On this episode of Previously On This Week, Jillian breaks down the My Life with the Walter Boys Season 3 trailer and explains why Jackie and Cole need to make some actual progress before she loses it. From a mysterious new love interest and a possible Alex, Kiley, Dylan triangle to the Walter family dealing with the aftermath of George's health scare, there is already plenty of drama waiting for us when the series returns.Plus, Jillian runs through the stacked summer TV schedule, including Ransom Canyon, Sterling Point, The Shards, and the final season of Outer Banks. She also discusses Zendaya's full movie-star press tour for The Odyssey, the upcoming Euphoria look-back special, and Olivia Wilde finally sharing stories from her time on The O.C.Then, it's time for an important fandom PSA after Off Campus fans took things way too far: please stop harassing actors' real-life partners and maybe stop rooting for costars who play couples to date in real life while you're at it!Finally, Jillian shares what she's currently watching, why Every Year After is even more fun on a rewatch, and the Prime Video K-drama rom-com that has her counting down the days until the next episode.00:00 Intro to pod00:22 MLWTWB S3 Trailer06:36 Summer Shows07:11 Ransom Canyon07:45 Sterling Point08:22 The Shards08:47 Outer Banks S509:41 Zendaya - The Odyssey11:05 Euphoria A Look Back11:47 Olivia Wilde - The Invite14:33 Off Campus drama18:18 What to watch18:43 Every Year After19:33 See You at Work TomorrowThank you to Matt Buechele (@mattbooshell) for creating our new theme song. One of the most irresistible questions in sci-fi stories about aliens is what our reaction will be when we learn of their existence. Horror? Bewilderment? Relief? Euphoria? It's a scenario we love to imagine again and again, like in Steven Spielberg's recent movie, “Disclosure Day.” But how would humanity react if we learned of intelligent aliens? Can you actually study that? It turns out there's a whole lab inside SETI, the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, that is thinking about what the public response might be and how to prepare for it. Host Ira Flatow sits down with astronomer Lucian Walkowicz and philosopher-ethicist Chelsea Haramia, co-directors SETI's Discovery and Futures Lab, to talk about the research that's been done to answer these questions. Guests: Dr. Lucian Walkowicz is an astronomer and science advisory board member at SETI. Dr. Chelsea Haramia is a senior research fellow at the University of Bonn in Germany, and a philosopher-ethicist at SETI. Other episodes you may enjoy: How Close Are We To Answers About Aliens? In this episode, we're mixing reptiles, pop culture, and plenty of laughs! We kick things off by talking about Euphoria and one of the show's most memorable reptile moments. A snake is portrayed as a deadly rattlesnake... except it definitely isn't. We break down the species that actually appears on screen, why it matters, and some of the creative movie magic used to make it fit the scene. Then we swap some of our funniest vacation stories, from unexpected mishaps to the kinds of moments that only seem to happen when you're traveling. To wrap things up, we play a round of Blind Ranking, where we have to rank different ways to eat eggs before knowing what comes next. The results are egg-actly as chaotic as you'd expect.Whether you're here for reptile facts, behind-the-scenes TV trivia, or just a good laugh, this episode has a little something for everyone.Get early access to episodes: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-wild-type-podcast/subscribeFollow the podcast: - https://www.instagram.com/thewildtypepodcast/- https://www.tiktok.com/@thewildtypepodcast- Merch: https://the-wild-type-podcast-llc-shop.fourthwall.com/Follow Neptune the Chameleon:- https://www.youtube.com/c/NeptunetheChameleon/- http://instagram.com/neptunethechameleon- https://tiktok.com/@neptunethechameleon- http://facebook.com/neptunethechameleon- https://www.neptunethechameleon.comFollow Lyssa's Lizards:- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmZaN6Q4yOt1j36J0-Ml6LQ- https://www.instagram.com/lyssaslizards- https://www.tiktok.com/@lyssaslizards- https://m.facebook.com/p/Lyssas-Lizards-100064470381677/- https://www.lyssaslizards.comSponsors:- https://www.pangeareptile.com/wildtype- https://symtonbsf.com/- https://reptilekages.com/- https://thebiodude.com/- https://frostbitefeeders.com/- https://arcadiareptile.com/?utm_source=the_wild_type&utm_medium=podcast
Celtic are the reigning Premiership champions, but optimism around Parkhead is in short supply. Charlotte Cohen is joined by Herald sports writer Stephen McGowan and Celtic supporter Asim Rabbani to discuss a dramatic title triumph, the emotional final-day victory over Hearts and why many supporters remain deeply frustrated despite ending last season on top. The panel examine Martin O'Neill's return for another year, concerns over recruitment, the lack of transfer activity ahead of a crucial Champions League qualifier and uncertainty surrounding several key players. There's also discussion around Callum McGregor's future, the influence of decision-makers behind the scenes and whether Celtic have learned the lessons from previous transfer windows. After winning the league in dramatic fashion, can the champions build on success or are familiar problems threatening to hold them back?

This morning on the show, we had a real treat for our listeners. Lucas Santiago, a rising senior at Loyal and Marramount University in LA, joined us to share his incredible story of landing a role in the hit HBO series Euphoria. But that's not all - we also dove into some surprising song meanings that we thought we knew, but didn't. From the TLC classic "Waterfalls" to the Green Day anthem "Good Riddance," we explored the real stories behind some of our favorite songs.Lucas's story is one for the books. As a background actor, he landed a spot in the wedding scene of Euphoria, sitting right behind Zendaya and Jacob Elordi. We talked to him about his experience and what it was like to be a part of such a popular show. But that's not all - we also had a great conversation about the importance of networking and following your passion in the entertainment industry. We also had a fun segment where we discussed some popular songs that have double meanings. From "Waterfalls" to "Good Riddance," we explored the real stories behind some of our favorite songs. It turns out that some of these songs are not what we thought they were about, and it's a great reminder to really listen to the lyrics. If you want to hear more of Lucas's story and learn about the surprising meanings behind some of your favorite songs, tune in to this episode of the show. We also want to remind you to enter the Noah Khan contest by leaving a talkback on the iHeartRadio app when you hear a Noah Khan song. Don't miss out on the chance to win tickets to see Noah Khan at Fenway this week.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The big things you need to know:First, across the globe our analysts are constructive on performance over the next 6-12 months and see attractive valuations in the industries they cover.Second, Europe and Canada captured the most optimistic performance outlooks among our four coverage regions, but the US was not far behind.Third, our Canadian and US analysts expressed a favorable view of their own respective domestic policy backdrops. On the US midterm elections, our US analysts had a slightly constructive tilt on performance in a Republican sweep scenario, a slightly negative tilt on performance in a Democratic sweep scenario, and a neutral view on performance in a split Congress scenario.Fourth, at the global sector level, performance outlooks were mostly positive and came in stronger than other sectors for Materials and Industrials, but only by a little.

If you haven't seen the photos of the massive crowd that Angine de Poitrine drew at the Jazz Fest last weekend you should do yourself a favour and check them out. I haven't really hear precise estimates of attendance but I think it's easily around 100,000 people based on what I know of the layout and rough capacity. We've talked a little bit about what makes Angine de Poitrine the band of the moment right now and I think their popularity is almost a direct rejection of AI. Something that sounds and looks so different from everything else while still being pretty accessible just pierces through the monoculture slop that seems to be everywhere. These guys rule and I'm glad the world is getting a taste of some weirdo Quebecois culture. Scott talks at length about Rambo: Forces of Freedom which he presumably stumbled up while watching the MAXOUT POWERBLOCK over on YouTube. I love how toy and cartoon adaptations of R-Rated movies were a thing in the 80s and I'm a little bummed we don't see more of that anymore. Where are my Requiem for a Dream animated specials? Why can't I play with my Midsommar playset with real old-people-jumping-off-cliff action? Anyways, over on Garbage Time Jon watched Fury Road and things have grown even murkier in his mind about what movie should top our Movie List. He also watched David Cronenberg's Crash and now we're all wondering if we should be turned on by car wrecks. We finish things off talking about the final season of Euphoria and Back to the Future. If you would like to show your support and head over to Patreon and subscribe at the 9ES Deluxe tier to listen to this and all past episodes of Garbage Time that would be appreciated. Aramide Tinubu (Television Critic, Variety) and Kate Erbland (Editorial Director, IndieWire) join Reshma Gopaldas to discuss the upcoming Emmy nominations and what we hope to see. Erbland explains the voting process as we lead up to the nominations on July 8. We talk about the shows that have been largely ignored by the Television Academy, what shows you won't see being recognized, why The Bear has never belonged in comedy and why it might, for the first time, not see much Emmy recognition this round. Widow's Bay is a new entree on the table, and is pushing The Bear off the menu, with Matthew Rhys leading the horror comedy. This year marks a final bow for Outlander, Hacks, The Bear and more. Will Caitríona Balfe finally get the Emmy acknowledgement and accolades for her work over the last 10 years on Outlander? Patina Miller also ends her run on Raising Kanan and Tinubu says her work has been stand out, yet largely ignored. Erbland shouts out Kate O'Flynn for her turn in Widow's Bay. Rhea Seehorn and Karolina Wydra's work in Pluribus is sure to get recognition for their apocalyptic antics. This is a remastered version of episode 4, from 2023, when the podcast was new. It's such a great interview that I remastered it and republished it. Sam Trammell is not only a great actor, but a fascinating person who had a dream, chased it to fruition, and made it happen. He is probably best known for his role as the shapeshifter Sam Merlotte in HBO's "True Blood," and has also been in "The Fault in our Stars," "Homeland," "The Gray House," "Big George Foreman," and many other movies, TV shows, and plays. He is currently in "Euphoria" as the character Ellis. We talk about childhood visions of being a physicist, getting into acting, Brown Summer Theater, Broadway and Off-Broadway jobs, acting classes, working hard, staying focused, luck, persistance, rejection, staying in and getting out of character, doing accents, moving to Los Angeles, avoiding temptations, drugs, food, professional decisions, job choices, auditions, offers, a typical day on a set, dangers, calling up emotions, alligators, advice for young aspiring actors, and more. Dan Nathan and Guy Adami break down a market caught in the late stages of euphoria. They dig into Micron's record-high run and the broader memory-stock mania—and ask the uncomfortable question of who's actually left to buy at these levels. With hyperscalers rolling over (Microsoft just posted its worst month since 2000) and Palantir cut in half, Dan and Guy debate whether this is a healthy rotation or the churn before the storm. The guys also get into the "it's different this time" debate around memory stocks as a secular vs. cyclical trade, the SpaceX debt losses and OpenAI's delayed IPO, why crude oil is shrugging off real geopolitical risk, a hawkish Kevin Warsh Fed and the jobs report, Bitcoin slipping below 60K, and Nike's earnings ahead of a brutal stretch for the stock. The Knicks' championship celebration takes over City Hall as Evan Roberts and Tiki Barber capture the emotion, chaos, and joy of a fan base finally getting its moment. From Jalen Brunson thanking the city to the team receiving keys to New York, the scene is packed with pride, humor, and the feeling of history finally being delivered. Evan and Tiki react live as Brunson, Karl Anthony Towns, Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, and the rest of the Knicks soak in the celebration. They break down the biggest moments from the ceremony, praise the energy of Knicks fans, debate what comes next for the roster, and reflect on whether this title could be the start of something even bigger in New York.
The Knicks championship glow continues, but the conversation turns toward what it takes for another New York team to follow their lead. Tiki and Shaun weigh whether the Yankees have the edge, urgency, and organizational mindset to become the city's next champion while also acknowledging how far the Mets feel from that same conversation. The discussion moves from the Mets pitching problems to the Knicks blueprint, including smart roster building, basketball IQ, and the value of players who know how to win. Callers add emotional perspective on what the Knicks title means to fans, while the Yankees debate centers on whether their young players, pitching, and subtle organizational changes point to a team that is finally developing a true championship identity.
