GUMMIES, 5min,. USA Directed by Renetta G. Amador A tomboy transforms the gender trappings of her room to show her cruel mother how sugar and spice don't equal nice. http://www.mexecutionerproductions.com/ https://www.instagram.com/gummies_film/ Get to know the filmmaker: After I graduated college I worked as a Program Director for a GLBTQI++ organization working with teens from 12 – 19 who were struggling with their sexual identity. I met the writer of Gummies through a film festival that my first short film was in. When I read his script, I thought of all the people I worked with, the people I was friends and family with, that in some way or another had been constantly put into a box they didn't want to be in. I knew I had to make this short and show the consequences of this. You can sign up for the 7 day free trial at www.wildsound.ca (available on your streaming services and APPS). Ele conta como as Igrejas evangélicas conservadoras fundamentalistas fizeram o processo de sua exclusão depois da participação na parada: Não convidavam mais para pregar ou para outras atividades, como uma lei do silêncio subliminar.
Several people have asked me what is the difference between Progressive and Evangelical Christians. There are some major differences between the two. In this episode I continue the conversation by talking about the Progressive view of radical inclusion of all people, especially those of the LGBTQI community.

Dating bites (& no, that’s not necessarily a complaint :)). Learn to get out there and enjoy yourself as you peruse your choices. This episode is for everyone – all genders and sexualities – but today we focus on same-sex oriented women in the LGBTQ community. If you’re a queer woman who has been struggling with your dating life or if you’re still considering whether or not to come out, you’ll enjoy this discussion with co-host Sue Marriott LCSW, and Austin-base therapist Pam Greenstone. They’ ll discuss the importance of building up a multi-faceted support system, identifying red flags in a partner as well as yourself, and pacing out a relationship. Learn to identify internalized sexual stigma and how to come to rely on others to keep you regulated in the early days of dating someone new. You’ll learn about some researched differences in dating in the heterosexual community and that in the LGBTQI community as well as gender role differences that come to play in some, but not all, same-sex relationships. It is such a pleasure to interview Anthony again. We reflect on the story told in the last episode, about the pleasure of dressing in pink, frilly outfits, and wearing six-inch high heels. “I appreciate the sparkly nature of what I do.” In this episode, we talk about language and the importance of being aware of your privilege. Acknowledging that gender isn’t dichotomous, we talk about the feelings that Anthony experiences with a more feminine expression of self and a more masculine expression of self. Anthony is optimistic that each successive generation is that bit more open-minded to GLBTQI issues. While the pace of change can be frustrating, there is a sense that, slowly, acceptance of gender and sexual diversity is growing. “And the only way we’re gonna do that is being true to ourselves and not kind of hiding behind whatever we choose to hide behind, whether it be our words, our actions, or our clothing.”
The third speaker in our series of reflections on beginnings and futures is a leader from a new movement within Islam that recognizes full equality for gay, lesbian, and transgender peoples.
