and more, Giovanni showed his great skills as DJ in many events through Italy and Europe in the last years, with a great ability to interpreting the crowd vibe and let them appreciate his musical taste.During his performances you can feel all the passion and music culture that Giovanni developed in his career with sounds that ranging from funk, soul and disco to house music in its various shades. Paul is a composer living in Berlin. He is part of the composer collective Klangnetz as well as a band member of the trio Brandt Brauer Frick, whose music is featured at the end of this interview. The piece is called Teufelsleiter.In our conversation we talk about his time living as a composer in Barcelona, his love for complexity in dance and club music, and adapting elements of electronic music into acoustic realities.
