Recorded: July 28th 2025 | This week on Bussin’ With The Boys, Will Compton and Taylor Lewan have on the legendary Theo Von! From deep thoughts to deep woods, Theo takes us on a ride through his fasting-fueled introspections, sketch comedy chaos, and SEC football hot takes. We kick things off with a fun intro discussing Dieon Sanders news, and the upcoming Bussin’ Bowl Live Show. After our electric intro, the Theo interview kicks off starting with Theo sharing about his current fast… yeah, he’s starving, but it’s got him thinking deep. He opens up about how not eating for days makes his mind sharper and his soul weirder, and how it’s even made him re-evaluate his dream guests on This Past Weekend. He hopes to have an episode with The Pope and Marilyn Monroe. Theo also drops a bombshell: he was approached to be in Adam Sandler’s ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ on Netflix but had to turn it down due to scheduling conflicts. The boys chop it up about Theo’s long-time friendship with Bobby Lee and the success of his True Friends podcast. He reflects on the early years of grinding in LA, podcasting before it was cool, and what it was like trying to find his voice while bouncing off other now-huge comics. The boys also talk about Theo’s viral “Digger” sketch with Shane Gillis and Druski, breaking down the behind-the-scenes chaos and what it’s like working with comedy heavyweights. Then things get outdoorsy as Theo talks about his fun camping trip with none other than Glenny Balls and the owner of Jimmy John’s Sandwiches. We even get a heartfelt moment as Theo opens up about his friendship with UFC star Dustin Poirier, sharing some behind-the-scenes stories and what it means to know a guy who's still as real as they come. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Bussin’ episode without some football talk. Theo, Will, and Taylor break down their bold predictions for the upcoming SEC season, roasting a few teams along the way and throwing out some sleeper picks you probably didn’t see coming. 0:00 Intro3:23 Bussin Bowl Live Show11:26 Taylor’s Bday Present16:31 Will’s Trip To Canada30:56 Madden 99 Club45:23 Lewan BBQ Party58:49 Happy Gilmore 2 Was A Hit1:11:26 Deion Sanders Health Issues1:18:51 NFLPA Drama 1:29:07 THEO VON INTERVIEW STARTS 1:29:09 The F Word Has Become More Popular1:31:23 Theo Lost His Smile1:33:11 Growing Up In Louisiana 1:34:57 Does He Feel That He Always NeedsTo Be Funny?1:37:05 This Past Weekend Podcast1:50:27 White Whale Guests1:54:51 The Diggers Movie?2:01:23 Glenny Balls & Theo Went Camping 2:10:01 Huge SEC Fan2:14:41 His Relationship With Bobby Lee And Andrew Santino2:18:09 Happy Gilmore 2 Approached Him?2:23:11 Vanderbilt & Diego Pavia Expectations2:34:50 Fear In Leaving Barstool?2:41:05 Those Who Suffer Before Necessary Suffer More Than Necessary 2:46:59 Breaking Away From Kast Media2:55:11 Going Early To UFC Fights3:04:26 Bud Light: What Would You Do Anything For?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
This is an episode packed with odd resonances, echoes, large whiskers, many presidents and the origin of a modern bank. Now that the diamond fields were being exploited, this being1870, a plethora of politicians lined up to claim ownership — the ever-ambitious and unrealistic President Pretorius of the Transvaal among these, who as you heard last episode, had been chased away by the diggers. These were an international lot, not prone to being intimidated by old bearded men from the Transvaal. His attempt at unilaterally granting drights to the diamond fields to messers Webb, Posno and Munnich had gone done like a lead balloon. As you heard, too, Nicholas Waterboer also claimed these fields, so too the Free State government under President Steyn. Waterboer was persuaded by his Cape educated lawyer the vigorous pen-and-ink warfare expert David Arnot, to ask the British Government to honour his claim on behalf of the Griqua. Waterboer didn't need much convincing. Author and Journalist Frederick Boyle who wrote “To the Cape For Diamonds” published in 1873 respected Arnot, meeting him in 1871 and describing him as very short, very thick, with a large face clean shaven and a dark skin burnt darker by South African suns. “Mr David Arnot is one of those gentlemen who, in a larger or smaller sphere, make history…” He'd conducted Waterboer's business for 17 years, and as Boyle said, had made “..not one mistake..” Which is a miracle considering the forces at work in the transOrangia. A diplomats diplomat they said. Tenacious, unfailing, undaunted. He was President Pretorius and President Brands nemesis in some ways, a highly educated coloured man who was connected to the levers of power. He was also relatively wealthy, working as an attorney in Colesberg earning 2000 pounds a year. A man of his time, like other educated men and women of the Victorian era, he collected plants and wrote letters to famous scientists in his spare time. Devout imperialist and friend, Richard Southey agreed. But the incoming high Commissioner, Sir Henry Barkly, needed to be pursuaded. He'd just arrived, sporting enormous black whiskers, a large commanding figure, an authoritarian, gruff, former member of the English parliament, he didn't want to be dragged into some territorial dispute so early in his governorship. He'd replaced Sir Philip Wodehouse as High Commissioner — Wodehouse congratulated himself when he left in May 1870 claiming not a shot had been fired by a British soldier during his stint — which was a stunning turnaround from the preceding 70 years, particularly the turbulent 1840s. In the interregnum between the discovery of diamonds and annexation of the diamondiferous land by Great Britain, a short-lived but highly entertaining Free Diamond Republic sprang into being. Self-appointed, proudly chaotic, and run by the diggers for the diggers. The Diggers Republic had all the trappings — including a flag which a ccording to historical accounts, featured the Union Jack in the top corner, similar to other colonial flags of the era. And its President? Stafford Parker was his name, and he was to rule over the territory for the grand total of twelve months. One reporter from London said that he “behaved modestly and does honour to his position … the order of the day — is solid civility —- listen to, but say nothing, and dig away….” Golden rule amongst treasure hunters. Stay shtum as you grind away. President Stafford Parker—ever the showman with a wink and a waistcoat—launched his corrugated iron canteen at Klipdrift on the banks of the Vaal with all the flair of a Mar-a-Lago meets muddy boots affair. Not content with presiding over a ragtag republic of diggers and dreamers, Parker decided he'd double as chief entertainer and purveyor of refreshments, slinging drinks and good cheer beneath a roof of rippling iron. Why not? If you're going to rule, you might as well pour the pints too.
At 101 years old, Reg Chard sits down for what he declares “the last interview I'll ever do.” This powerful and poignant conversation takes us on a journey through his extraordinary life and it's unlike any other episode we've recorded. We begin before the war: a young baker's apprentice, the youngest of ten children in Dulwich Hill, NSW, whose heart guided him to leave civilian safety and enlist at just 18 despite bakers being exempt. We travel next to the brutal jungles of New Guinea, where Reg endured malaria, scrub typhus, and unimaginable hardship along the Kokoda Trail. He shares vivid stories from Milne Bay and Imita Ridge, recalls the airstrip built under fire, and recounts losing mates at Sanananda all while recounting the sheer endurance he found in the harshest conditions .Then the challenge of returning to civilian life. With his homeland's baker offering his old role, Reg chose instead to work in iron foundries and the trucking industry, building a life alongside his sweetheart Betty, whom he married in October 1945 .Now, in this stirring final interview, Reg reflects on courage, loss, survival and community. At 101, he's not just a veteran; he's an educator, a guide at the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway, and a custodian of a legacy that he believes should be remembered not by him, but by those who never came home .This episode is a rare and intimate tribute Reg's swan song as one of Australia's last surviving Kokoda soldiers. Don't miss this final testament of bravery, resilience, and the quiet dignity of a Digger's life. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Finally, the report touches on team growth within his company and a packed schedule of upcoming events and appearances, emphasizing a commitment to enhancing the pond experience for both professionals and enthusiasts. Key Takeaways: Plan ahead for your pond's needs by scheduling inspections, cleanouts, or considering a summer tune-up before fall. Arm yourself with essential questions to ask specialty pond contractors to protect yourself from potential scams. What if your company's success depends less on what you build and more on what your people are chasing? For Ken Rusk, digging ditches became the foundation for building something far more valuable: a company where employees don't just show up to work — they show up for their lives. In this episode, I speak with Ken Rusk, nine-figure entrepreneur and author of Blue Collar Cash, about how he built his business by aligning personal dreams with company growth, and why creating a culture of ownership, vision, and peace is more powerful than chasing the next milestone. Ken shares how he developed a visual goal-setting system that drives performance, why he made his company employee-owned, and how his leadership mindset shifted after overcoming personal and professional crises, including a health scare with his daughter and navigating the pandemic. We talk about: How turning employees into goal-setters created unstoppable momentum Why giving up control was the best decision he ever made as a leader How to build long-term loyalty without high-pressure tactics or perks The difference between reacting and proacting as an entrepreneur What “comfort, peace, and freedom” really mean, and how to build toward them How to spot internal leaders (and how to help them thrive) This episode is packed with wisdom for anyone building a business, leading a team, or simply looking to live more intentionally, not someday, but starting today. Novo Resources (TSX: NVO - OTCQB: NSRPF - ASX:NVO) is ramping up exploration at the John Bull Project in New South Wales, with a 1,500-meter RC drill program planned for June. Executive Co-Chairman Mike Spreadborough and General Manager of Exploration Kas De Luca join us for a detailed update on Novo's growing pipeline of exploration activity across Australia. The conversation centers on the John Bull Project, where a recently extended gold-in-soil anomaly now spans 1.5 kilometers and includes multiple rock chip samples grading up to 67.9 g/t gold. Key topics covered: Overview of the John Bull Project: Background on the asset, the significance of the soil and rock chip sampling, and how recent work has confirmed and expanded a robust gold anomaly. Upcoming drill program: A 1,500m RC program will test newly defined quartz vein arrays and multiple fault zones. Only ~300m of the anomaly has seen previous drilling. Four priority targets: John Bull Main, John Bull South, Hills Creek West, and Digger's North - all within a 1.5 km trend. Updates on other projects: Drilling has just been completed at Balla Balla (Pilbara) with results expected in 3 weeks, and drilling is underway at Tibooburra (New South Wales), also acquired in late 2024. Cash position and funding: Novo holds approximately A$9 million in cash, along with marketable securities, giving it the flexibility to continue executing across multiple projects. Terribly wounded on 25 April 1915 at Gallipoli, AIF Private Frank Downes would be celebrated as The Blind Digger. After returning home on the first hospital ship from Egypt, he was an Anzac hero, a patriotic public speaker, a radio personality and a good husband and father. But Frank's image was to be tainted by scandal and then shattered by a mysterious death that left Aussies wondering whether this war hero was a cold-blooded murderer. For free trial access to early ad-free episodes and exclusive bonus episodes:Apple.co/ForgottenAustralia or https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/forgotten-australia/id1442763878Patreon.com/ForgottenAustraliaCheck out my books:They'll Never Hold Me:https://www.booktopia.com.au/they-ll-never-hold-me-michael-adams/book/9781923046474.htmlThe Murder Squad:https://www.booktopia.com.au/the-murder-squad-michael-adams/book/9781923046504.htmlHanging Ned Kelly:https://www.booktopia.com.au/hanging-ned-kelly-michael-adams/book/9781922992185.htmlAustralia's Sweetheart:https://www.booktopia.com.au/australia-s-sweetheart-michael-adams/book/9780733640292.htmlEmail: forgottenaustraliapodcast@gmail.com Hosted on Acast. Welcome back to the Konfidence in the Klutch Podcast with Donald Nelson. Konfidence in the Klutch's Deezus gives his Konfident Service Announcement on nurturing your children (2:50). Deezus talks Politics as usual with thoughts on Trump's tariffs. Will they make it hard on Americans, or will it be greater later for Americans? Target loses $12B since canceling DEI policies (7:15). Deezus then gives his NBA news with a four-pack: Min vs Den from Westbrook's foul and saluting Jokic on a 60-point triple-double. The intensity has picked up due to playoff positioning. Draymond vs the eras, I give bail to both. Ja, they've asked you not to do it. Ant-Man, is it you or them? (18:40) Deezy gives his updated thoughts on the NCAA Men's and Women's Final Four and National Championship games. Flau'Jae will return for her senior year (23:00). Deezy gives his quick ones: Ayesha Howard responds to those who said she's a gold digger by saying they're poverty diggers. Father, children, McDonald's, and a job (34:00). For the first time in its 30 year history, three women have made it into the National Digger Operator finals in Fielding later this week. Past tasks have included slam dunking a basket ball and pouring a cup of tea using the claws on the massive digging machines. Lydia Hill, the Nelson Marlborough champion spoke to Lisa Owen.
**This episode ALSO contains more Pest than is recommended for listening consumption. Digger discretion is still advised. **This time he's pretending to be a big boss man. In typical Duggar fashion we get a horrible use of time and preparation so they're scrambling. The clan needs to go to city officials to see if they can re-zone a new car lot and we watch as Lego Hair has to step in. In the Dig, we get into one of the Men's Manuals and what they say about business (...business) decisions made as a married couple. I'm getting really mixed signals here, do I care what my wife has to say about a big decision like that, or not? As an IBLP man I'm probably so confused at the end of this. Enjoy what you hear? British character actor Torin Thatcher made a name for himself as a Hollywood heavy in everything from seafaring adventures to magical fantasies. We'll hear him as a miner forced to return to the site of an accident where he was the only survivor in "The Digger" (originally aired on CBS on October 9, 1956). Plus, he plays Mark Anthony as CBS brings you a "live" report of "The Assassination of Julius Caesar" in You Are There (originally aired on CBS on April 24, 1949) and he's part of a terrific cast in a fascinating adaptation of fourteenth-century Japanese theatre in "Noh Plays of Japan" from The CBS Radio Workshop (originally aired on CBS on April 7, 1957).

Content Warning ***this episode had way too much Pest for anyone's consumption. Digger discretion is advised*** We get to see the "ginder" of Pest and Anna's next creation. We watch as Lego Hair is annoying, nothing new there. And Cannon drains all of the toner in the family's office copier, in order to print out two giant color pictures of the male/female symbols. In our Dig we get into the tactics that controlling groups use to make concepts like kindness and empathy sound like they're evil, and how if you listen to them, you can treat anyone you would like to as awful as possible. In this episode of The Real Build, I sit down with Ken Rusk, an entrepreneur, mentor, and advocate for blue-collar success. Ken isn't just someone who talks about the potential of the trades; he's lived it.Starting at just 15 years old as a ditch digger, Ken worked his way up to become a highly successful business owner, proving that hard work, determination, and the right mindset can lead to financial freedom without a college degree.Ken is also the author of the Wall Street Journal bestseller Blue-Collar Cash, where he breaks down how skilled trades can offer financial security, independence, and an incredible quality of life. His insights challenge the traditional belief that college is the only path to success and show how anyone can build a rewarding career by mastering their craft. In this episode, we discuss:

In this episode we chat about the latest Sister Wives episode, "A Time to Weep, A Time to Laugh." We finally see Garrison during Christine and David's pre-wedding celebrations, which was so emotional. The episode kicks off with Kody and Robyn's four-wheeler adventure, where Robyn flips off her vehicle, leaving us hanging about her condition. Christine and David's wedding preparations are heartwarming. Kody and Robyn's relationship struggles take center stage as Robyn tries to get Kody to reconnect with his other wives, but he resists. Meri's quilt scene is bizarre, with Kody wanting t-shirt scraps back. The pre-wedding boat party shows a fun side of the family, with Christine chugging a Bud Light seltzer. Kody admits to Robyn he's thought about leaving her, and they discuss moving to Europe. Next week's episode teases Christine and David's wedding day, and I can't wait to see it. Eric and Tyson discuss The Pond Digger's planned rebranding. Eric shares his vision for a bolder brand image, inspired by a Cal Fire truck, aiming for a more authoritative and professional appearance. He reflects on past rebranding experiences and emphasizes the importance of branding in shaping customer perception and employee morale. The conversation explores the concept of brand evolution versus a complete rebrand, focusing on conveying expertise and reliability. Key Takeaways... Evaluate your brand to see if it needs to evolve. Strive to be the authority in your industry. Invest in your company's image to elevate your brand and inspire employees. Setting goals and sharing them makes you more likely to achieve them. Create a standard in your industry if one does not already exist.
