Hour 4: Connor Hughes Talks Harbaugh Sweepstakes, Shaun's Hat, and More on the Coaching Carousel.
Host Brad Fowler reacts to a chaotic postseason as shocking NFL coaching news, College Football Playoff semifinals, and NFL Wild Card matchups take center stage. We open with a full reaction to breaking news just before recording: the Baltimore Ravens firing head coach John Harbaugh. We break down why the move happened, who Baltimore should hire next, why the Ravens instantly become the best NFL head coaching job available, and why Harbaugh now becomes the top coaching candidate on the market. Next, we dive into Black Monday fallout across the NFL, including the firings of Jonathan Gannon, Pete Carroll, Raheem Morris, and Kevin Stefanski. We discuss Arizona’s reset, the Raiders’ collapse, Atlanta’s long-overdue clean house despite a talented roster, and why Cleveland’s issues extend far beyond Stefanski — with the Deshaun Watson trade still shaping the franchise. In College Football, we preview and make picks for the CFP semifinals. We break down Miami vs Ole Miss in the Fiesta Bowl, Miami’s shocking win over Ohio State, and whether the Hurricanes can control the game or survive a shootout. We also preview the Peach Bowl rematch between Oregon and Indiana, revisiting their regular-season matchup, quarterback pressure, line-of-scrimmage battles, and why Curt Cignetti’s Hoosiers may be the most complete team left. We close with full NFL Wild Card previews and picks, including Rams vs Panthers, Packers vs Bears, Bills vs Jaguars, 49ers vs Eagles, Chargers vs Patriots, and Texans vs Steelers. We break down key injuries, coaching advantages, matchup edges, and why several favorites may be on upset alert. From Drake Maye’s MVP-level leap, Trevor Lawrence’s late-season surge, Houston’s elite defense, and why Pittsburgh may be the weakest team in the playoff field — it’s a must-listen postseason episode.

We get back into the conversation about the coaching search for the Titans. There are some interviews getting scheduled for this week. Which other jobs could still open up this offseason? Which is the best open job at this point? The Wild Card round begins on Saturday. Which matchups intrigue us the most? We wrap up the show with more thoughts on the future of Ty Simpson.
The NFL coaching carousel is in full swing as the Titans have begun to set up interviews. What do we think of the initial list of candidates? How interested will teams be in Kevin Stefanski after he was let go by Cleveland? We head to the phones. Sounds like the Titans got some good news about the shoulder injury for Cam Ward.
As the 2025 NFL Regular Season wraps up, the offseason work has kicked into full gear for some franchises! The Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Raiders, and Arizona Cardinals have all fired their coaches after disappointing seasons. Join Braden, Brock, and Dawson as they break down who these teams should look at as their next head coach and suggest what each team should do to improve their team this offseason. The boys also debate which opening is the most appealing coaching job for potential head coaching candidates.
Joe Benigno joins Evan and Tiki and delivers a scorched-earth review of the Jets' season, calling the last five weeks unwatchable and questioning how the head coach could possibly return. Joe blasts the historic lack of forced turnovers, the lifeless offense, and the embarrassing mistakes that made the Jets feel closer to a college team than an NFL franchise. From there, the conversation turns to what comes next: the value of the No. 2 pick, whether a quarterback is mandatory, and how the Jets avoid repeating the same rookie QB failures with a real veteran bridge. Joe weighs in on coaching candidates, why certain names would take the job, and what kind of coordinator hires are non-negotiable if the current regime stays. The hour closes with the Black Monday carousel, the most appealing openings, and a quick detour into Mets frustration before the show pivots back to a fanbase stuck between draft hope and total exhaustion.

The Big Ten is thriving so far this postseason. With a couple of exceptions, the SEC is wilting. And what of the coaching carousel? Did the Big Ten club the SEC there, too? You could make that case. LSU scored the big fish by securing Lane Kiffin. Mostly, though, SEC schools hired promising but largely unproven up and comers, while Big Ten schools like Michigan and Penn State landed veteran winners with solid resumes. On today's episode, hosts Blake Toppmeyer and John Adams evaluate which conference did it better in this hiring cycle. They also debate which conference has the more complete roster of coaches. And they discuss which SEC schools would have been well-served by hiring Kyle Whittingham, who wound up at Michigan. Later in the episode, the hosts unpack the College Football Playoff quarterfinal matchups, including what's at stake for Kalen DeBoer in Alabama-Indiana and whether Mississippi plays with house money in a rematch with Georgia.
Shaun Morash and Tiki Barber give you a New Years-themed Cinco de Five Oh, discuss the Giants and Jets' coaching situations, ask what coaches could be available, and talk some Knicks.
