Syngenta Flowers' Dr. Brian Krug and Dr. Jamie Gibson join Tech On Demand host Bill Calkins to discuss the exciting world of begonias, focusing on both vegetative and seed varieties. They explore the latest introductions, production best practices and the importance of lighting and PGRs in growing high-quality begonias. The discussion highlights the growing popularity of begonias in gardening and their versatility in various applications. One of the top new introductions at California Spring Trials in 2025 was iCandy, a vegetative series of hybrid begonias for quarts and up—with double flowers and dark foliage—and Brian spends time detailing production best practices before moving on to other vegetative series including Adora (perfect for baskets), Birthday Bash (more traditional, waxy foliage and double flowers) and Florencio (a boliviensis hybrid). Then Jamie goes through tips and tricks for producing a few newer seed-raised series from Syngenta including Bossa Nova (boliviensis types), Bionic (large, interspecific landscape type) Tophat (early-to-flower interspecifics with huge flowers) and Limitless (tuberous). For each series, Brian and Jamie discuss production recommendations from propagation through finish—including lighting protocols, PGR regimes, temperature requirements and much more. Strategies to reduce the risk of blind cuttings are also shared. WATCH THE VIDEO! Some houses don't just hold memories — they absorb them, twist them, and spit them back out in ways that can haunt a family for generations. This is one of those true haunted house stories. For nearly 40 years, one family lived under the same roof. Arguments, laughter, fear, and grief soaked into its walls. And from the youngest child's earliest memories, the house seemed alive — flickering fans that switched on by themselves, shadows passing across doors, footsteps echoing when no one was there. At first, it seemed harmless, even dismissible. But then came the Ouija board. What began as a childhood prank turned into something darker — sisters unable to breathe mid-session, children terrified of closets, and whispers in the night that mimicked family members' voices. And always, looming in the background, was the man in the top hat. He appeared in the backyard in broad daylight. He stood in doorways, silent and towering. Friends who never believed in the paranormal saw him, too — proving this was no simple imagination. Was this a poltergeist, feeding off decades of energy? A generational haunting passed through objects like the Ouija board? Or something far older, lurking behind closets, mirrors, and doorways, wearing the faces of those they loved? #RealGhostStories #TrueHaunting #HauntedHouse #OuijaBoardGoneWrong #ManInTheHat #ShadowPeople #CreepyStories #ParanormalActivity #HauntedCloset #GhostEncounters #FamilyHaunting #TrueStory Love real ghost stories? On this edition of Real Ghost Stories Online Live, the darkness begins in a cemetery. Allie from Philadelphia shares one of the earliest ghost stories she ever heard—passed down from her skeptical father. As a teen, her father and friends gathered in a family cemetery one night. When one boy tried to vandalize a tombstone, everything stopped. A voice cut through the silence: “Hey, you kids!” Blocking the only exit was a towering figure in a top hat. No face. No features. Just a shadow, impossibly tall and pointing straight at them. The boys scattered in panic, but the image seared itself into her father's memory. Days later, in the local library, he found a sepia family portrait. The patriarch of the cemetery's owners stared back from the photo—tall, hat perched high—the same man they had seen days before. This chilling tale leads into the enduring mystery of the “Top Hat Man,” a figure reported worldwide—looming shadows in hats, watching silently before vanishing. Are they spirits dressed in their finest, cultural echoes of the past… or a single entity manifesting across generations? The hosts dive into this phenomenon, linking it to other archetypal apparitions: the woman in white, the man in black, the red-dressed figures haunting bedrooms at night. And in a darkly comedic twist, the night closes with an “ABC Prime Time” parody—familiar sitcoms warped into tales of murder, possession, and shadowed horrors lurking just beyond the laugh track. Nostalgia becomes nightmare, reminding us that even the warmest memories can curdle when the shadows slip in. Tonight's stories capture both terror and absurdity. From the cemetery apparition no skeptic could deny to sitcoms turned sinister, one truth remains: the shadows are always closer than we think. And sometimes, they're wearing a top hat. #TopHatMan #ShadowFigure #RealGhostStories #CemeteryGhost #HauntedPhiladelphia #ParanormalActivity #GhostClothes #HatManEncounters #ParanormalPodcast #GhostStoriesOnline Love real ghost stories? Starlight Thursdays Episode 271 Featuring BK Love, Recorded live at the Top Hat. It's always such a pleasure to perform at this legendary venue. As of late my music selection brings us closer to the equator but maintains a trip around the world with tracks from so many nations and cultures under one roof. I recently discovered a genre called “Reggae House”. With my deep appreciation of all things Jamaican i was instantly hooked and listened to hundreds of tracks overnight. I chose a handful of my favorites and blended them in with my traditional selection as an homage to the originators of sound system culture that inspired what became the electronic dance music scene today. The music was received well as the room quickly grew into a dance party full of funky movement and energetic cheers. I live for these moments. BK Love

CONTENT WARNING: Discussion of racism, sexual assault, false imprisonment. We've got a new name, a new season, and a new series! First up, we talk about our name change with a tagline you may be familiar with. Then, we kick off a new series with a trip through ALL the decades - if the year ends in 5, we're watching a movie from it! We kick things off with a frothy, zippy, real humdinger of a musical with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers doing their thing. Remarkably, this movie is incredibly wholesome and unproblematic, its most offensive thing being a wacky Italian accent that angered Mussolini - in short, a net benefit. We kick off our Decades Grab Bag with 1935's Top Hat on Have a Good Movie! You can email us with feedback at macintoshandmaud@gmail.com, or you can connect with us on BlueSky! Tony Yau shared every twist and turn in his college career with the Autism Goes to College audience. From his first semester at the University of Oregon to a re-orienting stopover at community college and on to St. Mary's, Tony's been generous with his candid takes on college life. Some of his insights: Don't over do it with DoorDash, don't hesitate to switch majors, or, even colleges. Because what Tony reveals in this final episode of his undergrad experience is that once you're in the right place studying something you care about, it can all flow a lot better. Oh yeah, and he definitely did not like the wrap around support dorm for neurodivergent students. He likes his decompression and down time, so an off campus solo apartment made all the difference. And now, he has his degree. Hear about Tony's internship, and what's next on this episode.Higher Listenings: Joy for EducatorsA new podcast from Top Hat delivering ideas, relief, and joy to the future of teaching.Listen on: Apple Podcasts SpotifySupport the show

What if the workplace friction you face daily isn't just “how things are” but something you can change? In this eye-opening conversation, Margaret Graziano—bestselling author of Ignite Culture—shares how most dysfunction at work is created, not inevitable. Drawing from decades of experience and research in neuroscience and organizational development, Margie empowers us to stop pointing fingers and start looking within.Science shows that 75% of employees experience high stress, much of it due to interpersonal conflict. When triggered, our brain's executive function shuts down, leading to poor decisions. Margie introduces a powerful formula—Performance = Potential - Interference—revealing that removing emotional and relational blockers is just as important as building skills or talent. This episode delivers practical tools like the SCULPT method to shift from reaction to response and strategies for team alignment. Whether you're a leader or team member, Margie's insights offer a roadmap to building healthy, high-performing cultures—starting with one powerful question: What role am I playing in the problems I see?
