The enemy can't stop Jesus. So he makes you believe the lie it's not worth showing up and living sold out for Jesus. He makes you feel alone and dismisses the Work God is doing so you won't press on to victory.

In the face of your faults and sin, God doesn't just say, “I forgive you.” In grace, God also says, “Let me help you.” This week Pastor Austin continues the Titus sermon series.
In this message, Pastor Willie George closes out our Essentials of Renewal series, inviting us to rethink the power and purpose of the resurrection—and what it means for the church.
When people around you at work succeed, do you find yourself happy for them or feeling bad for yourself? It can be easy to compare our career path to someone else's and come out feeling like we missed our chance at moving up - but the truth is that everyone's journey will look different. Galatians 6:4 says, “Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won't need to compare yourself to anyone else.” So next time the temptation to compare yourself to a coworker comes up, take the focus off of others and put it back on the work God has given you to do today. Because when you work with excellence, you bring honor to God… and that's the measure of TRUE success!
When I was a teenager, I played on our church basketball team. Doyle was our center. Our arch-rival was an inner-city church. During the game, the center for the opposing team fouled out and blamed Doyle. When he walked to the bench, he pointed a finger at Doyle and said, “I'll be waiting for you in the parking lot.” He was a lot bigger than Doyle and the threat had Doyle shook up. After the game ended, our team decided we weren't going to let Doyle face the other guy alone. So, as we left the gym and walked out to the parking lot, we were one big group huddled up together with Doyle in the middle. As believers, the opposition we face isn't always as apparent as in this story, but it is real nonetheless. Every believer engages in some level of spiritual warfare against Satan and his schemes. Thankfully, we don't stand alone. God Himself stands with us whenever we face opposition. Contestant number 43,212 walked onto the stage to audition for Britain's Got Talent. She stood in sharp contrast to previous performers. Unkempt curly hair and a less than flattering dress suggested a frumpy housewife. Simon Cowell interviewed her briefly and her admission that she was 47 years old caused raised eyebrows and scattered laughter from the audience. Her awkward verbal responses added to the anticipation that her performance would be cut short quickly. Expectations hit rock bottom when she revealed the ambitious choice to sing “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Misérables. But when contestant number 43,212 finished singing just the first phrase, “I dreamed a dream in time gone by” the audience had begun to cheer and applaud while each judge wore a look of amazement and disbelief. Her voice was beautiful and strong. She finished the song to a standing ovation, and Susan Boyle was on her way. Simon Cowell said later she was the textbook example of “never judge a book by its cover.” Sometimes God surprises us in the same way, working in ways and through people we might not expect. My call to the ministry came later in life. At 32 years of age, I was attending seminary full-time, working two part-time jobs, and my wife worked full-time. We were doing our best to take care of three small children and ourselves. Money was tight. A man from my home church knew of our financial stress and handed me a check for a large amount of money. Immediately my pride took over and I said, “Thanks but we'll get by.” After his insistence that I take the money, I refused again. In response, this man said something I've never forgotten. He said, “If you don't take this money, you'll take away the joy and blessing I have from giving it.” Initially I thought his statement was simply trying to convince me to take the money, but as I've grown in my walk with the Lord, I understand now what he meant. For believers there's a joy and blessing that comes as we let God work through us for the sake of others. Meeting the needs of others can reveal God's hand at work. We need God's help, especially in times of uncertainty or distress. The question isn't, “Will God respond?” More often the question is, “Will we respond to God's help in faith and obedience?” The post ELISHA-SEEING THE HAND OF GOD AT WORK: God's Hand in Meeting Our Needs (YOU-Spr'25, Study 2, Session 2) appeared first on YOU.
I receive invitations on a regular basis. Not the big invitations such as, “The President and First Lady invite you to spend Christmas at the White House.” The invitations I receive are more mundane. This past week I received a number of invitations in the mail. The local car dealer invited me to look at their new inventory and maybe even spend thousands of dollars on a vehicle. I'll pass. I also received an invitation from the county to pay my property taxes in a timely fashion and avoid jail time. I might take them up on that one. One is God's invitation to join Him in His work, and the primary way He delivers the invitation is to reveal what He's doing. Elisha sets the example for how we should respond to God's call to join Him and serve. The post ELISHA-SEEING THE HAND OF GOD AT WORK: God's Hand in Calling us to Serve (YOU-Spr'25, Study 2, Session 1) appeared first on YOU.
Today, we examine the narrative of three kings who made a plan, when it turned into a likely disaster. One King then suggested that they should seek out God's will and plan. Elisha gave them the plan of God. Their part was to dig the holes in the valley. God would provide the water to fill those holes. God typically provides a way and simply asks us to be a willing participant in the process.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Motherhood can feel overwhelming, with constant worries about the future and whether we're doing enough. But in those moments, we can cling to one powerful truth: God has a plan for us and for our children. His outcome is perfect, and that's where our hope rests. When we trust in God's plan, we find peace and experience motherhood in a radically different way. So how do we do this? It's simple: turn to God's Word. The Bible gives us truths to reset our hearts and minds:Your True Value:You are God's beloved child, and your worth isn't defined by your circumstances. Romans 8:16You Are a New Creation:Through Christ, you are made new. 2 Corinthians 5:17You Are Freed:You are freed from the weight of perfection. Romans 6:11God Is Faithfully at Work:God is always transforming you, even when you don't see it. 2 Corinthians 3:18We Can Overcome Strongholds:God gives us the power to overcome fears and doubts. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5Nothing Can Separate Us from God's Love:His love for you is unshakable. Romans 8:38-39These truths help us walk through motherhood with peace, trusting that God's plan is always better than our own.Connect with Bethany hereFollow her on Instagram @bethanykimseyStop feeling defeated in your motherhood. Discussion Questions Is there a chasm between your current view of work and the biblical perspective we learned today, and what needs to change to bridge that gap? Reflect on a time when you found joy and fulfillment in your work. What factors contributed to that experience, and how can you cultivate those factors in your current situation? Discuss how you can help others see the value and dignity in their work, regardless of the nature of their job. How can you encourage and support those around you in their vocational callings?
How can our work and rest serve the mission of God? By proclaiming God's excellence through our work, jobs transform into assignments from God.

In our faith the intention to obey and the cultivation of a life of obedience is our responsibility but at the same time, God doesn't just call us to obey, he gives us the ability to obey. This is saying God gives us the desire to obey and has given us the power to do it. In this power we can go from people who are warped and crooked, bent in on ourselves, to shining examples of what humanity can be. Like a child crawls then walks, we are Christians that are maturing progressively to overflowing with gratitude and joy. “Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling”Philippians 2:12 (NIV)“This is not the fear of a lost sinner before the Holy One, but the fear of a true child before the most loving of all fathers; not a fear of what he might do to us, but of the hurt we might do to him.”Alec Motyner | The Message of Philippians
To live out our faith and experience the amazing life that Jesus promises, we've got to keep close to Him, like staying connected to a power source. It's about letting ourselves be shaped and changed by what Jesus teaches us – that's the formation process. Understanding that God is the giver of life is a big deal. If we live like Jesus is the essence of life, it means finding our true purpose and joy by following his way. Living as if Jesus is life involves more than just going through the motions; it's about embracing a lifestyle where we let His teachings guide us. It's like shifting from a routine existence to actively being part of a life filled with faith, love, and the transformative power of what Jesus teaches us. It's about living a meaningful and purposeful life.
In this broadcast, Pastor Rick teaches what God promises when you trust him by faithfully using your gifts to fulfill his purpose for your life.
Ecclesiastes 5:7 says, “Dreaming instead of doing is foolishness, and there is ruin in a flood of empty words” (TLB). In this message, Pastor Rick explains why it is important to start trying those things you've always wanted to do.
You can learn a lot from your experiences—good and bad. In this message, Pastor Rick explains why it's important to review the events of your life so you can see how God has taught you through your successes and failures.
The church has been tasked with reaching the next generation with the gospel and with reaching the nations with the gospel. Both of these aspects of the church's mission have eternal implications, and both can feel overwhelming. In this message from Nehemiah 2 by David Platt, we'll see that the great work God has called us to is possible, but only with the good hand of our God working in and through us. As we seek his face and rely on his power, we are strengthened and sustained in the great work of making disciples of all nations. (For more resources from David Platt and Radical, visit radical.net)
The Great Work God Has Called Us To, And The Good Hand Of God To Help Us Do It (Nehemiah 2) || What Could God Do? || David Platt
By Rick Shabi in Home Office - January 31, 2024 - As Nehemiah and the Jews go to work on repairing the broken down wall and burned gates, they encounter anger, hostility, and threats from the people around them who d not want that wall built. Despite it all, they continue in their work. God commends them, stating "they had a mind to work." Valuable lessons for us today as we continue to do the Work God has called us to do. Jason and Roger continue a four part series revolving around our congregational 2023 theme–Finish What Was Started. In this third episode, we dig into Jesus' words in John 17:4: “I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do.”
David responds to a listener’s question about how to restore in our law the Biblical cosmology on which the Western Legal Tradition was grounded, and how such an effort would inform and shape “Christian nationalism.”
Today, David brings together past episodes on the “law of faith” and the eternal covenant to evaluate the justification for laws protecting minors from “gender transition procedures” that was given in a national op-ed written by a Christian state legislator. He will look at how to evaluate the legislator’s labor—was it “in the Lord” or “in vain”?
