Jay Perry, Chief Operating Officer of Women's National Basketball Association Jay is a personal friend of mine and a professional that I admire so much. I was so honored to sit down with her and talk with her about her career, her job, and what it looks like to create change. Prior to working for the WNBA Jay was the President/CEO of the Arizona Super Bowl host committee. She worked really closely in that role with the NFL and with the local community to execute a record-breaking Super Bowl 49. We discuss her career and she shares some great insights.
Week 4 of 4; Jay Parry finishes our series on the Gospel of Luke. The Son of God, Jesus, had a very human moment just before his sacrifice on the cross, which fulfilled His earthly mission. As Jesus was looking toward his own death, His plea to the Father revealed the ultimate picture of surrendering to God’s will and purpose. This week focuses on how Jesus’ tremendous love for us was displayed in His sacrificial death—the greatest act of friendship ever displayed.
Week 3 of 4; Jay Parry continues our series in the Gospel of Luke. This week focuses on three stories Jesus told to help us understand his passion for restoring our broken relationship with God. These stories about lost sheep, lost money, and a runaway son use concepts that Jesus’ audience would understand. These parables give us insight into Jesus’ compassion toward those who don’t know him. They also represent his feelings of frustration with the religious leaders who were lacking compassion.
Part 1 of 3; Jay Parry kicks off our weekend retreat by taking a closer look at who Jesus was and is, why we can believe in Him, and how that impacts us today!
Jay Parry, CEO of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee, joins us to discuss the economic impact of Super Bowl 49 on the state of Arizona's economy as well as Jay's team's preparation in advance of hosting the Super Bowl. Brian Gordon, CEO of the Engine Shop stops by to tell us about the biggest Super Bowl parties - which brands are hosting parties, which celebrities will be attending and performing at these parties and how difficult is it to get into the Super Bowl parties. Week 4 of 6, Jay Parry. Psalm 22. There are times in our lives when God feels far away or when our prayers seem to “bounce off the ceiling.” We all have experienced times like this; David certainly did. But we can still find encouragement. Even though God may seem far away, He is still God and is still present. And God has a track record of remaining faithful.
Week 1 of 6, Jay Parry. Psalm 3. “Drama” seems like an almost inevitable part of our experience, and while much of this drama is “normal” and relatively harmless, some is more sinister. What do we do when it seems like everyone is against us? Who do we turn to when friendships sour? Psalms 3 helps us understand what it means to turn to God when it feels like everyone else has turned against us.
Week 2 of 3, Jay Parry. Evangelism. Just the word alone conjures up a multitude of images and most of them make us squirm. But sharing the Good News of Jesus doesn't have to be pulpit pounding or televangelist cheesy. In this three-week series, we can get a practical handle on three ways we can be a testament to spread God's love.
Week 3 of 6. Jay Parry tackles the spiritual discipline, or HABIT of Bible study and memorization.
Week 2 of 4, Jay Parry. Jay continues our series on relationships by discussing the roles in marriage according to the Bible.
Week three, Jay Parry. Continuing our series on Loaded Questions, the topics we don't talk about in church but need to, Jay shares what the Bible says about racism and prejudice, and how a Christian should apply it.
Week 2 of 3. Jay Parry continues our series looking at some of the heroes of the Old Testament and the lessons we can learn from them today by taking a look at the story of Shadrach.
Week 2 of 3. Jay Parry continues the series on Galatians with a look at chapter 4.
