As the full-scale invasion of Ukraine nears its four-year anniversary, The Naked Pravda looks back even further to the origins of the conflict that began nearly 12 years ago. This episode features a deep dive into the 2013–14 Euromaidan Revolution and its counter-movement, the Antimaidan. William Jay Risch, a professor of Russian and Eastern European history at Georgia College, joins the podcast to discuss his forthcoming book, Ukraine's Euromaidan: From Revolutionary Euphoria to the Madness of War. In this interview, Risch challenges prevailing Western narratives by examining the marginalization of leftist voices during the revolution and the missed opportunities for broader political mobilization. He also discusses the agency behind the “Russian Spring” counter-protests, explaining how escalating revolutionary violence and Russian intervention weakened Ukrainian unity and contributed to where the country finds itself today. Our first guest in 2026 is Lee Donald, an award winning PT who summited Everest in 2024 and has found a love for the big mountains. Becoming a PT in 2011 helped Lee to overcome an eating disorder, alcohol addiction and depression, and she describes the feeling of standing on Everest as 'from rock bottom to the top of the world'. She trained for Everest in both the Alps and Ecuador, although her training was beset by a series of pitfalls and mistakes that she describes to Kenton. If you have a dream to go to Everest, you are likely to find Lee's story highly relatable, and her enthusiasm will add an extra dose of motivation!

Co-hosts Bruce Miller and Terry Lipshetz are back for another season of Streamed & Screened, and the pair waste no time diving into some of the biggest topics. There is a bit of controversy surrounding "Song Sung Blue." "Stranger Things" comes to an end with a strong ending compared to final episodes of other big franchises like "Game of Thrones" and "Seinfeld." "Avatar: Fire and Ash" came out at the end of the 2025 and felt a lot like its predecessor, leaving us to wonder what's next for a franchise that has at least two more movies in the works. We also catch up Ginnifer Goodwin, who returns as Judy Hopps in "Zootopia 2," before discussing new programs coming for HBO including "The Pitt," two "Game of Thrones" series and the return of "Euphoria." About the show Streamed & Screened is a podcast about movies and TV hosted by Bruce Miller, a longtime entertainment reporter who is the retired editor of the Sioux City Journal in Iowa and Terry Lipshetz, a senior producer for Lee Enterprises based in Madison, Wisconsin. Leroy has been saying all season that the halftime adjustments are horrible but McDaniel wants to admit that NOW! Erik Dane on ALS, Disability Visibility, and Refusing to Give Up Erik Dane—forever remembered by many as “McSteamy” from Grey's Anatomy—has lived much of his career in the spotlight. From blockbuster films to hit television shows, and more recently capturing a new generation on Euphoria, his career has continued to evolve. But in April 2025, at the height of renewed success, Dane was diagnosed with ALS—a devastating disease with no cure. Now using a wheelchair, Erik Dane is still acting, still creating, and still showing up. He recently appeared on Brilliant Minds and participated in a powerful media panel discussing the role, disability visibility, and what it means to continue working in an industry that rarely makes space for visible illness. We bring you that panel—and the conversation it sparked. As we look ahead to the new year, Erik Dane's story is a profound reminder of two essential truths: nothing matters more than your health, and even when your body isn't cooperating, your dreams don't have to end.
ACOFAE Podcast Presents: Crossroads: "The legendary Ms. Britney Spears." It's hard to describe just how famous Britney Spears was in the early 2000s. Before social media, fame was a different machine and nowhere is that more clear than in Crossroads. Filled with everything ACOFAE loves, Crossroads is especially great at showing female friendships throughout the ups and downs of growing up. Yearning for a third place, Crossroads finds three friends going on a roadtrip to audition for a record label. A time, a place, a vibe. Along the way are shenanigans that bond and little side quests that let the other characters shine. A movie that could only be made when it was, Crossroads shows us a mega star at her peak, marketing at it's peak, and one of the last true girlhood movies of the early 2000's. By the ocean. Dive into this packed League of Legends talk show as Thorin and Nymaera break down the first looks at BLG and LNG in the Demacia Cup, BLG's new roster with Xun and Viper, and what it all might mean for the LPL 2025 season. They also explore how meta picks like Maokai jungle and Aphelios vs. Xayah are shaping early-game dynamics, team vibes, and playoff potential in China's top-tier League ecosystem. Then the episode pivots hard into Europe: the controversial BDS → Shifters rebrand, its mocked logo and name, and a disastrous meme tweet that turned a flat launch into a PR crisis. The hosts discuss the broader decline of creative opportunities in the EU scene, the cancellation of the LEC's flagship podcast EUphoria, and why losing high-quality Riot-produced shoulder content hurts narrative building, talent, and fans across the ecosystem. Rebecca chats with Jacob Elordi, who plays the creature in Guillermo del Toro's moving film. He reveals how he prepared for the unique role, his biggest concerns with the hours-long prosthetics process, and why it was, in a way, a religious experience. "I suppose maybe it takes a mask sometimes for people to see the truth of something," he says of his experience. Plus. the Australian actor talks about filming the third season of Euphoria, and reflects on how his career has transformed since the first season of HBO's hit series. Finally, he reveals why he hates talking about AI -- and would rather be kissing on the beach. Learn about your ad choices: dovetail.prx.org/ad-choices

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesThe potential sale of Warner Bros Discovery has been a hot topic in recent weeks, but no one could have predicted the escalation and heightened stakes the bidding war has reached as Paramount CEO David Ellison announced a hostile takeover bid to the tune of $108.4 billion in response to what he described as Netflix's inferior $82.7 billion deal; a deal that seemed like an all but assured thing just days ago. It's been an uncharacteristically long time since James Gunn has given us a headline, but we may still be a day late and dollar short, as on Sunday the DC Studios head released a 10 second first look at Supergirl via social media, with the promise of the teaser trailer later in the week; which many have speculated to mean Thursday… Thanks, James! Also concerning DC: Four years after leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe behind, Scarlett Johansson seems headed for Gotham City, with the actress in final negotiations to join The Batman Part II. Details about Johansson's potential role are being closely guarded, though speculation has already run rampant about which iconic Batman character she might portray, though being a new love interest for Bruce Wayne in some capacity is a popular guess in the wake of unconfirmed reports that Zoe Kravitz might not reprise her role in the sequel.More than seven years after its original theatrical run, Marvel Studios is bringing Avengers: Endgame, the second-highest-grossing film of all time, back to theaters September 25, 2026 just months before Avengers: Doomsday later that December. While it's still unknown how long the Russos Brothers' last MCU contribution will be back to the big screen, the placement between the releases of Spider-Man: Brand New Day in July and Doomsday in December, has fueled industry insider speculation suggesting the new Avengers film will act as a direct sequel to Endgame rather than closely following the events of Phases 4 through 6.HBO has revealed that the third season of Euphoria will begin streaming in April of 2026. This comes more than four years after Season 2 finished in February 2022.Hulu has renewed the Glen Powell led sports comedy series Chad Powers for a second season.20th Century Studios announced The Simpsons Movie 2 has been delayed from July 23, 2027 to September 3, 2027. Paramount and Blumhouse are reviving the Paranormal Activity franchise and bringing on James Wan to produce a new feature film in the franchise according to the Hollywood Reporter. Variety and CNN have revealed the star-studded lineup for the 23rd season of Actors on Actors. Some of the participants include Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Dwayne Johnson, Julia Roberts, and Ariana Grande. Sony Pictures has tapped Bad Boys For Life writer Chris Bremner to pen a new Men In Black film. Although plot details are not public, sources tell Deadline that when the script is complete, original series star Will Smith will be the first to read it in hopes that he will return to the franchise in some capacity. Prime Video has released the first trailer for the final season of The Boys. The show has an updated release date of April 8, 2026, which will see the release of two episodes. Episodes will then drop weekly, leading to the series finale on May 20th. Five Nights at Freddy's 2 opened to $109 million dollars worldwide over the weekend, a strong opening for the franchise. Additionally, last weekend's champion Zootopia 2 is nearing the one billion dollar mark with $915 million dollars worldwide so far. Sigourney Weaver is in talks to join the upcoming Tomb Raider series for Prime Video. Sophie Turner is set to star as Lara Croft, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge on as writer and executive producer.

ACOFAE Podcast Proudly Presents: Showgirls x The Life of a Showgirl: "Men are usually the villain." If you've been a long time listener then you know that getting the movie Showgirls on the pod is a WIN for Laura Marie. Pairing it with a discussion about Taylor Swift's new album release, The Life of a Showgirl, is a match made in heaven for Jessica Marie! This being Jessica Marie's very first NC-17 film is a win for everyone and ACOFAE has so much to say. Kicking off the discussion with a full breakdown of the movie Showgirls, ACOFAE is in awe of the production. Sparking discussions about shedding child star image, internalized misogyny, and sexual freedom, the movie Showgirls is a spectacle for the eyes and for the brain. Taylor's discussion focuses on how women can't do anything right in the eyes of society, and that it seems to be that pain is rewarded instead of joy - and that joy makes women talentless. Join ACOFAE as they explore all of the storylines in both the movie and the album, and come to the conclusion that women just can't be happy without criticism.
