If you're stuck in sexual sin, you've probably tried different ways to escape. But have you ever considered that the real problem lies within? It's your heart. In today's message, Director of Ministry Outreach Patrick Hudson uses Pharoah's rebellion in the Exodus account to break down four ways the sexual sinner hardens his heart towards God. As Patrick testifies, God has made a way out for you—but it requires a response to His voice. Today is day 311 and we are studying The Sixth Commandment. 311. How did Jesus extend the law against murder? Jesus taught that this commandment also forbids the vice of ungodly anger. A murderous heart can lead to hatred, threatening words, violent acts, and murder itself, and is counter to God's life-affirming love. (Leviticus 19:17–18; Matthew 5:21–22, 43–45; 15:18–20; 1 John 3:15) We will conclude today by praying Proper 20 found on page 620 of the Book of Common Prayer (2019). If you would like to buy or download To Be a Christian, head to anglicanchurch.net/catechism. Produced by Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Madison, MS. Original music from Matthew Clark. Today is day 309 and we are studying The Sixth Commandment. 309. Why does God prohibit murder? Because every human being is made in God's image, all human life is sacred, from conception to natural death. Therefore, I may not take the life of others unjustly. (Genesis 9:6; Deuteronomy 19:4–13; Psalm 94:1–7; Isaiah 46:3–4; Romans 12:19–21) We will conclude today by praying Prayer 43.For Social Justice found on page 659 of the Book of Common Prayer (2019). Christians in sexual sin have more in common with the older brother than with the prodigal son. Although the older brother remained in the father's house, he was just as spiritually disconnected from his father as his prodigal brother. Sin always separates people from God, whether they're in church or not.
Today is day 308 and we are studying The Sixth Commandment. 308. What is murder? Murder is the willful and unjust taking of human life. (Genesis 4:1–10; Deuteronomy 19:4–13; Acts 7:54–8:3) We will conclude today by praying Yodh stanza of Psalm 119 which is verses 73-80 found on page 432 of the Book of Common Prayer (2019).
